Ok so firstly; that symbol on that pendant practically summons a demon (ironically named "Hades") that takes over his mind manipulating him, making him do some horrific things. And secondly; ya know that Zane guy? Well that was Max's ex. Yep EX. He ended up dying in Max's arms after an assassin (who was meant to kill Max) killed Zane instead. Max never loved or got attached to anyone again.......or did he?
