Your MC found a lost dog and ends up taking them in. They take it to the vet and find that they're micro chipped. They call the number associated with the chip, but no one answers. The vet and your NC leave a voice mail, and you take the dog home. After a few weeks, they don't get a call back. They decide to take in the dog as their own.

After getting the new information put on the microchip, your MC is taking the dog on a walk. A stranger (love interest/friend) suddenly runs across the street, yelling a name. The dog perks up and starts barking, pulling on the leash towards the love interest/friend. The stranger looks at your MC, an eyebrow raised. "What are you doing with my dog?" They asked.

Lillith would explain the situation and how they called the number on the chip. But she would definitely be annoyed with Cassandra, and would tell her that it's her fault for not updating the info on the chip.

Cassandra would definitely be pissed and tell Lillith off for not calling the number back if she genuinely cared about the dog. She would also tell Lillith that since she didn't update the microchip info, it was her own fault for it.

Theo would explain it, but would definitely be more sympathetic to Lillith about the situation. He'd be willing to go with Lillith to the vet to get the dog re-registered as her's.
