The one thing I like about my writing is my first lines always make people think. (I mean at least I think they do)

Like for example:

Death will always be the great equalizer. (Summary of The Time Anomaly Files)

Fear is a vicious beast that rips through the mind at its weakest moments. It feeds off unease, doubt, and despair and destroys the few positive thoughts that linger still. (Chapter One of Stained Seasons)

Time was a one-syllable word created by those who were running out of it. It was an illusion brought into this world by the mortals who feared their own demise. (Chapter One of The Time Anomaly Files)

The fire ate at the screams of the innocent and buried them in ashes. (Chapter Two of Stained Seasons)

Those are the few that are some of my favorite first liners.
