Like a wind

     you blow into my life

     and then leave

Leave me to deal

     with the aftermath

     of your presence

My heart bruised

     from your fierce embrace

     and my own heart's turmoil

Do you ache

when you are alone and quiet

    ....just like me

Do you pace

     remembering our embrace

     and wanting more

Do your shields

     protect your heart

     and contain your desires

Do your thoughts

     bombard your soul

     leaving you restless

Does your self denial

     give you solace

     in the dark night

Does distance

     serve you well

     when needs ache

Will you return

     to stir our stew

     and feed our souls

Or will we starve

     from neglect

     based on fear
