First off this is a drum set (I have no idea why the pic went sideways...). I've had it for about two years, and in the summer of 2019, I started to get lessons on how to play it!

Also, yes. I'm giving you guys a small lesson of drums. Like, showing you what the names are for each (I'm missing one cymbal. The ride. It's the wider one).

First off, the hi-hat. It has a peddle at the bottom to open and close it. While opened, it's loud and is much like the cymbals you play by hand (school bands have them). Closing it is much quieter. This part of the drums is essential for getting down the timing, and you play it with your right hand. And no, not your bare hand, but with drum sticks. As you see, I have three sets on my floor tom (will talk about later).

Next, the snare. With a drum stick in your left hand, you will play this drum. The notes, for the starting beat you learn, will be on beat two and beat four.

(Side Note: Much like any other instruments, you play drums on beats. You count them as "one and two and three and four and." It's actually quite simple once you get the hang of it. You might have to say or mouth the count at the beginning of learning. Later on, where I am now, you can just think the counting.)

This is the crash cymbal. People usually have two, but I only one. This one is much like the hi-hat when opened. It's loud, but it has a higher pitched crash.

The floor tom. Not much to say about this one... sorta sound like a base in my opinion, just not as low.

The base!!!! It has a peddle like the hi-hat. This part is ESSENTIAL. You can somewhat hear when this part is played. It has a low sound. This one, paired with the snare, is played on beats one and three with the basic beat.

Tom toms. They're used for the other beats in some music. But most know it for being paired with the crash for the classic joke think. (Bada tsss)

Now for the pages I'm learning!!!!

(Why did it go SIDEWAYS!?!?!?!?)

So! Here I have to work on opening and closing the hi-hat (practiced for about 20mins and my left ankle hurt). The last on is hard on me.

So, the last two (13 and 14) are the ones I'm practicing. Not too hard for me.

Also, I don't have a hard time reading this type of sheet music. I used to be able to read piano sheet music, and used to be able to play it too. Believe that or not. That was actually in 10th grade when I learned.

And that concludes the drum lessons!!! Hope you enjoyed, and I hope you understood what I said. Ask anything in the comments!!!!
