They stayed in each other's arms quietly for a long period of time until Nandini spoke looking nowhere in particular.

Nan-Manik.........

In reply he "hhmmed" and started caressing her scalp. While Nandini said.

Nan-why did you make such a big house....... hum ghar k teen member hai.........itne saare guards and butlers..........ghar walo se zayda toh house help hai hamare pass.........if we would have had a small house toh itna sab zarurat nhi lagta..........why a mansion?

Manik looked at her and replied.

Ma-big house isliye hai.........so that you can scream whenever you want to.

Saying that he tickled her again and came a bit on her as well, laughing loudly but they soon stopped it.

He looked at a smiling Nandini and then rested back again. After a moment Nandini said a bit shyly.

Nan-I want to scream or you make me scream.

Manik smiled at first a bit, continuing his caressing of her scalp, then he looked at her and said slyly.

Ma-baat toh ek hi hai na.

And then he winked to which Nandini lightly slapped his chest. They giggled again and the finally sleep over took them, ending a beautiful surprise date night for Nandini.

Next morning was usual with lots of Manan's romance, the intruder on the tree was same and noticing every action. Manan were on their respective work too. It was mid-afternoon, when Manik was informed that one of the very good clients have come to visit them.

Mr.and Mrs. Rasik Fernandez. An Parsi couple. They were an old client of Malhotra. They themselves were oldies. Mr Malhotra knows them very well as they are doing business with each other since years now.

Manik realised their importance in their business very soon and he realised that these people are very kind in nature as well. That's why when Manik was informed about their sudden visit, he left all his work and asked Chetan to escort them in his cabin as Mr Malhotra is not present and also get some good refreshments.

While they were being bought to his cabin, Manik made himself presentable even though he looked like greek god. Anyways they entered and Manik came till the door of his cabin to welcome them. Mr. Fernandez entered first and behind him followed his wife. Manik held the hand of aunty to help her in walking.

Once the trio were in closed cabin, Manik hugged uncle first and then aunty. They exchanged pleasantries and casual how are you's and then Manik bought them to his couch in the cabin.

After settling down, they chatted on few questions like how's dad, where's he, congratulations to wedding, how's business, what's up with the couple and such stuffs. Btwn their conversation, chetan bought lavish refreshments for them. After some 15 mins of time pass. The couple forwarded a beautiful card to Manik, which had written on it "Malhotra's" and then they said.

U-agle mahine hamara shadi ka 50th anniversary hai.........isliye we came to invite you.

Manik was genuinely happy to see a couple reaching 50 years of togetherness, he took the card and congratulated them wholeheartedly. After another round of hugging, the couple said.

U-since tumhare daddy nhi hai.........you will have to come........I'll be waiting for your presence.

Immediately aunty said.

A-apni biwi ko bhi lana........usse kehna aunty ne khaas bolaya hai.........lao mei uska naam card pe likh deti ho........toh woh zarur aayegi.

She forwarded her hand to take the card back to write Nandini's name but it won't look good to give the card back to put it as stamp on by writing the name, that's why with a smile Manik said.

Ma-arey aunty iski zarurat nhi hai........mei Nandini ko bolunga.........aur apne sath lekar bhi aaoga........pakka.

A-thik hai........tum bolte ho toh........but ab tumhari zimmedari hai........apni wife ko lana.

To joke uncle said.

U-haan tu nhi aayega toh chalega but wife ko bhej dena.

On this everybody laughed. After this the couple got up to leave and Manik too got up. After exchanging a few small talks abt venue, couples next visit for invitation and all, they reached the door. Manik opened the door and also walked out with them.

In fact he came till their car to see off them. After they left, Manik came back in his cabin and first looked at the invitation. The card looked elegant. He read the contents and got back to his work.

At 6.00 pm, when he was leaving the office, he carefully took the card with him and came home. When Nandini opened the door for him, she saw Manik walking yet he was far, that's why she could see his whole body and along with that she noticed something white and big in his hand.

Looking at her, Manik smiled and soon reached to her, immediately taking her in a tight hug, he rested himself on her while Nandini wrapped her hands around his back. Staying quiet for a few seconds Manik said.

Ma-without you........things makes me tire so much.

Nandini smiled at his lines and then broke the hug. They looked at each other and before Nandini could say anything Manik picked her up and came to their room. Resting on the bed for a while, Nandini got up saying.

Nan-chalo freshen up........I am sure you must be hungry.........I have made snacks for you....... waise did you eat your lunch on time.

While getting up she was saying all this and then she was about to move away but Manik instantly held her wrist. He was laying down straight but in a swift got up and held her wrist. Then holding her wrist he sat on his knees, then walking on his knees on the bed he got down and then he back hugged her and showed her the covered invitation card.

Ma-actually.........aaj Fernandez uncle and aunty aaye the.

They were just names for Nandini as she hardly knows any clients of Malhotra's, while Manik said further.

Ma-they are very old clients of dad........and kind of good friends.

Nandini waited for him to complete his purpose.

Ma-after a month.......they are going to celebrate their 50th anniversary..........and yeh ussi ka invitation hai..........

Saying this he eyed the invitation while Nandini still stood silent.

Ma-on their anniversary........every year........ dad jate hai so hume itna pata nhi chalta hai..... but this year since he is not there.........they told us to come.........they have made a special request to get you to the party........like bahut request ki hai.........toh kya tum chalogi mera sath party mei.

Saying that he made cute, innocent pouty face. Since Nandini never attended any such parties, it was difficult to conclude that she might come to this party as well. Nandini smiled at his face and then said after acting of thinking.

Nan-ek shart par.

Manik was a bit surprised that for going out with him Nandini had kept a condition but for now anything so he said.

Ma-kaisi shart?

Nan-party k liye outfit tum choose karoge.

Manik was the happiest. It was not a condition to go with him in the party but her different way of saying him that she will wear what he likes. The smile didn't leave his face and he said.

Ma-with all the pleasure.

With that he kissed her cheek.

Then Manik was about to go to freshen up but when he moved away from her, Nandini held his wrist this time.

Nan-you have to choose from the cupboard and not order from the designer.

Knowing him very well she said that to which Manik made a pouty face as he was planning of calling the best designer. Seeing his expressions Nandini said.

Nan-Manik........abhi shadi mei kitne new outfits banvaye hai tumne........amms ne bhi itne gift kiye hai.........pehle k kapde itne hai...... unmei se aadhe toh meine pehne bhi nhi hai..... plus party outfits alag..........I am sure jitne kapde mere pass hoge utne kisi aur k pass hoge.

Manik tried to oppose.

Ma-but Nandini..........

She interrupted btwn and said cutely.

Nan-Manik.........either you choose from that or else I will choose myself.

Ma-no I will choose.

Nan-okay..........but no cheating........you will not call any designer and make a surprise or something like that........promise?

Ma-fine promise.

With time, Nandini had taught Manik the value of a promise, that's why Manik never breaks a promise and Manan with each other takes special care of not breaking or cheating in the promise. This bring another level of trust btwn them and now since Manik has promised her, she knew he will not call the designer. Pinching his cheek lovingly she said sweetly.

Nan-thank you.........for being so sweet and obedient.

With this she handed him the towel and Manik left to get changed. Meanwhile Nandini came downstairs to serve the snacks for him. After freshening up, Manik came down to see a full meal snacks ready. He filled his plate making Nandini confused. After that he picked up his cup of tea and walked towards living room along with saying.

Ma-i am watching tv.

With that he came in living room, place his food on the small table and switched on the tv and sat comfortably on the couch. He started surfing channels and then stopped at some random movie.

He picked up his plate and started eating. Soon Nandini joined him at the couch and along with watching tv they were eating their evening snacks. After eating they kept their plates back on the table and got lost in watching the movie.

So much that they didn't realise that it's 8.00 pm. Thanks to Nandini that she had already prepared the breakfast, that's why she could relax completely. At 8.30 pm, Manik felt hungry again and that's why Nandini decided to serve dinner as well.

She bought the entire dinner on the table near the couch, so it was very easy for them to eat properly along with watching tv. Due to watching and eating, it took double the time for dinner than they usually take.

But since Mr Malhotra was not around, a bit of bending the rules was okay. After dinner, Nandini sat for a while watching the another movie. After few mins, advertisements started that's when she got up and started wrapping up the dinner mess, while Manik was lazily spreaded on the couch and was chatting with fab5 on their group.

Soon Nandini called Mr Malhotra and after some casual talk she gave the call to Manik. The father-son duo talked their things and ended the call.

Around 10.15 pm, Manik started yawning and Nandini was feeling tired as well. Both decided to take the bed as their eyes were dropping. Closing the tv, Manan got up, closed everything and then headed upstairs.

Since they were in their night wear, the simply came and fell on the bed. Taking comfortable position they slept in each other's arms peacefully.

Being in deep slumber, after an hour, Nandini who was hugging Manik and sleeping, turned her position. Now her back was resting on Manik's front body but still she was in his arms.

Again after few mins, now Manik turned his position. He slept straight with his right hand under Nandini's head. Again after some time, Nandini turned her position. She moved away from Manik and also raised her leg a bit upwards and slept comfortably.

Nandini's leg position is like this......not on Manik but on bed.

Then Manik changed his position. He turned to the opposite side from the side he slept. Now both Manan were sleeping back facing each other.

It's mid night and together Manan changed their position. Again they faced each other and came close, back in each other's arms.

On feeling her again, inspite of being in deep deep sleep, Manik mumbled as if asking.

Ma-Nandini?

Nandini too replied being in deep sleep.

Nan-Hhmm........

On hearing that, though both spoke and heard but their conscious mind didn't hear or say so they are not going to remember this in the morning. Anyways on getting her reply, Manik placed a warm kiss on her vermilion and both slept again in each other's warmth.
