Abhiram pov

As I was mourning over what I have heard, that's when I heard a sound and felt a sudden pain in my left cheek. I looked up to find the owner of the hand prints on my cheek to be my wife..

"Not a word more Ram. What's with you, ahh??" she yelled at me and I just stood their shocked. It's very rare that she loses her cool; but when she does, then you are screwed. That's exactly my situation now.

"SO YOU ARE NOT HAVING ANYONE?  WHAT DID YOU SAY, YOU ARE A NOBODY?  LIKE, REALLY? THEN WHAT ABOUT THAT MOTHER AND FATHER WHO LOVE YOU TO MOON AND BACK?  WHAT ABOUT BHAI WHO SUPPORTS YOU ON ALL YOUR DECISIONS; AND WHAT ABOUT BHABHI WHO FEELS THAT YOU ARE HER ONLY BROTHER IN THIS WORLD.... AND EACH AND EVERYONE IN THE FAMILY WHO LOVES YOU?   AND WHAT ABOUT ME THEN?!... Ram does only relation by blood matters? I know blood is thicker than water; but more than that, relations made by heart is stronger. You know why? Because it's something you choose for yourself; it's something you voluntarily bind and not something you are forced to bind with. Just because you got to know that you are not related to them by blood, all the love and trust they had in you vanished to thin air. Like, really Ram?"  I stood their listening to her words feeling guilty.

" But Samu... I ..."

" Now what more, that worthless Mr. Suryan had fed you with??" and I stood their shocked at that, but I want her to let it out.

Samaira Pov 

I quickly brought the files I have with me against that Mr. Suryan. 

" Now see this..These are his records. You tell me; should you believe a man who has had a history of physical abuser and much more?? See the files for yourself and decide on whom you have to believe. " I was about to walk away; that's when it striked me what I had blurted out. Oh God !!

And Ram got hold of my hands the next moment.

"YOU KNEW " he spit those words out like venom and pulled me close to him.

" You are right Samu, I really need to check on the people I believe and trust because they seem to break my trust up so conveniently"

"Ram ...I "

"SHH.... not a word more.... You had all your time to explain these. WAS THIS THE REASON YOU AGREED TO THIS MARRIAGE?"

"COME ON.... ANSWER ME, DAMN IT. WAS THIS THE REASON?" his hold on me tightened and I flinched at his tone. The last time I faced his wrath was 10 years ago but then I was not at fault but today I am. I just nodded my head because I couldn't trust my words today.

" Why Samu... Why now??  You know what all I planned today ... leave it. Didn't you and Mama trust me a little? Did you guys really think I would have blindly believed that guy with no backdrop? Was that the trust you guys had with me?"

" And the evidence that you have placed in front of me. YOU KNOW WHAT'S MORE WORSE THAN KNOWING THAT THE BLOOD THAT RUNS THROUGH YOU IS OF A BASTARD WHO IS BEEN THE REASON THAT YOUR OWN MOTHER IS NOT THERE WITH YOU?  THE THING THAT THE PEOPLE WHO I HAVE TRUSTED ALL MY LIFE DOESN'T RECIPROCATE THE SAME?" and I didn't have anything to say in my defense.

"Samu, the reason I was upset was because  he began spitting all those stuff about him being  knowingly or unknowingly mentioned about mama faking things; and on my further investigation I got to know that the day she was admitted, she wasn't that serious and the operation was all a setup between mama and papa which was not known to anyone. But I doubt that now."

" Now you have just added up to my miseries,Samu. I don't know what I feel for you now, you have so easily broke my trust. But didn't you have some self-respect left? You just agreed to get married to me, promising me your whole life;  so that you could keep this from me all your life. Or did you have plans to leave me?  Now did you..." and with that I slapped him again. Wow!! Two slaps a day , great!!

" Well if you're done with your accusation; you are gonna hear me. "and I told him what happened that day,

That day

I was hell confused with this sudden thought of mama and was thinking of  an excuse to come out of this; because I knew neither me nor he would be happy if we are forced into something like this... That's when mama called me to her room, and things she said next shocked me to hell.

" Maira, if the only problem is that Abhi is your cousin, then he is not."

"Mama what are you saying?I mean,is this some kind of a joke?"

"No,beta.I am not related to him by blood. There are things that you should know" 

And she started telling about the past and it was no less than a Bollywood Movie.

After hearing out, of how that Suriyan had feigned love with Mama's friend Shobha; who was a naive girl hailing from Kerala who came to Rajasthan for her higher studies. She trusted him blindly and they eloped because her parents didn't agree to this alliance; but after that  he started showing his true colours to her by brutally abusing her, when he got to know that her father abandoned her from all shares that she hailed. He even went to the extend of selling her. That's when she took a stand and fled from him; but at the same time she got to know that she was carrying Abhi... later she approached Mama out of  no other option.  Mama supported her both emotionally and financially; but later on when her father died, he altered the will and wrote all his properties on Abhi's name. The small boy became owner of  properties worth crores and crores even before he was born; but the thing that mattered was, Abhi only  had  the right to it when he turned 27 and when he was settled in life. And if by any chance he is not able to take up the property ;or if something happens to him before that, then the rights goes to his guardian.

Unfortunately that reached the ears of greedy Suriyan who was in hunch of his wife and the wealth in her stomach. That's what he thought of his own blood. Now Shobha who was heavily pregnant had to go through a complicated  delivery and the stage reached where only one among them could be saved. Though they decided to save Shobha , she couldn't make it. Luckily Abhi was safe and the last words of Shobha Aunty was that Abhi should be safe and should never know about Suriyan. That's when Mama promised to look after Abhi and be his parents. That was the last she could do for her friend , and Papa agreed to this as he also knew how badly his wife needed another child; but she couldn't conceive because of early complications. Later the whole family wholeheartedly accepted him and none of them cared about his bloodline. For them he was a proud Singh and always will stay that way.

After the narration if I say I was shocked then it would be just an understatement...

"Beta, though that Suriyan was in jail all these years; somehow he had managed to get a bail out and now we are worried about  Abhi. I can't risk his life, if he gets to know this then, he will be distorted. I know he will get to know that but I want you beside him. Because you are the only one who can handle him, please beta , I know I am being selfish, but please beta,"

" Mama, I am ready to marry him."

End of flashback

" *sigh*... you wanted to know why I married you right? THEN LISTEN MR ABHIRAM... NOT BECAUSE MAMA ASKED ME TOO BUT BECAUSE I WANTED TO PROTECT YOU; I WANTED TO BE THERE WITH YOU. I agreed because I knew if I didn't; then, I would see you distorted like this and I wouldn't be by your side to support you.... I agreed because I dreaded this day... *sniff* I tried Ram ... I wanted to tell you ... but I *sniff* but I became selfish... I didn't want to break off our new bloomed relationship ..

ABHIRAM POV

"Relationship... I a....I am sorry Ram ... I am" she started sobbing badly and I instantly regretted what I accused her for and the only thing that came to my mind was, which I have been wanting to do for soo long, and I did that today.

I kissed her plump lips....
