Everyone in the group was shocked. They couldn't believe Ash lied to them. When they saw Sceptile come out of it's Pokèball, they were speechless. Serena was so mad at Ash. She was so upset at him. But at the same time, she felt so bad because everyone was getting really mad at him. 

Dawn: Are you serious?! He has a Sceptile?? Calem really was right! He's not some rookie! He just came to Kalos so he can defeat easier targets! Im not on Ash's side anymore, he lied to us, and you too Serena! 

May: Dawn's right...

Iris: I told you two! Ash is a liar! He's completely brainwashed all of you! I just want things to go back to normal..

Cilan: I agree with Iris...

Misty: 'CAN YOU GUYS STOP ARGUING?! I'M TRYING... TO WATCH THE BATTLE!"

Gary: "For once.... I actually agree with Misty! SHUT UP! AND DAWN, MAY, IRIS, AND THE REST OF YOU, ASH IS NOT A LIAR!"

Clemont: I'm sorry... but Ash is a liar. I mean, he told Serena and the rest of us that he only had two Pokèmon coming into the Kalos Region. He said he wanted to start from zero and catch many different pokemon. Calem was right all along. Ash didn't need to lie. He could have told us! Im sorry Gary, I know he's your friend and all, but he's a liar!

Gary had enough of it. He was just defending his best friend. So he decided to leave for the time being. 

Gary: "YOU KNOW WHAT?! -- FINE. BUT LET ME TELL YOU ALL SOMETHING, YOU DON'T KNOW THE FULL STORY! WAY TO TREAT YOUR NEW CLASSMATES! IM DONE. IM LEAVING THE STADIUM."

Dawn was a bit sad. She thought she went a bit too hard on Ash, which caused Gary to get mad at her as well.

Dawn: "Gary!!  wait... We didn't mean to be so rude to you and Ash. Don't go! Im sorry..."

Gary: "Be quiet Dawn."

Gary left and Dawn was sad. Dawn was miserable. She didn't make the right choice. She was mad at herself and that caused her to get sad. Serena, on the other hand, didn't know who's side she would be on. When Gary told them all that they did not know Ash's full story, Serena felt bad because maybe she might have jumped to conclusions too quickly. 

Dawn: I shouldn't have said anything. Its my fault. Im just so mad at Ash... Serena, what do you think about all of this??

Serena: I'm not that mad....

Dawn: Wait, you're not?! 

Serena: No, I'm not... well.. I mean, I was, but then Gary told us that we didn't know the full situation on Ash. And... I feel really bad for Ash. He's losing this battle right now.. against Calem. Calem was just so rude to Ash! He didn't need to tell the whole School!! UGH IM FURIOUS! 

Dawn: Wow... you really do like him... huh.. Dawn whispered. 

Serena: "DAWN!"

Tierno: "Can you two stop talking so much! Im trying to watch the battle!"

Serena: Guys. We have to go find Gary during halftime. We owe him an apology.

Back On The Battlefield--

Calem: So you finally brought out Sceptile... I was waiting for this. 

Ash: Sceptile, stay focused. Remember back in Sinnoh? You defeated Darkrai. And I know you can do it again buddy.

Sceptile: SCEPTTTILE!

Calem: We'll see about that. Use Ice Beam!

Ash: Dodge it!

Ash's Sceptile was so strong and quick. It defeated this exact same Darkrai back in Sinnoh. Sceptile and Ash were not scared.

Calem: Darkrai use Dark void!

The Dark Void attack was almost impossible to dodge. It did plenty of damage to Sceptile, causing Sceptile to fall to its knees.

Calem: CHECKMATE! NOW USE DREAM EATER!

Sceptile was fast asleep. This was the perfect opportunity 

Ash: NO! SCEPTILE!! WAKE UP SCEPTILE!

Ash was begging Sceptile to wake up. They have been in this exact same situation before. 

Ash: I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT BUDDY! 

In Sceptile's POV, he heard Ash's voice. He saw light and he woke up.

Ash: I knew you could do it!

Calem: WHAT?! BUT HOW??

Ash: USE LEAF BLADE!!

Sceptile strung not one, not two, but three powerful leaf blade attacks on Darkrai. 

It did so much damage that Darkrai was unable to battle. 

Calem: NOO!!! HOW?!

Ash: Great job buddy!!!!!

Sceptile: SCEP! TILE!!

Sycamore: CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS?! ASH KETCHUM HAS DEFEATED CALEM'S DARKRAI! THIS IS UNBELIEVEABLE! 

Sawyer: WOW GUYS! ASH AND SCEPTILE DEFEATED DARKRAI! AMAZING!

Everyone besides Sawyer didn't react. Its as if they were still mad at Ash.

Sawyer: UHH GUYS?!!

Clemont wanted to say something, but instead, he ignored it. Dawn and May didn't seem to care at all. Tierno, Trevor, and Shauna did the same. Iris, Miette, and Cilan were completely shocked. They were in awe. And finally Serena....

Sawyer: Hey Serena... whats going on with everyone?

Serena had her arms crossed and seemed mad. She didnt seem interested in answering Sawyer's question. It was because of Ash. She was actually mad at Ash, just like the others. But at the same time, she knew that Sawyer admired Ash. She really didn't want to hurt Sawyer's feelings.

Serena: I... I don't really know Sawyer. But hey! Darkrai is finally down! I knew Ash could do it...

Sawyer: Yeah! I always had faith in Ash. I knew he could defeat Calem's Darkrai.. Anyways, Serena, do you like Ash?

Serena didn't know what to say. She was lost.

Serena: Like? As in... do I like Ash as a friend or do I like.. like Ash?

Sawyer: Serena... obviously I meant do you like Ash as a friend... the other option is too personal..

Dawn: You do realize I can hear your conversation, right Serena? oh and Sawyer... she likes Ash... you know what I mean. 

Serena: DAWN!!!!!

Sawyer: Uhh... okay.... GUYS WHY AREN'T YOU INTERESTED IN THE BATTLE?! DARKRAI IS DEFEATED! ITS LIKE YOU GUYS DONT EVEN CARE!!!

Suddenly Misty stood up and things were about to get really ugly. 

Misty: WHY WE DONT CARE?! ILL TELL YOU WHY! ASH IS A BIG FAT LIAR! HE LIED TO ALL OF US AND SERENA FOR NO REASON! CALEM WAS RIGHT! HE HAS COMPLETELY SEPERATED OUR GROUP! AND IF YOU CANT NOTICE THAT... WELL THEN... YOU'RE BLIND!

Everyone was in awe. They thought Misty was being way too harsh on Sawyer. 

Tierno: MISTY, THAT WAS COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY! YOU'RE SO RUDE! SAY SORRY TO SAWYER. RIGHT NOW.

Misty: Nope. Im leaving this place. Im not going to hang out with a bunch of losers who worship a person who lies for no apparent reason. Im out! I hope Calem wins! 

Miette: What happened to her? Jeez...

Shauna: She'll come back... she's just mad. 

Serena: Ash doesn't deserve this... some of you guys are taking this way too far... I need to go and talk to Ash. Like right now. 

Serena: Clemont? When is it halftime? 

Clemont was cheering up Sawyer. 

Clemont: Whenever the referee signals its halftime, Serena. 

Serena: I need to talk to Ash. 

Clemont: Hmm. Im sorry Serena, but I don't think they'll allow people to enter Ash's break room. 

Serena: They will. I'll find a way. Thanks Clemont!

Clemont: Uhh okay.. Serena? Can I come with you too? I need to talk to Ash as well. I was being a bit too harsh on him. I need to apologize. In fact, I think all of us should. 

Serena: Of course you can Clemont! Everyone can. Ok guys?

Dawn: I'll see. 

May: Same. 

Trevor: Darkrai has been finally knocked out! Go Ash! You can do it! 

Serena smiled. She knew that some of her friends were cheering for Calem, while some of them were cheering for Ash. She still didn't hate Ash as much because she didnt know the full story. 

Back On The Battlefield--

Calem: Cant lie Ash. That was impressive. But, I've told everyone your real story, and I also have another secret weapon that shall not be named. Just give up already. 

Ash: Funny you say that Calem. Truth is, no one knows my real story. And did you really think I was going to give up? That would never happen in a million years. I don't give up till its over, thats for sure. Got it?

Calem: Whatever...

Referee: Calem Xavier, please send out your next Pokémon. 

Calem knew he still had his secret weapon available. He didn't want to use it just yet, however. He was so confident however. So it didnt really matter. 

Calem: Blaziken I choose you!

Blaziken was sent out. The crowd was still in disbelief because Darkrai was eliminated. 

Blaziken: BLAZIKEN!!

Calem: Hey Ash, bet you didn't know Blaziken and Sceptile are two rivals from Hoenn!

Ash: I did know that....

Ash: Sceptile use Leaf Storm!

Calem: Use Sky Uppercut!

Sceptile's attack was much faster but the attack didn't do that much damage. 

Ash: USE POUND!

Both the Sky Uppercut attack and the Pound attack were head on. Blaziken was much weaker however.

Sycamore: BLAZIKEN HAS THE ADVANTAGE HERE! BUT IT SEEMS AS IF IT HAS TOOK MORE DAMAGE!

Ash: YES! LETS WRAP THIS UP, GET UP CLOSE AND USE LEAF BLADE! 

Calem was waiting for the exact time to land his attack as Sceptile came charging in towards Blaziken. 

Sawyer: What is Calem doing?! Sceptile is too fast. You cant have Blaziken just standing there.

Right as Sceptile was beginning to launch its attack on Blaziken, Blaziken had perfect time and space to launch a hit.

Calem: There it is, use Blaze Kick! 

Blaziken launched a destructive Blaze Kick attack on Sceptile. It did so much damage that Sceptile got knocked to the ground. 

Ash: NO SCEPTILE! 

Calem: Hah! Finish this off with Fire Punch! 

Ash: QUICK USE YOUR TAIL TO SPIN AROUND!

As soon as Blaziken was about to hit Sceptile with Fire Punch, Sceptile got up and span backwards using its tail and speed, which caused Sceptile to get behind Blaziken.

Ash: Use Bullet Seed!

Sceptile had the angle on Blaziken and launched a Bullet Seed attack on Blaziken. 

Blaziken fell to the ground. It was unable to battle. 

Referee: Blaziken is unable to battle! Sceptile is the w-------

Sceptile, with absolutely no health left, fell to the ground as well. It was a draw.

Sycamore: WOW WHAT AN AMAZING MATCHUP! LETS GIVE A ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR BOTH BLAZIKEN AND SCEPTILE! TREMENDOUS BATTLING AND PERSEVERANCE WAS SHOWN!

The crowd clapped and even the gang acknowledged it. 

Calem: Great job, Blaziken. Return. 

Ash: Thanks buddy. You did awesome. Take a good rest. 

Referee: It is now halftime. Calem Xavier, you have only 2 Pokemon remaining while Ash Ketchum has 3 Pokemon remaining.  Please proceed to the trainer locker rooms and return when Professor Sycamore tells you too. 

Ash: Understood. 

Calem: Understood. 

Sycamore: ALL RIGHT EVERYONE IT IS NOW HALFTIME! THE INTERMISSION WILL BE 30 MINUTES LONG! 

Gang POV--

Serena: I need to go see Ash.

Dawn: Im coming too. 

May: Me too.

Tierno, Trevor, Shauna, Clemont, Sawyer: Us too!

Everyone wanted to owe an apology.

Iris and Miette were eavesdropping them. They didn't want Serena and her friends to get to Ash. Otherwise, their plan would have failed.

Ash and Calem went to their respective locker rooms. 

As Ash entered his locker room, he saw someone. It scared him quite frankly. 

It was Gary.

Ash: GARY?! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE???

Gary: Didn't mean to startle ya..

Ash: Why are you here Gary?

Gary: They found out Ash. And they're mad.

Ash: No......

Gary: Yes.... and Serena seemed mad too. They found out you lied. 

Ash: I... I cant believe it. That stupid idiot... Calem. 

Gary: What are you going to do now Ash?

Ash: I have to tell Serena. Right now... I need to tell her why I acted like this. 

Gary: But how? You have to get back on the battlefield in like a few minutes. Otherwise, its over for you. Calem will win. 

Ash: You're right. I guess thats that then. 

Gary: What do you mean?

Ash: My friendship with Serena is broken. She probably still hates me. And if I cant tell her the true story, then.. I guess I cant be friends with her anymore. 

Gary: ARE YOU STUPID?!?!?!? ASH I NEED TO TELL YOU SOMETHING

Ash: What?!

Gary: She likes you, she really really likes you. 

Ash: What do you mean?

Gary: *facepalm* She's attracted to you! She has a crush on you?! Have you not noticed?!

Ash: GARY! Ash started to blush.

Gary: ARE.. ARE YOU.... BLUSHING?!?! 

Ash: No im not! Wait are you serious?! She likes me? 

Gary: Yes doofus! Wake up! She really really likes you. She always blushes around you, I've noticed. Im not oblivious like someone I know...

Ash: Serena... how could I do this?

Gary: Ash... you cant just let go of her. If you do, she'll be sad. And she likes you, she's probably not even that mad to begin with. You just have to tell her the full story. Get out there and knock that loser known as Calem down. Then go tell her the full story. 

Ash: I need you to do that. Please Gary. You know who I am. You know what I've done. Just tell her and her friends. I have to get out there and win this battle. I'll apologize after im done with Calem. 

Gary: Understood. Come on Ash, beat Calem. Do it for Serena. And for me. Prove everyone wrong. And ill tell them that you're not just some trainer with 2 Pokémon. Got it?

Ash: Got it. 

Ash proceeded to the battlefield. Gary still stayed in the room for the moment. 

Suddenly he heard a knock on the door. 

It was Serena and the gang. 

Gary opened the door. 

Serena: Gary?! What are you doing here? Where's Ash?!

Gary: Come in. Ill explain everything.
