The doorbell rang, which pulled Onyx from his thoughts.

He opened the door to see Song Valor, he walked out of the door and locked up behind him. "How's it going?" He asked.

"Pretty good, ready to uncover some Shadow secrets." She replied.

"Yeah, but we also need a plan to get Bliss out, in case the Capital is as ugly as my parents suspected."

"Well, I have a tentative plan, but we really need to see what we are up against. And there are several variables: what if Bliss is not there, what if we can't get in, or if we get caught." Song explained.

"I suppose you have a point, but we should take this one step at a time." An unexpected wave of guilt passed through Onyx when he thought about Creed. He had to make it back from the Capital and get to the Gate.

"Is everything okay? You're spacing out," Song asked.

"Yeah, I'm just thinking." Song didn't inquire anymore. They were about to leave when Onyx grabbed a box of fruit bars and stuffed them in a knapsack. Song looked down at his bag and shook her head. "What?"

"Nothing, I was unaware that this was a field trip, and we would be in a desperate need for snacks, let me go home and grab the juice." Song replied.

"It's not. My parents taught me to expect the unexpected that's all." He smiled.

The two friends left Onyx's house and began their journey to Capital Q. Onyx told Song that it would be a mile walk. They decided to jog to make time, an easy feat for hunters of their caliber. "What kind of leads are you looking for?" He asked in between breaths.

"Anything that would explain what draws Shadows to some souls and not others. What makes some souls targets, something, anything that will show us what the Shadows want."

"We can't stay long okay."

Song looked puzzled and slowed up, "I wasn't intending too. Is something wrong?"

"No, I just have some other things to do." Onyx slowed beside her, then beckoned for her to come on. Song shook her head and continued behind him.

"You know, it's fine if you don't want me to know." Song said in between breaths.

"It's not like that, let's just say, it would be better for you if I didn't tell you at this moment, until I have everything sorted out."

She nodded, "You sound like Creed, last night he came by trying to push me away. I knew that wasn't like him. He eventually told me that the SSS want to send him to the Second Dimension."

Onyx tried to sound surprised, "Damn, I hope he finds a way to get himself out of that."

Song smiled, "Same here, but he promised me that he wouldn't go."

Onyx mouth dropped and he choked on some spit. Song stopped, "Are you okay? What happened?"

"Dry mouth, I'm fine. Let's keep moving, we can't waste time." Onyx answered. Now he really has a mess on his hands. Song doesn't know that Creed is going to the Gate. This makes his part crucial, because if Creed dies, Song will know that he went to the Gate. But he can't tell Song either. I hope this doesn't turn out to be a nightmare. Thanks Creed for not telling me that small part about telling Song that you weren't going. He silently prayed. He heard a beep, reaching in his sack, Onyx grabbed him watch. One hour had passed the Capital was in view, they finally reached their destination.

"Well here we are," Onyx said.

"It's not as big as I expected it to be, you know, people make it seem like hundreds of people come here for treatment. It doesn't look like fifty people can even be treated here, judging by size alone," Song replied.

She had a point, Capital Q had the appearance of a medical clinic. It was nowhere near the size of a hospital unless, there was another section. Onyx heart began to sink as some serious doubts if this was all to Capital Q, there was a strong chance that they would find nothing. Then there was the mystery of Song and Creed. Did she forget that he was going to the Gate? Or did she even know? So many thoughts were swirling around in his mind, it was getting hard to stay focused.

"Is everything alright? You seem extra quiet and very distracted." Song inquired.

"I'm straight, just a little nervous to be honest. How do you feel?" He quickly changed the subject.

"I'm alright, I just really hope that we can find something."

The pair continued towards the Capital, then Song stopped abruptly.

"What's up?" Onyx asked.

"I almost forgot, we can't just waltz in there, now can we? I was thinking what if I pretended to be infected, and you were registering me in." Song suggested.

"It might work better, if I pretend to be infected. If you do it, that's going to draw suspicion."

"Why is that?"

"Hello, you're Song Valor! Shadowhunter of the decade. Like somebody is going to buy that story."

"Well, you have a point," Song agreed.

"Alright, I'm infected, you register me in, then you stay. Let's see how much we can find out in one hour." Onyx suggested.

"You know one hour is not a lot of time. Could we push it? I mean, I thought you made yourself free today, so we could do a thorough investigation."

Don't stammer, Onyx. "Well, I thought that I was completely free, but then I talked to Kai and he said he needed me to help him out with something."

"Today?"

"Yeah, I didn't think that you wanted to stay all day, I mean this is risky business, I don't want you out in this possible danger for too long." Onyx replied and flicked her forehead.

"I understand that, but you forgot a very key point. We agreed that if we found something wrong then we had to break Bliss out." She reminded.

Damn! "Crap, that part slipped my mind. Well, I guess that means we are going to have to work quickly." He replied and continued walking.

Song was quickly becoming puzzled and began to get the feeling that Onyx wasn't being honest with her. She refused to dwell on it, for she didn't want unnecessary questions running through her mind. The Capital was a little baby blue building with a bright red door. On the door was a little sign that said open in black bold letters.

"Hold up," Song said as she pulled Onyx to the side of the building.

"What now?"

"Disguises," was all she said as she reached in her bag that was slung across her shoulder. Onyx put some contacts in that were a deep blue. Song put the light gray contacts in and applied wine red lipstick to match the nails she did earlier that afternoon. Onyx took a good look at her, she was really pretty with her jet black hair flowing in the sun. He must have been staring.

"Why are looking at me like that?"

"No reason, was there a reason you wanted gray contacts?" He asked.

Song said nothing, she just smirked.

"Oh is this look inspired by Creed?"

"Oh shut up," she playfully pushed him, "get in here so I can register you."

Song pulled her hair into a high ponytail right before they walked into the Capital.

Upon entering, the first thing that stood out was that it seemed just like a doctor's office. A young woman greeted them as Song gently guided Onyx to the front desk.

"Good afternoon, my name is Tara. Now, how can I help you?"

"Hi, I'm Clarissa, and this is my cousin Pierre. Last night he missed the curfew. My neighbor told me about this place, will you be able to treat him?" She asked in a panicked tone.

Tara nodded cheerfully, "Of course we can! Pierre just come with me." Tara stood up from behind the desk and put her hand on Onyx's shoulder. She guided him to what appeared to be the back door. In an instant, the pair disappeared. Song turned back towards the door and saw everyone staring at her. She smiled lightly, then proceeded to sit down. Moments later, Tara came back to her seat behind the desk. Song observed her carefully. Blond hair and soft blue eyes she was average height, nothing unusual except the 'back door'. Lost in thought, Song began tapping her foot on the floor. Tara looked up and asked, "Is something wrong?"

"Well, nothing like this has ever happened to me or someone in my family. I'm just really concerned. I'm sorry if my fidgeting was bothering you, I tend to do that when I'm nervous." Song lied.

"Oh, I understand completely, but I am going to have ask you to keep the fidgeting to a minimum. As not to disturb the other clients."

"Yes, I'll try." Song smiled slightly that was exactly the answer she was looking for.

Onyx had just came down the spiraling stairs as a white light blinded him. He now knew why the facility looked so small, because 80% of it was underground. There were hospital beds and treatment rooms that resembled metal boxes. There was the strong smell of bleach entering his nostrils. He heard someone called his name, but he did not answer. Here he is Pierre. A hand grabbed his shoulder. He slowly turned and made a blank face when he saw Bliss. The light in her eyes faded as she looked at him.

"I'm sorry, I thought you were someone else." She let him go and walked away with her head held down. Before he could walk away, another hand grabbed his shoulder. It was another blond like before, but if he was not mistaken, she looked exactly like Tara.

"Hi, I'm Sara, I need to give an exam before you begin treatment, but first, tell me is there anyone down here that you know or think you know? If the clients know each other it helps us understand what areas are being affected the most or the most violently." She asked.

British accent time! "Uh-um no, I don't remember anything," Onyx answered. Sara guided him towards an empty white room with a small operating table. Maybe, that wasn't the best idea. Suddenly, he saw a familiar dark brown bob of hair on sugar brown skin.

"Wait!"

"What's wrong?" Sara asked.

"I know her."
