Manik and Nandini was lying on road while guards came running towards them seeing the situation.

"Boss!"

"Madam!"

Manik who was holding Nandini in his tight grip opened his eyes slowly. His heart was thudding loudly in its ribcage. He looked at Nandini who had held him ever so tightly. Slowly he managed to sit while holding Nandini and tried to break the hug. Manik looked at the guards and gestured that they're fine. The guards moved back giving them privacy.

"Na.. Nandini.. look at me baby? Are you okay? Haan? Are you hurt somewhere? Tell me sweetheart?"

He broke the hug slowly while Nandini was still shivering in his arms. He checked her for any injuries but she didn't had any except few scratches on arms and legs due to the sudden fall. He sighed in relief and took her in his embrace again. He was dead scared.

Nandini just cling more and more to him. Manik also tighten his grip and placed a kiss on her head.

He was terrified to death. What if he couldn't reach to her on time? What if he didn't push her out of the way? What if something would have happened to her? He closed her eyes in fear but opened it instantly. His eyes red.

Breaking the hug forcefully, he looked at Nandini. She looked at him with teary eyes.

"Are you out of your mind? Haan? What the fuck were you thinking while standing on the middle of road? Couldn't you see the car? Why didn't you move away damn it? What if I couldn't push you out of the way? How could you be so careless, Nandini!" Manik shouted while Nandini flinched back getting scared of his anger. She started sobbing loudly.

Manik closed his eyes and took a deep breathe to control his anger. He opened his eyes only to get surprised.

Nandini was holding her ears by her both hands and was sobbing looking at him.

"So.. sorr..rryy.. I.. I.. was numb.. looking at.. car.. main.. main s..samajh.. nahi paayi.. kya.. karu.. suddenly.. I.. I am so..sorry.. Sorry.." Sobbed Nandini while Manik took her in a hug once again. She cried holding him.

"Sshh! Sshh! Relax. It's okay. You're fine. Everything is fine. Hmm..? Nothing happened. See, I am there na? And as long as I am there with you, you never have to be worried for anything. I will protect you. Humesha. So just relax." Manik cooed her ever so lovingly. Nandini nodded in his chest sniffing. Manik caressed her hairs.

"Let's go inside. Come on, we need to clean your wounds. You have hurted yourself." Saying this Manik broke the hug but was shocked when Nandini fell all over him unconscious.

"Nandini!! Shitt! Open your eyes! Hey!!" Manik patted her cheeks but she didn't wake up. Manik picked her up in his arms and ran inside the mansion being panicked.

Doctor checked Nandini and gave her injection. Manik was sitting beside her while holding her hand worriedly.

"Doctor, how's she? Why she fainted suddenly?"

"Mr. Malhotra, relax. Nothing to be worried. She got scared of something and that's why fainted. Nothing serious. She will be up in sometime. Also, her injuries aren't deep. I did the dressings. Just keep her stress free." Manik sighed in relief hearing the doctor and nodded his head.

"Sure doctor. Thank you. Raghu..." Manik called Raghu and asked him to send off the doctor. Doctor left. Naina Tai who was standing there worriedly looked at Manik.

"Sir, aapkeliye kuch le aau? Juice or milk?" She asked. Manik shook his head.

"No need Naina Tai. We had our dinner sometime before. Also, it's late. You can go and sleep. We are fine." Assured Manik. Naina tai agreed and left. Manik looked at Nandini who was lying on the bed with a pale face. He placed kissed on her forehead.

Feeling the movement, Nandini stirred and opened her eyes slowly. She looked at Manik was already looking at her with misty eyes.

"M..Manik.." she mewed. Manik just hugged her tightly. Nandini was taken aback feeling her neck getting wet. She gasped.

"Manik aap ro kyu rahe ho. I am-"

"Don't.. don't ever pull this stunt on me. Never ever. Do you know how scared I was seeing you like that?" Said Manik. Nandini rubbed his back trying to calm him. He broke the hug and looked at her. He was so vulnerable. Her heart pained.

"Manik.. main thik hu. Aap please tension nahi le.." Nandini softly while wiping his tears. Manik held her palm and kissed on it.

"Pakka?"

"Haan baba. Pakka." Manik nodded and looked at their joined hands. Nandini squeezed his hand which was holding hers. He looked at her emotionally.

"Nandini I.. I was habitual of being alone. Being an orphan I didn't had anyone in my life to be called as my own. Koi nei tha mere liye.. Sab kuch akela karta tha. But since you came in my life, everything changed. You take care of me and my every little thing, you cook for me, you pamper me, you bear my tantrums, sometimes lift up my mood, help me, sometimes become my best friend... you do everything for me. No one ever did this for me. Never ever. Tum.. tum abb meri aadat bann chuki ho Nandini.. You become my habit. I.. I just can't imagine my life without you. Kabhi bhi nahi. I.. I.. lo-"

"Sssshhh.." Nandini palmed his mouth stopping him to say further. Manik looked at her. Her face flushed.

"Not now.. just wait for tomorrow. It will be our day." Said Nandini.

"But Nandini-"

"Ssshhh! Trust me, Manik. It will be worth it." Manik looked at her and chuckled while she pouted making puppy face.

"Please? For me?"

"Ohkay! That's enough. Don't make these cute faces or I will pull your cheeks. See, like this." Saying this Manik pulled her chubby cheeks while Nandini rubbed her cheeks glaring at him. Manik laughed.

"Manik don't na.."

"Achha ok ok. I won't tease you anymore. We should sleep now. You need rest. But first, take this medicine."

"Ewww Manik! Medicine!!! Voh kitni kadvi hoti hai. Mujhe nei khani. See I am all fine." Said Nandini flashing her 32 teeth infront of him while jumping on bed. Manik narrowed his eyes.

"Medicine khaa rahi ho, chocolate nahi! Obviously kadvi hi hogi na? Huh! No tantrums here, okay? Come on, open your mouth.." said Manik raising his hand near her mouth to put the tablet. Nandini turned her face away.

"Manik mat dijiye naa.. mujhe achha nei lagta.." Nandini said sadly.

"Nandini.." Manik sighed and took her in a side hug by one hand. She rested her head over his shoulder.

"Sweetheart, agar medicine nei li toh kya hoga pata hai?"

"Kya?"

"You will feel weak. Aur agar weak feel karoge toh aap firse faint ho jaoge. If you faint, then you will be admitted in hospital. And if you get admitted in hospital na, then there doctor will give you so many injections along with those bitter medicines." Said Manik. Nandini widened her eyes in shock and sat straight immediately. Manik pressed his lips.

"WHAT??? Injections?" She asked being horrified. Manik nodded innocently. Nandini got scared and hugged him tight.

"No no no.. I don't want any injection. Mujhe bahot darr lagta hai Manik. I am so scared of needles. I.. I can't even watch anyone getting it. I don't wanna take it please please. Aap mujhe injection mat lagvao." Pleaded Nandini. Manik looked at Nandini who was looking like she will start crying aloud any moment. He cursed himself for making her this much scared.

"Achha ok ok relax baba. Calm down. We are not taking any injection, okay? I was just telling you the consequences of not taking these 2,3 medicines. If you take them then why will anyone give injection to my sweetheart hmm?" Said Manik caressing her hairs on which she looked at him innocently while stretching her palm.

"Give me the medicines. I will take them." She said. Manik smiled at her innocence and kissed her forehead. Giving her the tablets he made her have them with water and then took her in his embrace again. She clutched his tee in her hand.

"Manik.."

"Hmm?"

"Suniye naa.."

"I took my medicines."

"Manik.." Nandini whined.

"What sweetheart?"

"I. took. my. medicines." Said Nandini pressuring every word.

"Ouch! Areee!" He hissed and looked at her who gave him glares. Manik got confused.

"What happened, sweetheart? Why so angry?"

"You said if I take medicine then I won't have to take injections." She said grumpily. And it clicked Manik. Ohh. She's still stuck there. He chuckled.

"You're laughing." She frowned. Manik immediately made normal face.

"What? No way! Why will I laugh? I.. I was just clearing my throat." Nandini huffed looking at other side.

"Now that my good girl has taken her medicines, she doesn't need to worry about the injection." Said Manik in her ear. Nandini looked at him innocently.

"Nandini promise?"

"Nandini promise." Said Manik.

She then lied down beside him while hugging him tight. Manik smiled.

"Manik.. aap na.. kabhi bhi mujhe injection nahi lagvana. Main na.. I.. I am very very scared of them. Mujhe darr lagta hai. You na.. you don't ever let anyone inject me. Never ever. Aap.. aap nahi karne doge na?" Manik was all awwed on her cuteness and pecked her lips.

"Never meri jaan! Kabhi bhi nahi! Main hoon na? I am always there with you, hmm? Main kabhi kisi ko meri jaan ko hurt karne dunga bhala? I will not let anyone even touch my sweetheart. Injection toh durr ki baat." Said Manik while patting her head. Her eyes were dropping but she had a beautiful smile on her face.

"I trust you, Manik.. I know you will never let anyone hurt me." Saying this she went into the deep slumber while Manik smiled and kissed her forehead.

"Never, sweetheart. Never ever. Your Manik will protect you with all his life. Humesha.." said Manik and slept while hugging her close to his heart.

Nandini fell on the floor due to the intensity of the slap.

"How dare you?" Yelled Harshad while pulling her hairs. He was beyond furious.

"Aaaah! Manik!" She cried in pain. He gritted his teeth.

" Manik! Manik! Humesha bas uska gungaan gana hai haan? Kya hai kya aisa usme? That fucking looser.." said Harshad while Nandini looked at him angrily.

"Just shut up! Don't you dare say anything about Manik! And for your information, he has everything which you lacks. He has humanity, kindness, love, respect towards the woman. He is the man of golden heart. He is the best friend, best husband anyone could get. He doesn't fraud like you to survive. He, putting all his efforts and hardwork earn the money. He doesn't snatch it away from others like you. My Manik is so pure. I fear how will he feel knowing your true colurs. Toot jayenge voh. Mere Manik bahot innocent aur naive hai. Arey, tumhare jaise rakshas ko bhi nahi pehchan paye voh. But I won't blame him for this. It's you who's a manipulative bastard! You're an obnoxious asshole!" Nandini spat angrily. Harshad got angry and slapped her once again.

"Aaaaaaah!!!"

"You bitch! Zara si chut kya di tumhe zubaan tote jaise chalne lag gayi teri! Haan? How dare you answer me back? Too bad, Nandini. You forgot who I am and what can I do! You need your dose. Tab akal thikane aajayegi." Saying this Harshad started to remove his belt. Nandini crawled back while shaking her head in fear. She looked at the clock and cried in helplessness.

Nandini was planning surprise for Manik. She was going to propose him and confess everything about her past and Harshad to him. She was determined to start their love life on the basis of truth only. No more lies. But look at the irony! Manik had to leave for an urgent meeting out of the city. To her bad luck, even Raghu and Naina tai had went to their village yesterday and now she was all alone in their mansion as other butlers left after completing their work. Manik informed Nandini about his late arrival while calling her. She asked him to come soon as she has a surprise for him. Manik promised her to return as soon as possible. But before that, the cyclon named Harshad had already entered in her house to destroy her completely.

Harshad rolled the belt in his hand and moved near her taking threatening steps. Nandini cried.

"Awweee! Nandini! Poor little dirt! You're already crying, ah? I didn't even do anything honey. Tch tch tch! It's okay. I won't stop you. Cry your heart out. Jee bhar ke ro lo. I will give you the reason to cry. Just keep crying." Saying this he raised the belt and started beating her. Nandini tried to hide herself while curling up her body. She was shaking and crying while screaming in pain.

"N..nooo!! Nooooo!! Stop please.. it's paining. Stoppp... Aaaaah! Manik!!!"

"Yes! Yes! Scream! Cry! Shout! No one will hear you as usual. Your Manik isn't going to come this soon darling. And before he come, I would have left from here destroying his little bubble of happiness. Puri tarah se tabah hojayega voh.." Saying this he raised his hand to beat her again but got shocked seeing her holding the belt in her hand. Her eyes spitting fire. Whole body shaking due to anger.

She stood up while collecting all the leftover energy she had and snatching the belt away from his hand threw it away.

"Never! I would never let that happen. Untill I am alive, I won't let you hurt Manik. I won't let you destroy him, Harshad. I will protect him till my last breathe. Before reaching Manik, you have to face me!" Said Nandini fiercely. Harshad raised his brows looking at her and then started laughing while clapping his hands.

"Impressive! Very impressive! I must say, you have fallen for that bastard madly. You love him like a crazy, don't you? Usey bachane ke liye kisi bhi hadd tak jaa sakti ho?" He asked while Nandini stood there with her head high.

"Yes. I do. I love Manik. Main unse bahot pyaar karti hu. Apni jaan se bhi jyaada. And I can go any extent in his love. I can give my life for him and if the situation comes, I can even take the life for him." Said Nandini glaring at him. Harshad laughed again.

"Great!! Such an amazing dialogue delivery!! Haasshh! Mere aankh mei aansu aagaye. Haaye! Finally the kitten has fallen in love and that too with my most favorite enemy, the manik malhotra! Woaah! Like woaah! Guess what? It will be too much fun to crush the happiness of you both. Aah! I am so excited!"

"Harshad!!" Nandini shouted.

"Shhh! Don't shout, darling. Vaise, just now I had a look at this set up. All for Manik, ah? Propose karnewali ho usey?" Asked Harshad tilting his head at one side.

"None of your business!" Nandini spat. Harshad laughed.

"Oh baby! Everything that concerns you is my business. You're my toy. My puppet. And I am the owner of yours." Said Harshad while moving towards her.

"No. You're not. Nandini sirf aur sirf Manik ki hai aur humesha unki hi rahegi." Said Nandini angrily. Harshad held her jaw in his tight grip. Nandini struggled.

"Enough of your drama. Stop with these tantrums. Just get the papers of shimla deal and MM industries. I need them in my hand right now." Said Harshad. Nandini jerked him.

"Never. You will never get it. I won't betray Manik. Never ever." Said Nandini firmly. Harshad looked at her for few seconds and again bursted into the laughter. Nandini looked at him with a disgust.

"Oh girl! Your sense of humor! God! Hats off! Are you even hearing yourself? You won't betray Manik? You won't?" Asked Harshad on which she nodded firmly.

"Yes. I won't."

"Are you really that dumb or you pretend to be? You said you won't betray him but you already did, Nandini. You have already betrayed your love, your Manik." Said Harshad evilly. Tears started falling from Nandini's eyes hearing him. She shook her head in no.

"N..no.. no.." she whispered to herself. Harshad smirked thinking something.

"Accept it Nandini. You can lie to me, to Manik but not to yourself. Accept it!"

"Accept that you came here because I sent you here!"

"Accept that you married Manik because I asked you to."

"Accept that you hided from Manik that I am not your brother but step brother!"

"Accept that you hided from Manik that we were in relationship before your marriage."

"Accept that you have always lied to him about spending his money. You always gave it to me."

"Accept that you married him just to take my revenge."

"Accept that everything between you and Manik was always a lie."

"Accept that you hided from Manik that we slept together!"

Harshad kept shouting these things repeatedly.

Nandini covered her ears while crying hearing him and shouted loudly.

"YES! YES! YES! I ACCEPT! I ACCEPT THAT I BETRAYED MANIK. YES, I ACCEPT I LIED TO HIM ALWAYS. I ACCEPT, I ACCEPT THAT I MARRIED HIM JUST BECAUSE OF YOU. YES, I ACCEPT I HIDED EVERYTHING FROM HIM. I ACCEPT!!!"

Shouted Nandini on the top of her voice.

Suddenly they heard a glass breaking sound and turned around. Harshad smirked while Nandini froze on her place.

"Manik.." she whispered in shock.

No no. This can not happen. Manik is here. He.. he heard everything. Why Aaiyyappa? Why did you do this with me?

Manik was standing there all numb. The flowers he was holding, fell from his hand and because of stumbling back the nearby base fell down breaking into pieces.

Nandini ran towards him like a mad woman and hugged him tightly. Manik didn't hug her back.

"Ma.. Manik.. thank god you came.. he.. he was troubling me alot. You.. you na.. listen to me.. I.. I need to tell you something okay.. he.. he.." before Nandini could complete her sentence Manik pushed her away from him. Nandini looked at him horrified.

"Ma..Manikk..?"

Manik looked at her with a blank face. Nandini felt herself shivering.

"Whatever he said sometime before, was true?" He asked with a cold voice.

"Manik.. I..I can explain.. please listen-"

"Yes or No, Nandini?" Manik shouted furiously and Nandini flinched back. She sobbed and looked down while nodding her head slowly.

"I didn't hear you." Manik said and Nandini felt his voice quivering at last. Nandini fisted her saree and looked at him slowly while sobbing.

"Yes." She whispered but loud enough for Manik to hear. Manik took a sharp breathe. His heart was shattered.

"Why?" He asked gathering some courage.

Nandini just sobbed looking down. Manik held her from shoulders and shook her.

"I asked you something, Nandini! Answer me damn it!" Manik roared. His eyes were red.

"Ma..Manik.. leave me please.. it's hur.. hurting.." Nandini sobbed. Manik jerked her away and laughed. His tears flowed.

"It's hurting you ha? Really Nandini? Then what about my hurt? What about me damn it?" Manik shouted in pain. Nandini couldn't look at him. Manik made her look at him.

"Why are you looking down ah? Look at me? Look you won. You successfully broke Manik Malhotra! You destroyed me, Nandini! How does your victory feel? Are you happy? Haan? Satisfied? Or something more left? Oh wait.. I forgot.. you must be needed your reward na.. celebrate karna hoga tumhe. With your boyfriend or whatever he is. Wait.." Manik wiped his tears harshly and threw some cash on her face. He took out his cards from his wallets and threw on her face. Nandini cried.

"Take this. This is the only reason you were here, right? All yours. Take it. Or do you want some more? Wait I will bring it for you. Or why don't you and your boyfriend only bring it? Go go.. get it by yourself. Go Har-" Manik turned but didn't find Harshad.

"Where's Harshad?" Hearing him Nandini snapped her head upwards and looked around frantically. Suddenly she remembered something and shouted.

"No!"

She ran towards their room while Manik followed her.

Entering inside, they saw everything was messed up. Drawers, wardrobe, study table.. Nandini hurried inside and looked at Manik.

"Where are the papers of your shimla deal?" She asked. Manik looked at her and then moved near one of the drawers only to get shocked.

"It was here." He whispered.

"It's Harshad." Nandini said. Manik looked at her who nodded her head wiping her tears.

"He was here for that and also MM industry papers. I refused to give him any access so may be taking opportunity of our confrontation, he stole it." Said Nandini. Manik sat on the bed with a thud. His dream was shattered.

Nandini's heart pained looking at him. She moved near him.

"Is MM industry papers..."

"It's safe with me." He said without any emotions. Nandini sat on her knees.

"Manik, I.. I know.. I lied to you. Hided things. But trust me, I never faked anything. I.. I didn't let him do anything wrong with us. He needed Money which I provided. Just because I wanted us to be at peace. Trust me Manik.. please.." Cried Nandini.

"I don't trust you, Nandini. I don't trust anyone. I don't even trust myself anymore." Said Manik blankly.

"Ma.. Manik.. please aap.."

"Leave.."

"Manik no.. please listen to me. I will-"

"Chali jao Nandini. Go away from my house, my life. Everything is already ruined. Jaan toh tumne lehi li hai. Bas jo saansei chal rahi hai, unhe mat cheeno. Go away.." Said Manik. Nandini sat near his feet and held his leg.

"Noooo.. Noooo! Please Manik! Don't leave me. I don't have anyone except you. Main.. main kaha jaungi? Please.. Manik.. I can't live without you. I love-"

"Shut the fuck up! Don't you dare complete that! Pyaar ka matlab bhi jaanti ho? Trust. Respect. Dedication. Honesty. Care. Loyalty. And what you did? Haan? Tell me Nandini? You don't have any answers for this and I know why. So better get out of my house and don't you dare to show me your face again. You will get your divorce papers soon. Then you will be free." Said Manik and moved near window. Nandini cried loudly.

"Ma.. Manik please. Don't do this. Please listen to me. I will make everything fine. Please you.. I.. I.. can't live Manik.. I will die.. I will die Manik.."

"Then go and die! But do not bother me. Listen, I am being very polite with you right now because I respect whatever we had between us unlike you. So before I loose my cool, just get out."

"Nooo! I won't go leaving you. Main aapko chodke nahi jaungi.." Nandini sobbed.

"Fine then, I will leave my house. You enjoy." Saying this he started to go when Nandini held his hand. He stopped but didn't look at her.

"Reh payenge, mere bina?" She asked. Her voice shivered. Manik felt his heart thumping loudly inside. What would he tell her. Gathering some courage he spoke up.

"Khush rahunga, tumhare bina.." Nandini felt her heart stopped beating inside. Her world become dark. Slowly she left his hand and walked away from there. Manik fell on the floor and let out a loud cry.

"NANDINIIIIIIIIIII"
