Delilah's P.O.V.

I woke up the next morning with someone shaking me gently. I opened my eyes and saw Wynter there with a smile on her face.

"Time to get up, babe." Wyatt said as they all looked at me.

I got up before looking at my mates. "I want to go to school today."

"Are you sure?" Willa asked.

I nodded. "Some people tried to get rid of me and I survived. I shouldn't have to hide that."

"Remember, stay with us at all times unless you can't be." Wynter told me.

I nodded before going into the bathroom and doing my morning routine. Shower, freshen up, blow-dry my hair, change my bandage, until I realized I forgot to bring some clothes with me inside.

"Um, guys, I need some clothes." I called out, wrapping the towel around my small frame.

"There's an outfit on your bed!" Willa replied from the other side of the door.

"Is it okay if I change in private, please?" I asked.

"We'll be outside." I heard Wyatt tell me before I heard the door open and close.

I slowly peeked outside and saw the room empty. I got out of the bathroom and went to the outfit that was laid out on the bed for me and put it on.

I decided to put my hair in a half ponytail style with a braid. I felt a different kind of feeling when I looked at myself in the mirror that was there. I felt complete. It felt just right.

After making sure I was ready and all, I stepped out of the room and saw my mates waiting for me. When they turned their heads, their eyes lit up with joy and love.

"Wow, Delilah. You look so gorgeous." Wyatt told me.

I noticed all the other wolves looking at me in awe and I wondered why. Even some of the Elder werewolves.

"Why's everybody looking at me like that?" I asked.

"Don't worry about that right now. Are you sure you want to do this?" Wynter asked.

I nodded, looking at myself up and down.

"Consider this the fresh start of a new life." Willa told me as she grabbed my hand as did Wyatt and we all got out of the wolf den.

We got to the school and all eyes were on me as I walked beside my mates. Throughout the day, a lot of people looked at me with sympathy or pity and were offering me their apologizes. Even the Aceys and Bucky asked if I was okay.

My mates would scare them off, but I told people I was okay and appreciated their concern. I just had to tell my friends and I will when I see them.

We got to our class and sat down, me appreciating my classmates' offering me words of encouragement before the lecture started.

Once me and the pack were finished with lunch, we ended up in an empty hallway next to the trophies. We still had about 30 minutes until the period ended.

"Delilah!"

I looked and saw Addison there with a relieved look on her face, tears filling her eyes. I looked at my mates and they sent me smiles and nodded.

I walked over to Addison, who pulled me into her arms and hugged me tightly.

"I was so worried about you! I'm so sorry this happened! If only I had gone with you!" she almost cried into my shoulder.

I shook my head. "It's not your fault, Addy. It's nobody's fault other than theirs'. My mates found me and saved me. If it weren't for them, I'd be dead now."

"Are you okay?" she asked.

I smiled at her. She was the first person who ever asked me if I was okay since the incident.

"Yeah. Thank you." I replied.

Addison pulled away and wiped the tears form her eyes. "I don't know what I would do if I lost my best friend. I love you so much, Delilah."

"I love you more, Addison. You'll always be like my sister." I said.

She smiled before looking at Willa, Wyatt, and Wynter. I could see the gratitude in her eyes as she stared at them.

"Thank you three for saving her. You have no idea how much she means to me. She's the closest I have to the sister I never had. Because of this, you've earned my trust and respect. I'm so happy she has mates like you that will go at any odds to protect her just as much as I would. Thank you." she explained.

Addison held her hand out and they each took turns shaking it, although Willa was hesitant about it at first.

"Can I spend some time with her?" she asked.

"She needs to be with us at all times." Willa told her.

"Willa-" Wyatt started.

The alpha growled a bit. "She's ours, brother. And ours alone. She's safe with us."

I stepped forward. "Willa, it's fine. She deserves to spend time with me after what happened. I was with her before it happened and I feel guilty enough for putting her and my friends through so much panic."

She sighed, but nodded in agreement before I went to them and kissed their cheeks. Willa calmed down and Wyatt and Wynter were blushing like crazy.

"We'll be back for you later." Wynter told me.

The wolves all left and I looked at Addison, who had bloodshot eyes and a smile on her face. She took my hands in hers.

Her eyes then went to my hair. She gasped as she touched it. "Your hair is like mine? Did you?"

I nodded. "I hid it, but decided to stop after staying with my mates."

She sighed before placing her hand on my cheek. "I'm so happy you accepted being yourself."

"You have no idea." I replied with a small laugh.

"We're practically twins now." I added, making the both of us chuckle.

Suddenly, her phone dinged and she looked at it, confusion on her face.

"My parents are in the parking lot. We need to meet them there." she said.

I nodded before we walked together.

We got to the parking lot and I felt relief and anxious seeing Missy and Dale there. Soon, their heads turned in our direction and before I knew it, I was engulfed in a huge hug by Missy.

"Oh, sweetheart! Are you okay?! I was so worried about you!" she said, her voice cracking.

"I'm alright, Missy." I told her, hugging her back.

We pulled away and Dale hugged me as well. I accepted it and we pulled away.

"You don't have to worry about anything happening again. Which is the reason why we asked you two to meet us here. No, we're not picking you up." he explained.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"After your dad and Michelle were arrested, we went to the courthouse and the officials. After so much work, we came to the decision to adopt you as part of the family. It was either that or have you be in foster care. We decided to take you in as our second daughter." she explained.

I gasped as happy tears filled my eyes. I was finally going to have a family? A real family who appreciates me and loves me? My best friend is my new sister?!

"Oh, thank you!" I said as I hugged them.

"You're so welcome, sweetie. If we knew this earlier, we would have done this, but at least we managed to get it done." Dale, or now Dad told me.

I hugged Addison tightly and she was just as happy as I was. "I finally have a sister!"

I laughed before Missy, or should I say Mom spoke up.

"The decision to change or keep your last name is yours. Either one, we'll be okay with it."

Greene was my mother's last name. I was happy with that name. It's helped me feel as if she's still alive inside me. That she's not fully gone.

"I'll keep it. It's my mother's name and I want to keep her alive in me with it." I explained.

They nodded and I smiled, being hugged my my new family. I couldn't wait to tell my mates about this!

I guess Willa was right.

This was the fresh start of a new life and I was damn happy that I got a second chance.
