Manik pov – My hands are shaking in fear , every step am waking down , It feels makes me that am near to my end , I cant tell dad that how I failed my board exams , He would be pissed that is for sure but what about this party ? I cleared only 3 subjects out of six,And Cabir I cant even think of his condition right now .Few minutes back , he messaged me saying " dude my parents are like a volcano ",after hearing his words I was pretty sure that even I will turn up into a chicken after dad will know about my result . Now I will be lagging one year , one year of my life will be wasted and dad's self esteem Oh god I didn't even think of it .Ok when I have created all this mess and then I should be daring enough to clear my shit , But What will say him that I fell down from the first step of my success and fell into mud of failure .

All the guests have entered, but am still confused why is all the decorations in pink theme , I mean pink and white combination looks good, but its more like of celebrating a two year old kid's birthday . No No manik don't think of all these know think how I should cool dad, And mom I don't know how I will show my face to her.

I was busy in facepalming myself that I didnt even notice nandini coming out of her room with mom , why is she dressed up like princess? She is looking nice without her specs , but if its my party then why is she dressed up all like a doll for the party .I wanted to go and ask her , but mom is with her if I will go near her then mom will not leave me , that is for sure she would directly question me " Manik are your results out ?" Then boom I will be tounge tied , first thing shall I tell them or escape from here .And mostly the whole house is almost packed , no one will notice if I will be gone missing RIGHT !

Nandini pov – Where is Manik am waiting for his wishes , but he is now her to be found ? Ughhhhh, I cant even go to his room as aunty is with me . If I will I ask then she would question me WHY ?

Am all pretty but I miss mom and dad , they promised me that my 12 birthday would be damn exciting , But all my happiness excitement sank like a paper boat , which sinks in water in less than 2 minutes .I wish you were here with me mama, You always told me right that friendship should be done with worthy people , and Manik is that friend of mine , Even cabir but I still Prefer Manik OVER Cabir .

Raj Pov – Manik Where are you ? Everyone is asking about you and here am not answerable to anyone . And your results are still unknown to me. I just wish you clear all your subjects , Because I know your Intelligence level .

All my worry flew away when I saw love of my live Neyonika ascending down with Nandini , I threw up this party just for her I didn't want her to be gloomy on this day .But there was hint of tension on Neyonika's face ,she was glancing all around her left and right I think she is bothered about his results .

Manik pov – I never ever thought , I will run away from my own party in my house , I just have this annoying feeling in my heart that " I should tell dad but am scared of his reaction " Shall I tell ? Because escaping this time from my own house is also very difficult and I literally feel that am a THEIF and mom she is just turning her head left and right like she is doing some neck exercise , Ufffff My life is so tough .

All my attention was now flew towards dad , he is holding mike in his hands as usual my old man , there is a glint of happiness in his face , is it because of me that I passed, but what if he will know that I didn't make it , I didn't knew when tears made their way from my eyes , ugghh I never thought that I will again cry in my life after I hit my adolscense stage .

Raj – Good evening ladies and gentle man , Neyonika please bring our birthday princess over here

Manik – Birthday princess? What is he saying ? is this party for nandini and most important " Today its her birthday " How didn't I knew about it .And dad organised the party for her but not for me and now she has all attention wow just great , this is what left out in my life now .

Why did she have to be left alive ,why didn't she die with her parents .I may sound jealous freak , but I don't care THIS IS WHAT I AM "MANIK MALHOTRA "I don't like anyone having my attention , my love and this is what nandini doing right now she is stealing it all away from me .why didn't dad leave her in hostel , what was the need for him to bring her in my house ?

Manik went downstairs in rage without caring , that if he did any stupid act that would bring shame over his family and a "HOT TOPIC " for people to gossip . He even forgot that his aim was to escape from the party .

Raj – Neyonika where is Manik ?

Neyonika – There he is

Raj – I think he is bringing the strom with himself , neyonika handle the party for few second I need to control his teenage ass before he does any mistake .

Neyoniak (worriedly)- why do you say that ?

Raj – look at his walking style , and his eyes you will know everything .

Nandini pov – He came , Manik came he is here to wish me and celebrate my birthday right , But aunty said he went to get a present for me right then where is it ?

Neyonika was pressing her fingers together , she was giving a fake sile to everyone , but her attention was now shifted to nandini , since nandini pulled her saree .

Neyonika – Nandini you want anything ?

Nandini – Why didn't Manik get a gift for me,And why is that uncle taking him upstairs , did he forget my gift ? He dint even wish me .

Neyonika – No dear , he didn't he forgot to get the gift from upstairs I think .

Nandini – You think

Nandini pov- I don't need any gift , If he would wish me it would be enough for me now .

OTHER SIDE

Manik pov – I was so in busy ins staring at Nandini's face ,who was smiling at people and didn't even spare me a look , I didn't see dad who was walking towards me with confusion written on his face , But he was covering it up to guests by his fake smile ,and then he drags me by my wrist upstairs making me baffled , I wanted to ask him and I could not keep my mouth shut

manik – Dad "where are you taking me "?

Raj – I think I should ask you that manik ?

Manik – Dad now why did you bring me to your room ?

Raj – Don't give me your attitude manik , I am not intimated by your teenage attitude .

Manik defends himself - I dont mean that you know .

Raj – I very well know it manik , now tell me aren't your result out 30 minutes back ,And I don't find you coming to me or your mom stating us about your results .

Manik's eyes were wide as saucers

Manik stammers – dad I I

Rak looks at him suspiciously , when he heard his son's stammering voice – you what ? " Manik don't test my patience , you know am not a patient man "

Manik – I did my best

Raj widens his eyes – you failed

Manik nods looking down at the floor . His eye lids were holding back his tears tightly from being falling down

Raj - you failed how come manik malhotra , did'nt I tell you to take tution classes ? no you wanted to rule your ridiculous ass over my words , as you quote " DAD AM GROWN UP I CAN DECIDE WHAT IS FOR MY BEST " And at the end this is the result when I hear your words .

Manik pov – Am fucking scared like a kitten now , Dad as rubbing his forehead furiously obviously due to tension , but not due to anger if he would have been angry with me , then I would not have been alive now that too in one piece .

Manik – dad , did you organize the party for nandini ?

Raj angrily – yes , but I don't think now that I can celebrate it properly ,and you are the cause of it .

Manik (crying )-dad

Raj (angrily)-No don't act innocent , what is wrong with you manik ? you failed your board exams .

Manik pov – I had no words , so I had to shut my mouth down there .

Manik – am sorry dad

Raj – no just shut up tomorrow morning you will be leaving to boarding school .

Manik looks at his father shockingly – but

Raj – shut up and don't spoil nandini's birthday mark my words .

Manik pov – he is concerned about her , I hate you NANDINI MURTHY .

Manik pov – It hurt when he said that , nandini is responsible of this mess,If she would not have entered in my life , may be I could have concentrated on my exam .may be I could have passed and right now I would have celebrated it but no she has to make my life hell right .

If dad will tell me anything I swear to god I will blame everything on nandini's head . I don't care whether its her birthday or not , To survive in this world 'EVERYTHING IS FAIR IN LOVE AND WAR' And here its war so I don't mind .

Raj – I don't know what I will do with you manik ? Nandini is best when compared to you.

Manik pov- my legs were frozen after I heard dad's words , he wants me to send boarding is he crazy? No I wont let dad do that to me , No nanidni you are the cause for all and you will leave this ouse not me I will also see , how you will now stay in my house .

But now I need to deal with dad, he is a sensitive case for me , I understand that he is upset ,angry with me but even he needs to understand right my words , my point of view.

Raj – I don't want you there downstairs , I don't care manik now if you even widen your eyes. Am your father now I will do what is the best for you ? And this time everything will go in my way not yours .

Manik – Are you ashamed of me ?

Raj pov – his words stopped me right over there , he thinks that am ashamed of him ,Is this the reason they say teenagers are always like glass 'HANDLE WITH CARE ' situation .If its like this then am not among that parent who will let their child do anything they want . I will not bend myself infront of you manik .

Never A child can understand their parent's point if view, am not ashamed of you amnik ,I dont want you to embrassed down over their people will ask you about all this .And seeing their child ashamed is the last thing in a parent's life to witness it , and I wont let you witness it and not Neyonika .

Raj (sternly )- think what ever you want manik , I don't care .

Manik (crying)- to you your pride is important than me , fisting his palms .

Raj walks out of the room without answering his question

Manik (angrily )- you don't want me to spoil that Nandini's birthday right , but I will dad am sorry .I fucking don't care now that if I hurt her .

Any way I will be leaving tomorrow right , so why don't I gift you your birthday gift ? Hmmm you love surprise right then let me give you one .

DOWN STAIRS –

Raj – nandini lets cut the cake

Neyonika – raj where is manik ,am worried about him ?

Raj (tensed )- he is fine , I need to tell you something but I will tell you later after the party .

Neyonika – what is it ? you are making me more tensed .

Raj sighs – please lets just cut the cake .

Neyonika nods at him

Neyonika – nandini dear cut the cake

Nandini – no I want manik with me

Raj – nanidni

Nanidni – uncle please you said its my birthday right

Neyinikaa – please call him raj , even am desperate to see him .

Raj pov – I dont know how shall I explain these both , And even neyoniak she is not understanding but nandini today its her birthday , I promised your father nandini I will give you all the happiness I will try to keep manik in control.

Raj – ok fine

Nandini smiles at him brightly

Nandini pov – manik yes I will celebarte my birthday with him . I am so excited to cut my cake with him , Everytime mom and dad were beside me But this time I will cut it with manik .

UPSTAIRS

Manik – why does all this happen to me and cabir ?

Damn my phone is ringing now at this stupid time , I want to smash it to near by wall , but then I realized it might be cabir's call , I was shocked when I saw the screen flashing dad's name .I gulped my saliva down ,because I felt that am choking on my own saliva which is stupidity .

With my shivering hands I lifted his call

Manik – yes dad

Raj – come down nandini wants to cut her cake with you.

Manik pov – Nandini you witch !

Raj – Am I clear to you ?

Manik sighs – Yes dad

Raj –And manik remember one more thing no nuisance , I don't want you to do anything stupid .

Manik pov- I will definitely ,And I will also see how you will stop me .

Manik – yes dad and hangs the call

Manik – nandini get ready my little bride am coming , oooops gift don't need to worry I have the biggest surprise for you , and smirks .
