I lay back, folding my arms under my head, staring at the sky. As usual, I ended up in the school’s rooftop garden. I had to avoid the library since Julian knew he could find me in there. I sighed contently and closed my eyes, drifting off.

I heard the door to the rooftop garden open and then, someone sat next to me quietly. I opened one eye and peeked at the newcomer. I smirked, “You’re becoming quite the stalker.”

Noam lay down next to me, stretching out as he stared up at the sky too.

“There’s something about you that keeps bringing me back.”

“Noam, I’m done lying.”

“You were never lying to me. You came out of the closet for me, remember?”

I winced slightly, “Yeah. I want you to know that I may have regretted it at the time but right now, I’m glad I did what I did.”

“That’s nice.”

“Yeah.”

“Does it have anything to do with that golden faced jerk, Julian?”

I laughed, “Maybe.”

“He’s the one who gave you those hickeys.”

I smiled, “Maybe.”

“I need to confess to something.”

“If you’re here to confess to the fact that you’re a crazy stalker, I already know.”

“I shall choose to ignore that. I’m here to confess to being a jerk.”

“Oh. You say that like I didn’t already know that.”

“I don’t expect you to forgive me for what I did.”

“You did what you had to.”

“I made out with a girl and didn’t stop them when I should and could have.”

“What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger.”

“It nearly killed me when you left. I didn’t know it was that bad until I found out in the locker room.”

I turned to look at him as he kept looking up at the sky. He swallowed hesitantly and continued, “I’m moving here this week.”

I sat up, glaring at him, “What?”

He sat up, still not looking at me, “I’m not coming here because of you. Well, you were my main reason before but now, I just want to be accepted.”

I frowned, “You were one of the most popular dudes. What the heck do you mean by-”

“I told everyone the truth.”

I froze.

He continued, “Yeah. When I told people I was Bi and that I did date you, I got kicked off the team. People didn’t treat me the same.”

“Why would you do that?”

“I deserved it. Hey, what doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger.”

He finally looked at me, smirking.

I shook my head slightly, “I knew I fell for you, for a reason.”

He chuckled, “Yeah. It took some good old fighting to knock some sense back into me.”

“You got into a fight?”

“Fights. Plural.”

I groaned, “Why?”

“I’m going to fight for Gay Pride. And you.”

My heart started beating a little faster, “What? That-That’s crazy. Look, Noam, Julian and I have this weird thing. I don’t know what to call it but we have something.”

He stood up, still smirking, “I still have a chance if you aren’t technically dating him. Besides, you fell for me, for a reason.”

He winked and left me sitting there, utterly stupefied.

What just happened? I blinked rapidly as I tried not to panic. Noam was turning back into the guy I once loved. I groaned and lay back again, resisting the urge to jump around kicking and screaming.

Suddenly, the door flew open again and I jumped up. Julian stood there, looking furious.

“I leave you for the weekend and you’re back with that asshole? THAT WASN’T PART OF OUR PLAN.”

“Whoa, I’m not back with anyone. Also, we have a plan?”

“He told me he was moving here this week.”

“Yes. He mentioned that.”

“And you’re okay with this?”

“He apologized.”

“How can you be okay with him!? After all he did to you!”

“He didn’t do anything crazy. He kissed another girl. Besides, how does it even matter?”

“How does it even MATTER? He said he was going to fight for you. THAT is how it matters.”

“Look, Julian, whatever happened between Noam and me, is in the past.”

“Are you sure about that? Because when he came down those stairs, he looked bloody happy.”

“Maybe because I decided to forgive him?”

“Not because you made out with him?”

I glared at Julian, “I’m not a man whore, thank you very much.”

Julian looked visibly relieved.

He walked in, shutting the door behind him. “If he thinks he’s going to win, he must be crazy.”

I laughed, “Them pineapples be crayola crazy.”

Julian pulled me in for a hug, “That coming from you, doesn’t really mean much, you weirdo.”

I mumbled against his chest, “Shut up.”

He hugged me tighter, “Promise me this. You won’t go back to Noam, even if we don’t work out.”

“Knowing you, I doubt you’d let me get together with anyone.”

He ruffled my hair, “You got that right.”

I pulled away, “We should get to class.”

Julian nodded.

Just as we walked out, he grabbed my hand, “KennyBenny?”

I looked back at him, “Yes?”

“Can I take you out this Friday?”
