In the dining room. Gabriel accompanies Adrien and Marinette at the table as the three of them partake in the meal prepared for them.

Gabriel: So Adrien, I trust you and Marinette have made some substantial progress on your presentation?

Adrien: We have, Father. I managed to help Marinette choose the topic of the presentation, where to find the information, and she took it from there.
She managed to get the first half of it completed already.

Gabriel: Creative, talented, and intellectually brilliant.
You certainly are proving yourself to be a bright, young, woman, Ms. Dupain-Cheng.
I'm beginning to see why you were chosen to work with Adrien.

Marinette blushes.

Marinette: U-um, thank you, Mr. Agreste.

Adrien: And also, it's worth 2 major grades to both students, who complete the presentation and manage to get it correct.

He turns to Adrien.

Gabriel: Interesting, and I trust you'll handle the other half after dinner?

Adrien: Of course, Father. I can't let Marinette do all the work.

Gabriel: Very well. And Adrien, I know this doesn't make up for much, but I hope it's enough for any of the times
I couldn't join you for dinner when I promised you.

Adrien smiles warmly at his father.

Adrien: It's a start, father. At least you made the time.
That's good enough for me.

Gabriel nods content.

Adrien then furls his brow, thinking back to earlier that morning.

Adrien: I know it's not my business, father.
But what were you and Nathalie talking about this morning?

Nathalie: Whatever do you mean, Adrien?

Adrien: I could hear you and Father talking about  something as I was getting ready for school this morning.
And then I heard Father shouting at you, but I didn't know what he was yelling at you for, though.

A look of realization dawns on Gabriel's face.

Gabriel: Oh, that. (Sighs) I was in a meeting with one of my clients over the phone, and he sounded rather high maintenance. He was complaining that one of the designs for his suit didn't meet his standards. Then he had the nerve to insult Nathalie, saying she was incompetent for not setting up the meeting in person.
And then said that I was incompetent for designing it.

Adrien and Marinette look on at Gabriel.
Listening intently.

Gabriel: I was insulted that he had the nerve to even think, that Nathalie or I was incompetent, so I decided to end my business transactions with him, telling him to go find another designer. Nathalie was only trying to get me to calm down.

Marinette: That sounds horrible.

Gabriel: Yes it does. To think that one of my clients wasn't satisfied with my designs, all because it doesn't meet their ridiculous standards.

Adrien: Well, I'm glad to know Nathalie wasn't the reason you were upset this morning.

Gabriel smirks, while chuckling to himself.
