ORIEF VADEUS POV

"They are arriving in a few minutes, would you like to greet them at the entrance?" Huxx's voice snapped me back to reality. I nodded my head and walked outside, actually dreading the arrival of these guests.  

The Wests were informed about this entire fiasco as soon as the basic examination of Felix was finished. She had sustained a major injury to her sides. She later explained that Miss DeLarge was carrying a small dagger hidden in her back and frustrated with Felix's victory she decided to come kill Felix right their and while Felix tried to dodge she got stabbed in her side multiple times.

I don't want to imagine what would have happened if Felix hadn't thrown her off in time. We rushed her to the medical wing where she had received her treatment and after everything finished I asked her to be shifted back in my room.

After almost 2 hours the other members of the West family have arrived and I am going down to receive them personally with Huxx. I haven't even reached the main door when the familiar scent alerted me of the arrival of Wests. The Alpha and his son were being escorted towards us.

Flynn averted his eyes as soon as he looked at me. On the other, the rage in Alpha West's eyes was visible. We all exchanged some tensed greetings and then I lead them to meet Felix.

As we walked back, Huxx slowed down and talked to Alpha West. It was clear he was very familiar with him as he quickly eased the alpha and explained the situation to him in detail. Soon we reached my room and Huxx walked past me to open the door. But I knew she was not inside. I had felt something missing the moment I entered the west wing.
"Here is she--- where did she go?" Huxx glanced back at me as if I would know.

"Where is my daughter, Alpha King?" Alpha West went up a few notches in the end.
"Well, she was supposed to be resting here. But she must have woken up and gone somewhere. I will go ask the guards if they have seen her." Huxx answered on my behalf and shuffled out of there with Alpha West hot on his tail.

Flynn stayed back with me. His brown eyes stared unblinkingly at me. Reminding me of his sister so much. After a silent moment, he spoke, "You know where she is right? The guards must have immediately told you if she moved."

Perspective as his sister, isn't he? "Yes, there were guards outside patrolling this entire corridor. I reduced the number because your sister finds them annoying. I don't know where she is, since everybody is asked to keep an eye on her and nobody has informed me anything. Which leads me to believe that she has slipped past unnoticed. But I have an idea as to where she might be." I answered him honestly. I like that kid way too much to let him worry in vain.

His body slumped, realising all the earlier tension, "Good. Let go to her then, shall we?"
I nodded and motioned him to follow me. " You were angry at me earlier?"

He stilled for a second, "Why would you think so, Alpha King sir?"

"You didn't look at me earlier and also your father is angry at me. I know. And it's valid. I just assumed you felt the same towards me."

"Actually, no I wasn't angry. On the other hand, I was disappointed. You promised to take care of her and she ends up injured in just one week." Those brown eyes were filled with emotions and honesty. Not realising that disappointment is worse than any amount of anger. "Then Huxx told the entire story and I realised it wasn't your fault but my happy-happy can be stubborn sometimes. She must have egged on the other person. She does that a lot when she is fighting people. Dad says that it will land her in more trouble now that she has become a queen."

"Thank you for being honest. But I do agree with you it was my fault in more ways than one." Flynn opened his mouth to speak something but I cut him off, "Don't. Also, be quiet, your sister is ahead we don't want to make more noise. Her head is still sensitive due to the medicine."

He shut his mouth comically and made an elaborate gesture of zipping it. I lead him towards my office door. I had a hunch she would be there. Earlier this week she had made some comments here and there about how she liked the balcony in the office. And my office is the only place where she could go and be unnoticed by the guards.

Opening the door I let the young west enter before I followed him in. There she was reclining in my chair, her tablet on her stomach like always. The meds must have knocked her out cause doesn't sleep for such a short amount of time.

I heard a small clicking noise, Flynn was taking pictures of Felix. When I asked him why the only answer I got was a chuckle. As always, I removed the tablet from her arms. Looking at her posture I know she is used to sleeping like that. But her injury is going to take more time to heal if she strains it so much. Debating the idea for a second, I lifted her bridal style being careful not to place my hands on the wound also not to bump her somewhere else.

Flynn was smiling at me when I saw him over Felix's head and snapping pictures on his phone. Moving as slowly as we can as to not jostle Felix we finally reached my room. I linked to Huxx that we have found our injured and to come to find us back in the room.

"Flynn give your phone a rest will you?" this kid has been clicking pictures of me and Felix left, right and centre.

"Your majesty I need to show Mum that my sister is not alone anymore." Mrs West, it's the first time I have heard any of the West mention her to me. I wanted to ask more about Flynn knowing he will answer me honestly. But we could hear the hurried footsteps of the worried father and I swallowed my curiosity for the time being.

"How are you Felix?" asked an anxious Alpha West.

"Alpha West I would request you to be quiet because she has just fallen asleep and if she wakes up now she won't sleep again," I warned him.

He nodded at me, abet reluctantly but he did. He came in and sat on the sofa beside the bed where I had been stationed before their arrival. While Huxx joined me and Flynn on the couch. All of us collectively looked at the injured woman. Huxx shifted in his seat no doubt trying to mellow down some of the stifling silence.

Before he could say anything, Felix shifted in her sleep and we all stilled. I knew it was not a good idea for so many people to stay in the room together with her.

"Rei?" her sleepy voice called me. Instinctively I got up and trying to keep the silence intact, hummed indicating my presence to her. "I am cold. Can I get my socks?"

Okay, she was not completely awake. I have seen Felix asking for stuff in a half-conscious state before and knew that socks weren't the only item she would demand. Yes, within a week of staying with me, this woman has taught me the drill.

Socks on her feet. An extra blanket over the top. Usually, she throws her shirt away but I am not going to do that in front of her father. And lastly, a small heating pad near her neck since it gets stiff easily. I reminded myself to keep an eye on the heating pad.

During the entire process, I tried to make as much less noise as possible, while all the other males handed me the required items. She teaches the drill to everyone I suppose.

After that, I left the room, but not before asking Alpha West to make himself at home and to ask Huxx for anything he may require. He didn't take me up on the offer and left the castle as soon as Felix woke up around midnight. His reason for leaving so early was that he can't leave his pack in the hands of a young beta. Honestly, it's always about work for all the Wests.

Take Felix for example. The queen has not taken a single day's rest from the moment she woke up. All the attempts to make her rest were futile. No one could get through to her. Not even Acimer's tiny princess, the 10-month-old, Lillian. Acimer and his wife, Charlotte, had been blessed with a cute nugget for a daughter and even she couldn't get the queen to rest more than her designated 4 hours of sleep.

Felix and Charlotte were getting along really well. They were so busy with each other that if I didn't know it was their first time meeting each other I would have assumed that they have known each other for years. It's only been a few days since she came back and yet it looks that Beta's house has already become their permanent hangout spot.

I was sent an s.o.s. by Charlotte to rescue her from an overwhelming Acimer. Detouring to the beta's house I tried to bring back the beta and reassure him that his wife and child are perfectly healthy.

It was then that it slipped my mouth that Felix isn't resting well. And thus the Beta Female assured me that she would try to use some methods of her own too. One such plan of hers was to try and convince the queen to help her and somehow get her to put little Lillian on a nap.

Instead of sleeping, Felix ended up carrying the baby for the entire day and had to see the doctor for some painkillers at night. 

To top it off the woman didn't even breathe for a second, literally. She had filed a legal complaint against Miss Delarge. She had dragged the entire seven-state council to the court to witness it and had smashed any ounce of pride left in the Delarge family.

She had a large number of evidence which proved that Miss Delarge was the one sending the threatening and crude emails to Felix after her first visit to me. Felix had been investigating the entire thing with Minister Cont. And I agree that that two on one team is a deadly combination.

 Even when that settled down she hasn't been sleeping. Her mornings starts before me and ends after me. She is moving back and forth to her pack and castle almost every two days. All the while rearranging the empty rooms in the west wing and taking up a ton of paperwork from every section of the ministry.

But what bothered me this entire time was two different things, first she has blocked her side of the bond again and second she was avoiding me.
