3 days later

At school

First class was off as the chemistry teacher was absent today. So the students of 11 A were let free. Some students headed to the library, some to the playground and others like manik and group were sitting idly on the staircase.

The atmosphere of the group had been gloomy these 3 days. Each individual kept to themselves and avoided talking unnecessarily.

In the present too, the atmosphere was so heavy because of everone's silence that mukti couldn't bear it anymore and decided to break the ice.

"so,guys lets just put an end to our maun vrats please." As mukti spoke everyone looked up to her. Seeing some of their faces, mukti wanted to laugh out loud, but she maintained a hard face , so that she could drop the bomb on them in the best possible way. "what? Don't look at me like that! I am just saying that i am submitting my form today, so if anyone wants i can submit their's too, so for that you will have to speak" she made a sarcastic face while quoting the word 'speak' in air with her two fingers. As she finished, some of them dug in their bag and took out their signed forms. Well, it included, alya, Dhruv, abhimanyu, MANIK AND NAVYA!!!
Nandini and cabir looked at them like they have grown two horns, while the duo maintained cute and innocent faces and others burst out laughing.

"MANIK!!!" nandini spoke in disbelief and snatched the form from him to check for herself if it was really signed. She stared at him like a fool after looking up from the form. While he gave her a puppy look.

"manik!! You monster!! Wait i am not gonna leave you!!" she said and ran after him who had already taken off seeing her mood.

While here cabir was like "tum sach mein arahi ho??"

And mukti replied "ni wo jhuth mein arahi hai!! Cabir....you dumbo!! Of course wo arahi hai...hum sabne kitne papar bele hain....tumhe kya pta!"

Cabir in excitement hugged navya, but then he experienced an 'electric shock' (not literally...:-P) and immediately pulled back. Navya was like 'what just happened!!' and others were like 'what a courageous move bro!'

Cabir spoke to divert everyone's attention from his embarrassment "but how did you guys manage such a herculean task yaar??"

And Dhruv began explaining....

"manik!! Wait!" nandini spoke huffing. He being long-legged was always out of reach, so she gave up (or so it seemed). Manik stopped seeing her breathless and jogged back to her "bas ho gya! Itni hi energy bachi thi??" he joked and she pounced on him, blowing punches at him.

"when physical strength is not enough, i use my brain, monster!!" she spoke proudly and amidst raining punches on him.

"acha! So you will cheat!!" he questioned while trying to grab her hand.

"everything is fair in love and war" she quoted the famous line , in a flow. Manik smirked "and this is definitely not a war" he said and she blushed.

Grabbing the opportunity, he finally caught hold of her wrist and pulled her towards himself with a jerk and she crashed on his chest. He looked down and saw her face buried in his chest , he gently held her chin and made her look in his eyes.

"it's love, right??" he asked innocently. Her blush grew prominent and she looked down turning away from him. He walked closer from back and his chest touched her back. He bent down to the level of her ears and as he spoke his breath over her ear tickled her, so she closed her eyes tight.

"you didn't answer me, nandini"
oh god the husk in his voice when he took my name, will make me insane!
Before nandini could say anything, they heard few sounds, so manik backed off immediately. The voices were getting closer and nandini looked at manik for any ideas. He pulled her behind the pillar. Nandini stood with her back to the pillar, and front was brushing against his chest as he tried to cover her . he had palmed her mouth, so she only stared at his face, as he shifted his weight on his legs and sneakily looked behind the pillar to see if the workers carrying the benches and desks went away or not.

Finally as he saw them out of sight, he huffed "that was close" he said and looked at her. He was awestruck by the view. She was staring at him with her big big eyes . not for once complaining about his palm over her mouth. He was so close to her that his own lips were touching the back of his palm. He withdrew his palm slowly. They, not for once , broke the eye contact. He was the first to break the eye contact only to look at her quivering lips. Nandini came out of her trance with that and moved past him shyly, hoping that he would approach her again.

On the other hand as she moved away, manik thought that he was going too fast and she didn't like it, so he reprimanded himself mentally for being such an opportunist. He thought of making it up, so he spoke awkwardly , "ummm, let's go, our friends must be waiting"
As she heard that she felt disappointed. But she quickly covered it up and turned around with a fake smile. "ok let's go"

Manik got a little confused with her tone, but anyways he thought he was over thinking. They started walking back together.

"tumne pucha ni...that how i got the permission to go" he said to start a conversation. Nandini looked at him and said "you are coming, itna hi kafi hai...what's and how's se mujhe ni deal karna" . she smiled heartily this time and manik felt relaxed.
....

"itni jaldi wapas agye tum dono??" cabir asked sarcastically seeing them. Manik rolled his eyes.

"cabir you should thank heavens ki atleast aa toh gye...." abhi spoke.

Nandini had her hands on her hips now.

"and our cabir is back!!" mukti exclaimed happily.

"cabir...! tum bhul gye...navya is my bestfriend..." nandini indirectly threatened him and seeing cabir's face , manik burst out laughing.

"guys, see ,this is US, few minutes back i was feeling that i am sitting with some strangers!!" alya spoke drawing everyone's attention.

"com'on its time for a group hug" manik said spreading his arms and all of them rushed to him, except navya. Nandini saw her standing alone , so she pulled her in "com'on tumhe special invitation du kya!!" nandini said and navya smiled.

After a few minutes

"i will get my form signed and bring tomorrow" nandini said.

"yeah me too!" cabir added.

"then we will all submit tomorrow itself. What say guys??" Dhruv proposed.

"absolutely!" others chorused.

Ok i know i have not given the description as to how manik and navya got their forms signed. I have saved that revelation for a later day.
