3rd Person’s POV

There was a young prince by the name of Robert Latsky, or Rob from what he prefers. He is the heir of the IcePollen kingdom. His nation is known to be one of the most powerful and beautiful nations as well. Not only was he admired for this high opportunity, but he was a kind, wise and charming gentleman that everyone has learned to love. Everyone has though that he would be a great king, and with his looks and knowledge he was ordered and chosen to be married to someone who was worthy of him. It was by the choice of the people to show that they fully devoted and truly love him as the next ruler. Not all royals had the chance of this.

When it was about a month for him to be soon king, he was needed to be married with someone. The people have accepted him to like either gender, for even his own parents were both males who happily adopted the young boy at four. He then set out an invitation to the whole region, for a competition. Anyone by around his age was welcomed to take on the challenge, and to whoever wins will be crowned the next king or queen right beside Rob.

When everyone heard of this, many young women and men —Well mostly women— all got themselves ready for this event. They were all determined to take the hand of the handsome prince. They were all either royalty, nobles, rich, good looking or well-known for something.

Then there was Preston Arsement. A cheery boy who lives by IcePollen, but was born in Blazen-Cube. His mother went through a divorce there when he was still just a little kid. Him and the rest of his family then moved into another kingdom where he met his step-father who happily called Preston his own with his two new older brothers.

There he was raised by a standard, but happy family. Within the years of living there he has learned of the lovely prince. The good looks were enough, but that personality of his has overwhelmed him. He has admired him from afar and developed a crush on him as well. He would have never thought that he would have a chance to have him.

That was until he found out about the invitation. His desire to see the prince in person made his heart beat faster. His parents told him not to go in fear of sadness that could come to him, knowing that he had very slim chances, but Preston reassured them that he wouldn’t let that break it down. His heart was pure and filled with happiness for the prince. He thought to himself that if he didn’t win he would still be happy to whoever wins him.

On the day the competition was held, the throne room was filled with about hundreds of competitors. Instead of faces with pure looks in their eyes they were rather of mischief and arrogance. Preston seemed to be quite confused and terrified at those people. Them being too mean and pushy towards each other in Preston’s eyes.

After only half an hour he left the area after being done with people pushing and being rude towards him. It took him only a couple of minutes before he got lost in the large castle. He didn’t know where he exactly was, or if he even was suppose to be here. He wandered aimlessly around the castle walls, but then found himself in the royal garden. It was beautiful from just the place of view he is taking in. His feet took a few steps onto the stone pathway as he looked around. His eyes filled with wonder as he walked past by a few patches of flowers, many he hasn’t seen or known. He has read that the prince has always loved the royal garden more than anything. He never knew why, maybe because it was the most beautiful place he has seen, or is it because the prince has loved studying flowers? He always thought about it, but now could see and feel why. He smiled at the wonderful feeling of being in touch with nature. It was peaceful and quiet too, it calmed him. He stopped by a fountain. A huge grin on his face as he watched the clean water sparkle under the sunlight.

He then felt a presence behind him. He turns his head over his shoulder and his eyes widen once he sees who it was behind him. It was the prince he has dreamt off who looked relatively kind looking and charming like he was told so, much more better than the pictures in the books. He had a small and calm smile on his face followed by warming brown eyes that made Preston’s heart jump when they were looking at him. His golden and shining crown that held a single blue gem to indicate the fact that he is the prince of IcePollen. Once he took the time to comprehend who it was he quickly turned around and faced him. “O-Oh Prince Robert,” His nervousness was evident just by his voice. “W-What a surprise seeing you here...” The other laughs, yet it was not in a way to insult him, and it made Preston feel like putty.

“It is a surprise, isn’t?” he says smoothly which made Preston’s cheeks slightly turn pink. “You know, this garden isn’t really for outsiders.” Preston blushes in embarrassment as he excuses himself. “I-I’m very sorry, I didn’t know and I just—” “Hey, hey. It’s alright really. I don’t mind at all. It has been a while since I’ve met someone who isn’t in high ranking…” Rob reassures him, making Preston slightly relax, it amazed him on how those words calmed him down rather quickly. It amazed him even more on how he was able to meet the Prince and how patient he is with him.

“And since you know me, Robert Aaron Latsky the first, as the IcePollen Prince, what’s your name?” He asks, the light in his eyes filled with interest as he looked at him. It made it hard for Preston not to slip up on his words. “I’m Preston Blaine Arsement, sir.” That is when Rob’s smile turned to a frown once he heard ‘sir’ from the last bit of his sentence. “Please don’t call me formally, I don’t want others to feel like they are under me.” Preston is surprised as he heard that, a prince not wanting to be called what he is? “Just call me Rob when we’re in private like this, please?” He was confused and hesitated a little, nonetheless he obliged on the request. “Well okay then, Rob.” Preston says with a shy smile.

Rob then looks at him with a raised eyebrow. “You don’t seem to be from IcePollen, are you?” Rob quickly states, seeming to notice even the littlest evidence of his foreign accent and the slightly darker and redder shade of brown in his eyes. Preston felt a slight lump on his throat go down as he spoke. “Well, I’m not really from IcePollen. I used to live in Blazen-Cube with my family…” he then trails off, getting to a part where it was  pretty touchy subject.  “That was when something happened and I moved in here…” he says with slightly sad eyes. Rob’s eyes soften as he holds the boy’s shoulder and squeezes it lightly, making Preston look up at him. “It’s alright if you don’t feel okay talking about it. You didn’t have to continue…” Now, Preston was astonished. He never knew how kind and gentle the prince really was. He made him feel loved, a giddy feeling that is like being high in the clouds.

Preston blushed as he sends him a small grin. Rob gives it back, and is that pink on his cheeks? “Well, it’s about time for me to start the competition.” He then reaches his hand out to him and asks, “Will you care to walk with me, Preston?” The younger feels his face turning even redder as he took his hand. Rob smiled a little as it was slightly smaller and how it felt so soft.

He took him out of the garden and back into the castle’s walls where Preston still felt very unfamiliar in his surroundings. Rob in the other hand seemed like he knew the place from every inch of the floor they walked on to the history or origin of every furniture they walked past by. Even though it was clear that he was the prince, who lived in between these castle boundaries, he was very intelligent by how much he knew about the place that was made several years ago. If it wasn’t for Rob to just want to impress the adorable peasant– in his very own opinion–, then it would be how he enjoyed seeing his face light up with curiosity and eagerness.

They talked on what felt like to be hours upon hours as Rob safely lead themselves around the area. He has rarely talked to someone without being formal, even rarer to someone not near his place of ranking. Though he opened up almost instantly to the young boy. It made him feel comfortable and youthful in his age. Something he rarely felt, yet really loved the feeling. Preston enjoyed hearing his stories and kind personality as to how Rob adored how positive his mind was and how he was a great listener as well. 'He would be a great King if he won.' Rob thought to himself as Preston giggles at something Rob joked about. 'And a cute one too.' he adds in with a slight blush as he laughs with Preston.

You see, Rob thought that Preston was different. He stood out of the crowd somehow. Maybe it was because of his eyes that that didn’t quite match with the native people that he really liked, or is it his cute accent that only people with high education of language will differentiate from his to theirs. It wasn’t really those, but they were good bonuses. It was more of the person inside the boy. He was such a kind and polite person to him, something that not many officials have or do anymore due to envy and greed. He was much more pure and nice than the others he has seen. He has a good feeling that he will be the one, but only the competition will be able to decide.

They enjoyed their time together until they stopped by the entrance of the throne room where the announcement of the competition would take place. “Well it seems to be the end of our walk.” Rob says as he looks at the doors. Preston felt saddened at not being able to talk to him anymore, but agreed. “It does seem so.” He sighs, he then looks at Rob with a small smile that covered up his disappointed look he had just awhile ago. “I enjoyed our time talking to each other Rob.” Preston tells him, eyes still filled with cheeriness and innocence. It would be something he will never forget. “I hope to see and talk to you again after the competition.” Rob grins as he takes the hand he held before and brought up to his face, saying “I wish to see you soon as well, Preston.” Before kissing the knuckles. The younger blushed heavily at the gesture, but nods his head with an adorable smile. Rob lets go of his hand as he bids him good luck for the competition. They took different ways to get into the throne room and looked at each other before disappearing off.

Preston was then back into the filled room that he then wished again to leave. He couldn’t though, for his love, and even more for his encounter, to the prince was more than ever. He replayed all the jokes and stories he told him in his mind until the sounds of a horn echoed through the walls and everyone hushed for once ever since they got here. It meant that the prince was about to enter the room and Preston couldn’t wait to see him again even if it was just a few minutes since the last.

Rob walked through the curtains with both of his parents, feeling slightly nervous. He looked through the crowd, trying to find someone in particular. It took him a only a couple seconds to find those undeniably bright eyes and dark hair that he remembers. Both of them lock their gazes upon each other, and Rob sent him a grin that no one, but Preston noticed was a bit shaky. The other’s cheeks turned to a light pink and he grinned back at him reassuringly. The other felt the comfort and reassurance from him making him calm down despite on how simple the action was. They broke the stare and Rob went in front of the throne with his fathers, letting him take the lead.

“First, I would like to thank you all for coming here at this wonderful day. All to those who have come far and wide or to the ones who live just next door.” Rob says with confidence and gentleness “As most, if not all, know that I am the heir to the throne of IcePollen.” He states and then continues, “But in my wish and for the demands of the people, I would like to marry someone with a good heart who will be loyal and true to me and the rest of the kingdom.” Soft hushes and murmurs are heard through the room. One of Rob’s dads place his hand up and everyone became quiet at once.

Rob gave silent thanks to him as he faced the people again. “The challenge is simple, yet complicated at the same time.” Butlers then came in the room holding bags in their hands. “You will each have to take a seed with you and grow it yourself, which you are given 3 weeks due. A week before the desired wedding will happen. You must be back here in throne room within the date.” He explains as everyone picked out their seeds from the sack that was passed by the butlers. Once every one of them had a seed Rob smiled as he said “I give my good luck to all of you. Now, all of you are dismissed and may the best flower take the throne.”

Preston looked at his seed that laid on his palm. he furrowed his eyebrows and grinned, a look of determination on his face. 'I will do my best.' He turned around and followed the crowd that was leaving. Rob glanced at him and slightly sighed as he whispered, “And most of good luck to you, Preston.”

Preston went to work as soon as possible. He planted the seed on a suitable pot with good soil. He placed it under the right sunlight and gave it enough water, too less it will die and too much it would drown. He went off to the local library to find some books of gardening that would surely help him. Even his friend Vik, an assistant librarian in the shop and a friend since he got here, helped him pick out books and insisted that he will let him borrow the books as long as he needed them as long they were brought back within good condition. Preston can’t thank him enough for the help he has given him for the past years of his life once he moved here.

“Thanks so much, Vik.” He says as he collected the books in his bag that he brought with him. “It’s no problem Lava-P. I’m happy in helping you in your love life.” Vik says with a slight smirk as he sat by the desk. Preston turns a light red as he rolls his eyes. “Very funny, but still, anything I could do to give back the favor?” He asks. The other hums as he thinks about it, “Hmm… Nothing in particular.” He mutters. “Aw c’mon Vikky! There must be something!” Preston said with pleading eyes. Vik giggled as he rolled his eyes, “Well you can do something for me once you win the competition.” “Oh really? What is it?” Preston questioned. Vik was embarrassed, but let on anyways, “Would you please invite me to your wedding party?”

Preston stopped at the request and thought. “Well of course I would invite you, what kind of friend would I if–” Then he realized something, a big smirk forming on his face. “Ohhhh! It’s that hotshot, Lachlan Power, you want to meet right?” “Shhhh! Don’t say it out loud!” The cinnamon skinned boy panicked. The other giggled as he remembered back in one of his and Rob’s conversations. He said that Lachlan was one of his best friends and  his father was also the right hand man of Rob’s father, meaning once Rob becomes king, Lachlan will take his dad’s place. Vik seems to really like him a lot, they bumped into each other once when they were both 5. A few times that he just saw him walking around, but never was able to talk to him personally. He was usually seen around Rob, and being one of his besties means he had the free will of going almost anywhere in the castle. Lachlan will sure be there during the wedding, and Preston concluded he would sure as heck invite Vik to try setting them up.

“Alright Vik, when I do win, I’ll make sure to introduce you to Lachlan.” The Blazen-Cube foreigner grins as he holds the last book in his hands. His friend looked at him with a surprised expression. “Are you serious Preston?” the boy grinned at him, thinking that question was silly, considering the fact that he has already done so much for him. “Of course, ya’ goof! It would be my thank you. Plus it would be my turn to help you in your love life.” Vik stared at him for a bit, but soon started giggling. “Sure Preston, anyways good luck to you and do your best.” He tells him as he fixes his glasses on his faces, and Preston walking to the door. Preston scoffs playfully as he holds the door open, “You bet your butt I’ll do my best.” He winks at him and leaves with the door closing behind him.

Once he went home he read the books and followed the steps and tips. He cared for the seed with all his heart, always checking it in every hour, and giving it what it needed. His parents and siblings knew that he truly loved the prince, but was also busy during the weekdays. They then offered help in keeping and taking care of the plant when he’s out, and he happily accepted.

A week went by and it should have sprouted by now, but the pot was still empty of green. Preston felt disappointed in himself, has he done something wrong? He read the books carefully and followed the instructions of what they said. It should have grown something by now. Maybe it needed a bit more time, or needed something more. Then Preston got an idea, he should ask the farmers and gardeners in his town. He was a social butterfly and was almost known by everyone. He should ask them for help in growing plants. He exactly did that, all the farmers and gardeners eager to assist him with his good manners that charmed them and realization that he is part of the prince’s competition.

“You’re the only one so far to ask for help in this way ever since that competition happened.” One said that slightly confused him, but was flattered anyways.

“Yer’ really workin’ hard fo’ this thing aren’t cha? Well, I’m rootin’ fo’ ya’ kid.” Another says, a foreign from the west side of the region which made Preston smile at that day.

“The prince will be a lucky one, heck anyone will be a lucky one if they had a sweet thing like you.” Said someone else who has thought Preston of one of the nicest people he has met.

He learned a lot from all of them and was thankful for their generous assistance. He would then go to at least one of them everyday to learn then go back home to do same thing to the plant. His heart still determined.

Another week flew by and still nothing has grown on his pot. Preston started to lose hope everyday. He still kept trying though, but to no avail. He felt like a failure at seeing the empty potted plant. What in the world had gone wrong? He was depressed and his family and friends knew it. They tried to cheer him up, telling him that it was okay if he lost, but it was not that. He was sad, because he couldn’t even grown something from the seed…

“Or maybe it just wasn’t meant to be.” He sighed. Sadness overflowing him.

The day when it was time for the presentation of the contestants to show their plants came, and Preston didn’t quite seem looking forward to it. Even though he was sad, he still attended with his pot. He came in to see everyone’s pot filled with the most beautiful flowers, one prettier than the other. It didn’t take him long to feel overwhelmed and leave the room. He was running along the halls with a blind sense if direction. He needed some place to cry peacefully, feel freedom and just be alone. With him not finding himself in getting into any injuries, he found the place where him and Rob first properly met. “The garden…” he whispered as he stopped by the entrance.

He stood forward and looked around. The area was still beautiful as he first saw it. The many flowers that were planted into patches, and the vines that crept upon the side of the garden’s walls or hanging by the branches of the oaky trees. The stone path that lead to the center which he walked upon as he looked around just like what he did before. He stopped by a foot away from the fountain. The flowing water calming him down as he sat on the top of the fountain’s wall. He placed the pot beside him and hummed sadly. It didn’t take long before tears swelled up his eyes and fell from his youthful face.

Rob though, was getting nervous and anxious. The room was filled up with the many contestants, all holding up a flower. He felt disgusted to even look at these people who proudly held up their pots. “None of them are worthy for the throne.” he mumbled. He then turned and ordered his servants to look at every contestant’s pot, with the simple rule that could be the only one to indicate who should inherit the throne with him. As the servants willingly did as told, he noticed something was off. Something is missing, or someone is missing. He looked around the crowd who were getting interviewed by the people who he sent to check their pots. The faces he last saw were all there except for one. His soon to be right hand man, Lachlan, who was standing next to him seemed to notice the troubled look on his face. “Are you okay there Rob?” he asked him worriedly. “T-There’s someone missing in this room, and I can’t—” Then it finally hit him.

“Preston.” He exhaled.

Where is he? He thought. He started to think as he looked around. He mentally face palmed himself. The garden, of course! He told Lachlan to take charge while he goes on to try and find someone. “Where are you going though? And who are you exactly trying to find?” Lachlan looked at him. “The garden.” he informs as he turns away. “And to find the one that holds the Flower of Truth.” He says determinedly.

He fast-walked his way through the shortest route to get to the royal gardens. Seeming to be restless to find the foreigner who stole his heart that he met less than a month ago. With his sense of knowledge and direction through the halls and rooms that he knew, he easily found the most exquisite part of the castle. His eyes scanned the area and soon landed at the figure sitting down by the fountain. His eyes were filled with relief, yet worry when he saw him.

He quietly went over to him, and starting to hear the small sobs that were left by the younger boy making his heart sink to listen to. Preston didn’t hear the older coming his way, as he focused on his crying more. Once Rob was close enough he whispered his name, enough for him to hear, “Preston?” The calling of his own name made him a little. He looked up, his eyes filled with the salty water than he has been letting out. “O-Oh, hey R-Rob…” He said quietly. His hands trying the wipe the tears that have fallen. “W-What are you d-doing here?...” He hiccupped as he tried not to look at him. He felt ashamed of himself to talk to the well-known prince. He didn’t even feel worthy enough of seeing any part of him.

“To find you of course.” Rob sadly smiled at him. “I didn’t see you in the crowd. I wondered where you were.” He says as he fixed the crown on the top of his head which was drooping a little. “But I remembered where we first met,” He then looked at him, “And now I’m here.” Preston was actually surprised that he was concerned in where he was. Did he care that much? Rob then cautiously went closer to Preston to not startle him, and sat down next to him. “Now since I answered question, can you please tell me why are you crying?” The smaller of them sighed as he mumbled, his voice barely audible. “I failed…” Rob raised an eyebrow at that answer, “What do you mean you failed?” he asked. Preston hesitated to answer him, but he really had no choice.

He brought the pot up which was hidden beside him that Rob couldn’t see it from the angle he was from. Rob stared down at the pot, as Preston looked away out of fear and shame. “Preston…” Rob quietly said as he used a hand to let the smaller boy look at him. His eyes still with fear and sorrow, but Rob held love and happiness. “You didn’t fail…” He continues. Preston looked at him astonished “H-How? I-I didn’t grow a-anything…” Rob chuckled as he shook his head no. “You did grow something.” He tells him as his face gets close to his. “You grew the Flower of Truth.” Preston blushed, and as he was about to ask what he meant when Rob stopped him by pressing his lips to his. They both fit so perfectly together that they both almost immediately melt into the kiss with Preston kissing back. It lasted for a few seconds, but they enjoyed every single moment of it once they pulled away. Rob smiled at him and chuckled, “And it bloomed my full love for you now.” Preston didn’t understand how he won, but by the look in his new lover’s eyes it was undeniable that this was true. “D-Does this mean I-I’ll be…” “Yes my love, you’ll be marrying me and will be seating next to me as a royalty.” Rob answers him. His face dusting with red as he referred him as his love.

They both smiled at each other until a hearing of footsteps was heard. They turned to see who it was, and it was Lachlan Power who was out of breath from all the running. “R-Rob…” He breathed out raggedly. “Wait here first dear…” The prince tells his future partner as he lets go and walks up to his friend. “Calm down your breathing first Lachlan.” He told him softly. Preston smiled as he heard the name Lachlan, now knowing who Vik likes in person. It took him a few more seconds before he regained his breath. “Now, what were saying?” Rob asked him. “The competition Rob… It seems like no one was honest enough. I’m very sorry…” He said sadly. The older one stays quiet for a bit when he then chuckled and patted his back. “Not everyone…” he tells him as he lets him look at Preston who still held the put that only contained soil. Lachlan looked at him and at his pot then his ocean blue eyes widened in surprise.

“He… He’s… the one?” He faced his prince friend who nodded his head with a smile. He looked back at him with a wide grin on his face. “Why, I don’t know what to say… Well,” That’s when he suddenly went down on one knee and bowed at him. “I am honored and happy to call you as my next king, and to marry the prince, for you are the only one who holds the Flower of Truth.” Preston stared at him in awe once he said his sudden speech. “W-Why thank you.” He said in utter shock. Lachlan smiled as he stood up once again and winked at him “It’s nothing, future Mr. Latsky.” Preston giggled at the thought of having Rob’s last name, and he was excited as well.

Lachlan then went back to Rob and said, “We have to go back to the throne room, don’t we Robert?” He laughed as he playfully hits him. “I told you just to call me by Rob, and yes we should.” He then went over to Preston and reached out his hand to him, it was a similar to what they did the first time they met. “Will you care to walk with me, Preston?” he copied the same line he said to him too. Preston smiled softly as he took his hand. Rob being familiarized by the softness of his skin as Preston lifted himself off the fountain’s wall with the pot in the other hand. That’s when a loud ‘awe’ came from the blonde friend, and they looked at him. He chuckled as he shrugged “Sorry, sorry. But you guys are just so flippin’ cute together!” The two new partners looked at each other and giggled.

They then went on to go back to the large hallways of the palace accompanied by Lachlan who was next to Rob. They then talked about random things, Lachlan chiming in from time to time, but he understood that they needed to learn more about each other. “I do have a question though.” The blue-eyed blonde says, and the two brunettes look at him. “Where do I find a cute and nice guy that I can with in the hallways as they hold my hand?” He then suddenly asked the two, as a joke of course. “Well, we can—” “I know someone you might like!” Preston squeals, cutting of Rob. Rob was going to go along with the joke, but it seemed his chosen love had other ideas. Lachlan was surprise, but he wasn’t complaining. He was getting lonely, and seeing that Rob now has his own person to cuddle and kiss with, it made him feel like a third wheel.

“Wait, really?” Lachlan urged on. “Yeah, it’s a good friend of mine.” Preston smiled at him. “He is really small compared to you, but he’s smart, nice and admires you a lot. He can’t shut up about you sometimes.” The taller’s eyes sparkle in interest. “He seems like an interesting person…” he smirks slightly at the thought of being able to have such a guy that could be different from him. “I mean, he’s been dying to meet you personally. I promised to invite him and introduce you guys at I and Rob’s wedding party.” Their hands intertwined as he said that as the other’s eyes perked up and grinned like a kid in a candy store. “Oh really? I should look real good then for my possible future love.” Rob smiled at his friend, seeing that he seems real happy at being able to meet his future husband’s friend and making him his.

They were halfway there when Lachlan called out in a much more hyped up voice than before, “I’ll see you lovebirds in the throne room, I have to report the guards and servants something.” Preston and Rob waved him goodbye as he turned a sharp left. Once he was gone, Rob then looked at him. “You really know how to set up people huh?” he looked back at him and shrugged. “I’ve done it with my other friend, Mitch, who is now dating one of the guards named Jerome.” He smiles as he then pecked his forehead. “Maybe your just a great charmer. I mean, you’ve charmed me, that’s for sure.” Preston giggled as he walked with Rob and the pot for the rest of time in the hallway

Once they got to same place that they’ve separated before, Rob pulled Preston close to him. He then gestured to the direction on where the royals should go when they get to the throne room. Preston looked at him confused and he laughed, “You’re going to be my husband soon, and that means you can go where I can go.” He tells him. Preston’s eyes shimmered in curiosity as he followed him, though there is nervousness still evident. Rob was able to see it too. “Don’t worry Pressy, you’ll be fine if your with me. I think Lachlan has told them too.” He nodded, trying to keep calm as they walked. Once they got there, they stopped by two huge doors that should lead to the throne room with a guard on each side of the door. When Preston saw the two of them, his nervousness came all back to him and he clutched onto Rob’s arm.

The two looked at him then at Rob. It took them a few seconds before they bowed at both of them. “Good day to you, prince Rob,” one of them said and he continued as he faces the younger, “And you must be the holder of The Flower of Truth, as to what Sir Lachlan told us.” He says looking down at the pot in one of his hands. He nodded as the other guard smiled and bowed his head. “Then I should I call you queen escort, or king escort?(Meaning a commoner marrying a royal)” Preston smiled back at him. “This is very new to me, but I guess just call me King Preston, or by what royals should be called?” Both of them nodded and opened the double doors for him and Rob. “Alright then, my king.”

Preston feels his partner’s hand squeeze his as he follows him through the doors. Once they stepped in, they were both greeted by maids and butlers. The servants seemed gleeful as they see the newcomer. Preston never felt so welcomed before in his entire life as he was told compliments and greeted with outmost respect. Lachlan soon saw them and grinned at both of them. “I told the staff already as you can see.” He tells them. “We certainly have.” Rob chuckles while Preston is being offered a drink from a maid who is in her early 30s. “Now its time to tell the competitors, the kingdom and soon, the whole region.” Rob nodded at Lachlan’s statement as he waited for Preston to finish his drink that he was given, apple cider apparently. “Preston, you stay here for a bit, you join me at my signal.” Rob ordered him to which Preston agreed to.

The sound of the royal horn is heard as everyone turned to see the prince. The place became quiet again as the waited in anticipation for him. “Good day to all of you.” Rob says with a slight smile. “I see the everyone has been able to grow something beautiful out of the seeds they have taken.” As Preston heard this, he looked down at his own pot with a raised eyebrow, still confused on how he chose him. “But I’ve already picked and met the one who has grown the greatest flower out of everyone.” Some people gasped as he said that as Rob gestures for Preston to join him. He nervously and quietly joins him with his flower pot, and stands besides him.

He was immediately bombarded with questions and profanities. Confusion, shock and anger from the crowd as to the fact he has not grown a single flower. Preston whimpered in fear as he hid behind Rob and Lachlan came in quickly to comfort him. Rob hissed at them and told them to quiet down as he wanted to explain. Once the people quieted down, Rob breathed in and said “All the seeds are sterilized, meaning they could have not grown anything as much of you tried.”  Rob calmly states as he watched about all of the contestants become shock, and Preston looked up from Lachlan’s shoulder with some tears in his eyes. “The only way you can get something out of that is if you cheated,” Many held their heads in shame as they thought about this.

“But this young boy, had no audacity to even think of doing so.” He says as he referred to the Blazen-Cube boy who smiled at him after Lachlan let him go. Rob walks over to Preston and puts his hands over his which were holding the pot. “He grew the Flower of Truth, the purest and the only possible flower to be grown out of it.” He continued as he stared at Preston’s eyes kindly. “And has every right to be my lover, my husband, my one and only and the next ruler of IcePollen, beside me.”

The whole fell silent again as one woman yelled out. “I have learned such an important lesson. I believe that this young man is fit to be king.” Everyone looked at her, and she placed her head high with pride. “I too, believe that he is perfect to be with the prince. Only a kind and pure king shall deserve him.” A man proudly said out loud as he tipped his hat. “Being honest and kind-hearted are the key parts of being a good leader, and I shall be happy to approve of it.” A youthful looking girl said with a grin, to everyone’s surprise it was one of the princesses of a neighboring kingdom. It took awhile for everyone to agree. Their eyes being cleared from selfish desires and need for power.

Soon the people started cheer for the new couple. When a lady went near to him and asked “Excuse me sir, but may I ask you what is your name?” Preston smiled at her kindly and bowed, “I go by Preston, Preston Arsement.” He tells her. The woman smiles back at him and turns back to the crowd of people. “Cheers to King Preston!” She called out to everyone. “Cheers to King Preston!” they all shouted back.

Preston felt so flattered and adored that he was stunned in amazement as everyone cheered for him. Rob then wraps an arm around him and kisses his forehead. “I told you were the one.” Preston giggled and hugged him. “I guess I am…” They soon pulled away when Rob reminded him, “We’ll announce our marriage to the kingdom in a few. Who would you like to invite?” Preston hummed as he laid his head on his chest. “Can we invite everyone in the kingdom? And the people who contested as well?” Rob watches as people congratulated and comforted each other, being much more friendly and nice then he first saw them all. Preston seemed to have really eased their hearts for the better, Rob thought.

“That’ll be hard,” he remarked, “But I’ll do my best to make it happen.” He then brings his face up, so they can see each other’s faces. Preston hummed again, questioningly, making the other chuckle as he presses his lips onto his. He didn’t hesitate to kiss back, and there he holds the one who grew the Flower of Truth.

================================
I re-made this through a story in my English textbook, so I'd give credit to the person who made "Flower of Honesty." Which is the original.

Also, I love making stories with morals. I may be mean and aggressive, but I adore life lessons and teachings. Plus, the original story really reminded me of Poofless.

I have one almost ready, a request from someone, but you guys know how slow I am. Anyways I'll see you soon!
