The following Monday, at Francois Dupont high school, Professor Wathen looks over the results of the assignment from each of the pair's presentations.

Wathen: Well students, the results of the assignments are in.
And I am impressed with your efforts.
However, there are only three pairs that managed to obtain a high letter grade.

Wathen surveys the classroom.

Wathen: Now, the pair with third highest grade on the presentation, B+ for Chloe and Sabrina.

Chloe: I guess putting in the work to study really does pay off.

Sabrina: And we both did it, together.

They high-five each other.

Wathen: The second highest letter grade, at 94%, Barry and Lila. An A for both of you.

Lila: Nice job.

Barry: Thanks.

Wathen: And I'm proud to announce,
that the pair that received a perfect score, is Marinette Dupain-Cheng, and Adrien Agreste, with an A+.

Marinette and Adrien's faces light up in surprise.

Marinette: (Gasp) Yes.

Adrien: Great job, Marinette.

After class, Marinette's friends congratulate her and Adrien, for their success on the project.

Alya: Girl, you and Adrien managed to get the highest grade out of everyone in the class.

Alix: Yeah, that was impressive, even for you.

Max: Indeed, considering mine and Kim's presentation was only 8% away from a high letter grade.
Your accomplishment is admirable.

Adrien: It's no big deal guys.

Nino: It is a big deal, my dude.

Mylene: Yeah, especially since Barry and Lila almost got as high a grade and you guys.

Barry: Well, Lila didn't exactly know much about Subatomic particle structures, so I walked her through it, bit by bit.

Lila walks over.

Lila: And it was certainly an enlightening experience.
I mean, Barry seems to be well-versed in science.

Marinette scowls as Lila walks up, she whispers to Alya.

Marinette: Why does she have to be here?

Alya: Hey, be nice.

Barry suddenly hears a noise, coming from the boiler room.

(CLUNK, CLUNK, CLUNK!)

Barry: Okay, that's the third time I hear something coming from the boiler room. What the heck is that noise?!

Nino: Dude, that's probably just the pipes. They do that all the time.

But before Barry can argue against the statement.
He is interrupted by the sound of police car sirens, passing by the school.

(WOO-WOO-WOO-WOO!)

Barry rushes to the entrance of the school. Along with the other students, to see two cop cars at the front of Marinette's house.

Marinette: Oh, no!

She runs to the bakery, as fast as her legs can carry her.

Barry: Marinette, wait!

Barry and Adrien both run after her.

The rest of the students try to follow, but Mr. Damocles and Ms. Bustier stop them.

Marinette rushes past the police cars, only to be stopped by Lieutenant Roger.

Roger: Hold it, Marinette.
You can't go in there, This is a crime scene.

Marinette: What are you talking about?!

She sees her father getting dragged out of the bakery.
He looks at his daughter, in complete shock.

Tom: Marinette!

Marinette: Papa, what's going on?!

Tom: I didn't do it, you have to believe me, I didn't-

She moves Lieutenant Roger aside and runs in.

Tom: No, Marinette! DON'T GO IN THERE!

Barry and Adrien arrive and Adrien runs past, while Lieutenant Roger holds Barry from going any further.

Marinette: MOM! Mom, what's going o-?!

As Marinette runs into the bakery, up the stairs, and into the living room, she sees her mother's lifeless body.
Blood stains on her white shirt.

Marinette: (Gasp!)

Horrified, Marinette covers her mouth in shock, and begins to break down and cry.

Marinette: No. NO, NO, NO!

Just then, Adrien runs in and sees Marinette crying over her dead mother.

Adrien, still shocked, walks over to Marinette.
He places his hand on her shoulder, then she turns around and buries her head in his chest. As he tries to console her.

Adrien: It's okay, Marinette. It's going to be okay.

Marinette continues weeping.
