JACK'S POV

I Woke up to someone tapping on my helmet.

"Wake up sir, you lazy bastard" said George

"God damn it sergeant, How long do we h.." I shouted, but before I could finish my sentence the speakers came to life, "ALL COMBAT PERSONNEL, GET TO YOUR POSITIONS AND AWAIT THE ORDER TO COMMENCE GROUND ASSULTS OPERATIONS. 5 MINUTES TILL ON TARGET".

It repeated this over and over.

"Is the squad ready ?" Asked the sergeant, "Yes sir, they are at their pods awaiting the signal to go".

"Can you believe this ?, we are about tocomplete the very goal our grandfathers set out to achieve, 100 years in the making, we we're trained for this" I said with a hint of excitement in my voice.

"Yes I can sir, but even if we fail, we will still take a few of those mobs with us to the nether". He replied, but I hoped that it would never end like that, not for my platoon, in my squad of 10 including me and George and I didn't know most of them but I was put in that group only yesterday evening.

A part from George, I alsoknew the squads Medic, Alexander Ward and the squads Sniper, Jamie Sandy.

We just got in to our pods when a woman about my age came up and said one of our Ships, the M.S.C Red Spirit has just exploded, the mobs have some kind of super weapon that can shot powerful energy charges. it was believed that they hit the main power core and only those in their pods at the time were saved as their pods were dropped a few second before the explosion because of the brief power outage.

Also, we were told that main equipment and mobile artillery pieces will arrive with additional reinforcements, VIA drop ship.

"ALL HANDS, GET READY FOR DROP, 20 SECONDS TILL DROP" I saw my squad get in their pods, I never thought it would be the last time I'll see them.

A/N THIS IS THE FIRST BOOK I'VE DONE.

I'M STILL TRYING TO COME UP WITH IDEA'S AND I WILL TRY TO MAKE IT MORE INTERESTING IN THE NEXT CHAPTER.
