BONDING QUESTION:  What is your favorite food item?

The blinding light vanished as I felt my feet touch the ground. Pristine pillars decorated the holy abode and when you extended your vision out, the vast hemisphere contained nothing but clouds.

This was heaven.

“Yuri.” A sigh of relief escaped my lips as I saw the toddler sleeping peacefully on the bed. Her hazel eyes were curtained under her cream eyelids and her lips held a small smile.

“Speak.” Iris commanded. I turned my body to face her. I had known her for years and only I could tell that no matter how angry the expressions she displayed right now, she was melted. She had never been sulky, ever since I had known, she’s the most patient being.

“My lady,” I bowed in respect.  “As I told you my name is Lilith. I guess you shall be well aware about the prophecy of the lost moon.”

She nodded, her eyebrows tensed.

“I am an oracle , my lady.” Those words were an alien sentence as I had never confessed this, but I knew they were true. Her jaw dropped. As much she didn’t wish to believe it, she knew that I wasn’t lying. Her pink eyes bulged out and the yellow in her hair switched purple. She was anxious.

“What?”

“Oracle my lady, I can see the future.”

“I know who an Oracle is. But there hasn’t been an oracle in two milleniums.”

I stared at my feet. Of course I knew there hadn’t been any oracle for centuries. I did an entire research before jumping to the conclusion.

“How are you so sure?”

“I-”

“Wait, let’s go to Zeus.”

“My-”

Before I could revolt the idea, she slid a hand in my waist and we transported from the temple in a beam of rainbow, to a huge castle. This wasn’t mundane as Iris’ temple, instead the ceiling was high, decorated with gold chandeliers. The mottled floor was as shiny as a mirror. The decorations were meticulous around the corners and walls of rare elements and some those I didn’t even know of.

We stopped at a gold and white door. I could guess why we were waiting. No one would wish to drop in between his quality time.

“Come in Iris,” the huge doors opened and there positioned a man on the large king sized bed. Black beard graced his face, twining his pepper and salt hair. He was utterly handsome with the well built body. His expressions were earnest, that was a surprise. I had never seen him this serious. He had always been the sarcastic and fun type which also was the reason for my particular hatred for him.

“My lord.” Iris bowed. I copied her.

“To what do I owe this lovely visit my dear?” He questioned, his tone bored.

“This human your grace,” she pointed a thin hand towards me. I stood up tall not letting the pervert God see my fear. He raised one delicate eyebrow.

“She says…that she’s an oracle.”

Zeus’ both eyebrows raised in surprise. He did not believe us. I did not expect him to.

“You...” he pointed his finger towards me, “...think that you are an oracle. No wait, do you even know what an oracle is, little mortal?”

I pressed my lips in a thin line.

“My lord, I have no reason to lie in the time when everyone is looking for the moon.”

He laughed loudly causing me to flinch. Iris rolled her eyes. The boastful king would never believe me.

“Dear fortune teller then, please predict where the moon is and how do we get it? Oh and please don’t tell me it's up here cause I know about the big white moon.”

He laughed again. I clenched my fists. Iris could see my discomfort but she couldn't care less.

“Your majesty, I-” He cut me in mid-sentence.

“Enough!” He raised one hand.

“Iris, take her out of my sight.”

“Why won’t you listen!” I yelled.

“Because I have no interest in listening to a brown haired little mortal who proclaims to be an Oracle when there hasn’t been in millennia.” He yelled equally high. I gritted my teeth and stormed out. Iris did not follow me. I wonder if she believes me.

I had known this would be difficult and yet it hurt. Tears stung in my eyes as I ran out. Vast eden spreaded across his humongous mansion. It was not alien enough to me but right now I did not know where I was heading. My eyes were blurred with tears.

“Bloody boastful bastard! What does he think of himself!” I muttered a little too loudly.

“Talking about my father little one?”

I immediately jerked my body towards the voice. The lanky God stood grinning at me. Curly blonde hair framed his creamy face decorated with exquisite grey eyes and a pearly white smile. I bowed immediately. The sweet scent of cinnamon touched my nose.

“Lord Apollo.”

“You know me.” He cocked an eyebrow.

I smiled, “Just like you know me.”

I raised my hand, rolling up the black sleeves. As I rolled it to my elbow, the familiar birthmark exposed. Unlike each time I saw it, today it was radiating light, the little sun shaped scar on my wrist. He gasped and traced the scar with his warm fingers. I felt a shiver run down my spine.

“An oracle.” He concluded and raised his eyes to mine.

He was a couple of inches shorter than me but the distance between us managed to hide the detail.

“Who brought you here?”

“Lady Iris, my lord.”

“Why?”

“She wanted me to tell Lord Zeus about myself.”

He let my hand drop and placed his hand on his waist, turning his frame around in frustration.

“Tell me he did not tell you to get out.”

I looked at the grass below my feet.

“Damn!” He cursed.

“What is your name?”

“Lilith,” I said in a whisper, a memory of the unrespectful king flashing in my mind.

“Who else knows Lilith?”

I bit my lower lip nervously, “I think the opposition does now.”
