The three Eastern Kingdoms & Beyond:

o   Shobu is located in the north – it is mountainous and barren.

o   Moutan is in the middle – it is wealthy due to grain production

o   Keungang is in the south – and is known as the Southern Lake Kingdom as it is covered with rivers, lakes, and water ways

o   Kazarus is to the West – it is a desert kingdom

o   Beyond Kazarus is the Euridican Empire (the setting for 'The Eastern Tower' which isn't out yet)

Cultivation Levels:

-       Divided by 3 realms: Mortal, Immortal, Celestial

-       Mortal: this covers Qi condensation and foundation establishment

o   Wood (Beginner),

o   Fire (Practitioner – Early Stage)

o   Earth (Practitioner – Mid Stage)

o   Metal (Practitioner – Late Stage)

o   Water/Air (Practitioner – Peak Stage)

-       Immortal: this covers Golden Core and Nascent Soul

o   Martial Spirit (Master – Early Stage)

o   Martial Soul (Master- Mid stage) 

o   Martial Saint (Master- Peak stage) everything after this stage is legendary

o   Martial King (Grandmaster- Immortal)

o   Martial Emperor (pre-Celestial- Immortal)

-       Celestial: This covers Tribulation and Ascension

o   Deity/Demi-God

***Note if the practitioner has a particular weapon then the rankings start with the weapon. i.e. Sword Spirit, Sword Soul, Sword Saint...etc

Era names:

In Moutan, the era name changes every 5 years.

1st Era: Yongming – Perpetual Brightness

o   Years 1 to 5: 1452 to 1456

2nd Era: Tianji – Heavenly Discipline

o   Years 6 to 10: 1457 to 1461

3rd Era: Fusang – Mourning

o   Years 11 to 15: 1462 to 1466

Note: due to the war the era is renamed to Huian – Gloomy

4th Era: Fangbei – Defend Against Sorrow

o   Years 16 to 20: 1467 to 1471

Note: the story starts in 1471

5th Era: Yingyong – Valiance

o   Year 21 onward: 1472 -
