Stole from my Tyler Imagines

I have anxiety. Or, that's what I have to tell my land lord at my apartment in order to have pets. I already have a cat, a fat one, named Skittles. I thought it was time to get her a friend, a dog friend. Not only because of her, but because I was on the verge of getting seventy one more cats because of a break up. And one cat was enough. My mom told me their was a black and white Great Dane, female, at the nearest Pet Adoption Center. Great Dane are known for being apartment dogs that don't bark loudly. But, I've had one - two, before. "What's her name again?" I asked in the phone.

"Her name is Stella sweetheart, I told the lady you were coming today to get her. If you have any questions about her, ask the lady okay?"

"I will mom," I asked. "Is dad mad you helped me with getting her? You know I'll pay you guys back right? I do every time."

"No. But that reminds me, when's your next payday?"

"Thursday," I spoke. "I'll pay my bills and then pay you guys back."

"So you'll be coming over?" She asked.

"Yeah," I said. "Do you want me to buy something you make?"

"Oh, no, I have to go shopping later, so we'll have food for that night."

"Okay. Well, I'll see you Thursday."

"Okay, bye sweetheart, I love you."

"Love you too mom," I hung up,  getting into my truck.

I drove about twenty minutes to the Adoption Center. I walked in seeing a few people sitting, and a man walking into where the cages were with another man, who I assume is a worker. I walked to the desk. "Hi, my name's  (Y/N) (L/N). I'm here to pick up Stella, a Great Dane."

She pushed the keys on the keyboard and smiled up at me. "Walk back with me and we'll get your little sweetheart." Another worker took over the computer as the lady lead me to where the cages were. "Okay, so, she's a hyper puppy, but she loves to cuddle. Have you ever had a Great Dane before?" She asked.

"When I was younger and living with my parents we had a couple of them."

"Nice, so, do you know that they like to pick who they want to, like, protect, or just go to in general?"

"Yeah, our first picked my mother, and our second picked me."

"She might be curious at first, because she gets excited and doesn't know what to do, but I'm sure she'll be as sweet and cute as a button for you." We walked up to her cage. She was sitting and waging her tail, and my heart just melted at the site of her. Next to us, there was a man, looking at another dog. He looked over and smiled.

"Do you like dogs?" He asked. "Does this one look like me? Happy and ambitious?" He chuckled. "I'm Mark."

"She does kinda look like that," I laughed. "I'm (Y/N)."

The lady helping me with my pup unlocked her cage and handed me Stella. "There you go," she smiled.

"What's this dogs name?" Mark asked.

"She doesn't have a name yet," she said. "She's a year old who we found on the streets, but she's really cuddly and sweet."

"Can I come back for her tomorrow?" Mark asked. "I'd like to buy her some things first, like food, a bed. And may I name her Chica?"

"Yes, we'll put it in the computer and put an adopted sign on her cage."

"Thank you," Mark smiled.

We both walked out at the same time. "Can we like, hang out some time?" Mark asked. "You're just, interesting, to me." He chuckled, "I'm sorry, I'm silly."

"No, no, we can. I can hang out tomorrow after work. Does three sound good?" I asked.

"Where do you work?"

"I work at a bouquet uptown," I smiled.

"Three it is then."

Stella was at the edge of the bed, chewing on her chewtoy I bought her earlier. The only light on in the room was the one of my nightstand, so I could see what I was reading within my book. I yawned. "Okay babies, we've got to go to bed," I said. Petting the husky cat on my lap and watching the small, soon to be big, puppy crawl over to my side.

The next morning, almost seven, I got up and let Stella outside. I made coffee and read the news online. At seven thirty, I put Stella in her cage and contacted my neighbor, also known as my best friend Vinnie, to come and check on her and let her outside. "Goodbye guys," I blew a kiss to the apartment and left to my vehicle.

"(Y/N)," my manager, Kelly, spoke. "Can you do me a quick favor?"

"Yup, what is it?"

"Can you run the cash register for a few minutes, someone just left without paying," she said.

"Yeah, of course," I said, walking behind the counter. A customer came in. "Hello, welcome to The Bouquet. If you have any questions, I'm here to help."

"Hi, I actually do have a question," she smiled. She was a short old lady, with short curly grey hair. "Do you have any planting seeds for marigolds?"

"We do. If you go through this first isle here, they're in with the seeds section. If you need any further help, Charlie, a co-worker, should be in that isle and should be able to help."

"Thank you so much sweetheart."

"My pleasure ma'am," I smiled.

"That'll be $20," I said, putting small gardening tools into a brown paper bag. "Have a nice day."

"You too young lady," the man smiled.

Kelly came back with some money in her hands and smiled. "How'd it go?" She asked me, taking over the job again.

"It went very well," I smiled. I looked down the seed isle and the lady was still sitting there. "Do you still need help?" I asked.

"Oh yes," she said. "I looked for the gentleman named Charlie, but I can't find him."

"Hmph. Well, I'll help you," I smiled. I walked over to the seeds and found what she was looking for. "How many packages would you like?" I asked.

"Just two please," she smiled.

I pulled two from the rack and handed them to her. "I was glad to help."

"Thank you so much, again."

"No need to thank me," I smiled. I walked over to Kelly after the lady had payed. "So, Charlie wasn't in the seed isle like usual."

"Oh? He was here earlier, and wonder where he went," we watched him come through the front doors.

"Speak of the devil."

"What?" Charlie said, pushing his hair back.

"You were supposed to be here, not on break," Kelly announced. "Cleaning duties, now. And if someone needs help in the seed isle, you help them, you hear me?"

"Yes ma'am!"

Kelly and I giggled.

The time struck three o' clock. "Have a nice rest of your day (Y/N)," Kelly said, handing me my purse.

"You too," I said. "We still on for this weekend?"

"Sure are," she winked.

I walked outside, the smell of flowers hit my nose. "Hey," Mark got up from the bench.

"Oh hi," I smiled. "We never exchanged numbers, did you want to?"

"Sounds great," he said, pulling out his phone.

We exchanged numbers.

A few months flew by and Mark and I got to know each other very well. "I feel like a teenager who has a best friend, and we visit each other's houses and spend the night and it feels nice."

"Except were adults," he chuckled.

"Yes," I said, laughing.

Mark rolled over into his side. "Is it wrong of me to say anything to do with love?" He asked. "Like, I know it's been a few months,  but I feel like I've known you for years."

"I don't care. Go ahead, say it."

"I think I'm in love with you."

Then a year went by. "Mark!" I called into his house, walking in. He texted me saying he wanted to do something, but had to come to his house first.

He came flying down the stairs with a giant smile on his face. "Lets go," he pulled me outside and dragged me to his car, where he drove us to Margos.

"I'll have a diet coke," I smiled to the waitress.

"Just a coke please."

The waitress walked away. "Okay, now tell me what you wanted to say you oaf," I laughed.

"(Y/N), will be be my girlfriend?" He asked straight foward.

It caught me off guard. I smiled. "Since it's you, and I love you, yes."

He leaned over the table and gave me a soft kiss on the lips.

If you saw a Tyler, or cat, please tell me.
