Timeskip 5 Years later

(Y/N) pov

I am coming home to Atlas after another successful mission and I can't wait to see my family. I ride through the main gate to the stables and see a retired (H/N) grazing peacefully. I dismount the new horse, but before I could undo the saddle, I hear a worried voice approach behind me.

Weiss: (Y/N), thank Oum, you're home!

(Y/N): Weiss calm down. It's ok, now whats got you worried.

Weiss: You didn't see Sterling or Lily did you?

(Y/N): No, I didn't. Has something happened?

Weiss: I've looked all over the house and grounds and I can't find them.

My eyes widen and now I am getting worried too.

(Y/N): Has Klein seen anything?

Klein: I think I heard the young master say they were exploring a cave today.

(Y/N): And you let them! Oh my Oum!

I get back on the new horse and ride towards the caves Klein specified. I get near the caves and then I hear unfamiliar but menacing voices and I then dismount and approach on foot. As I get closer I hear the voices again..

????: Here kiddie, kiddie.

I then hear a much younger voice as well as crying.

????: Raahhh!

????: *sobbing*

I move towards the voices as fast as I can.

Sterling pov

Bandit 1: Ha, ha, that was it!?

Bandit 2/3: *Laughing*

Bandit 1: Do it again, kill me.

I go to yell again, but instead of my voice being heard, I hear a louder, deeper almost roarlike yell. The bandits were confused

Bandits: Huh?

All of a sudden my dad jumps in hits them and starts swing his sword at them. Easily defeating them, dad now stands over them with a scowl on his face. The bandits are pleading for their lives, till my dad yells.

(Y/N): SILENCE!!

Bandit 2: Ok, we're shutting up now.

Bandit 1: We're really sorry-

(Y/N): If you ever come near my children again.

The bandits try to play dumb, only making dad more angry.

Bandit 1: Oh these are yours? *turns to bandit 2* Did you know that?

Bandit 2: No, you?

Bandit 1/2: Ed?

The bandit, known as Ed, only nods his head. Dad finally lets out a frustrated yell and the bandits trip over eachother to get away. I comfort Lily and then approach dad.

Sterling: Dad I-

(Y/N): You deliberatly disobeyed me.

Sterling: Dad I-I'm sorry.

(Y/N): Home Now!

We all walk out of the cave to (H/N) and dad gets Lily and I onto the saddle. He gets on himself and we ride home.

(Y/N) pov

We ride up through the gates and towards the manor. Weiss is anxiously waiting on the steps, as I get Lily down she runs up to our daughter and hugs her tightly.

Lily: Mama!

Weiss: Thank goodness your safe!

Sterling tries to get down but I keep him in the saddle and Weiss questions this.

Weiss: Hon?

(Y/N): I've got to teach our son a lesson.

Weiss just loses the confusion and nods and takes Lily inside. Sterling and I ride off to a special place I go to clear my head. We dismount and head to a large boulder, we sit on it and sit there in silence for a solid minute before I finally spoke.

(Y/N): Sterling, I am very disappointed in you.

Sterling: I know.

(Y/N): You could've been killed. You delibrately disobeyed me and what's worse you put Lily in danger.

Sterling: *voice breaking as he starts crying* I was just trying to be brave like you.

(Y/N): I am only brave when I have to be. Sterling, being brave doesn't mean you go looking for trouble.

Sterling: But your not scared of anything.

(Y/N): *sighs* I was today.

Sterling: You were?

(Y/N): Yes, I thought I might lose you and your sister.

Sterling: Wow, guess even heroes get scared, huh?

(Y/N): Uh huh.

Sterling: But, you know what?

(Y/N): What?

Sterling: I think those bandits were even scarder.

(Y/N): *chuckles* Cause nobody messes with your dad. COME HERE YOU!

I start tickling him while he tries to escape, when he does he tackles me off the rock. He chases me and then tackles me again.

Sterling: Got you!

I sit Sterling on my lap as I sit on the ground.

Sterling: Dad?

(Y/N): Yes?

Sterling: We're pals, right?

(Y/N): Haha, right.

Sterling: And we'll always be together, right?

I get a little bit more serious and look in my son's (E/C) eyes and tell him.

(Y/N): Son, let me tell you something that my grandfather told me.

I then look up at the sky and told Sterling.

(Y/N): Look at the stars, the heroes of the past look down on us from those stars.

Sterling: Really?

(Y/N): Yes. So whenever you feel alone, just remember that those heroes will always be there to guide you and so will I.

We ride back to the house and I see Weiss standing at the steps. I get Sterling down from the saddle and he runs to Weiss.

Sterling: Mama!

Weiss: Sterling, I am so glad you are safe. Come on dinners ready.

(Y/N): Great, I'm starved.

As Sterling goes inside, I surprise Weiss with a kiss on the lips. We kiss until the need for air overwhelmed us. We go inside and have family dinner, Weiss and I put Lily and Sterling to bed. I tell the kids a story about me and mom's adventures. I go to the master bedroom and Weiss is in bed, wearing a nightie. I get out of my armor and get into my pajamas, I get in bed and Weiss is reading. I crawl to her and scoop her up, she starts giggling and struggling. I start to kiss her shoulders, moving up her neck to her lips and she gives in and kisses back. We separate and I set Weiss back down on the bed, we then position ourselves under the blanket. I wrap my arms around her waist, but I could sense her restlessness.

(Y/N): Babe, are you alright?

Weiss: I have some wonderful news, my love.

(Y/N): Oh, and what pray tell is this wonderful news?

Weiss then guides my hand to her stomach and I feel a curve. At first I thought it may be stress eating, then my eyes widen in surprise as I realize what the curve really is.

(Y/N): Weiss, are you-

Weiss: Yes (Y/N), our family is about to get a little bigger.

I can hardly contain my excitment as she turns and smiles at me. I kiss her and she kisses back until the need for air arose. We separate and stare into eacothers eyes and smile.

(Y/N): I love you, Weiss.

Weiss: I love you too, (Y/N).

(A/N): And there you have it folks the final conclusion to what, for me, has been an amazing journey. I thourghly enjoyed every little bit of this and I hope you get to enjoy it as well.
