Halle's POV:

I am very disturbed right now. I think anyone would be in my situation. I am currently waiting to get on a boat with James, Dominique, Gracie, and Louis.

Authors Note: Yes Potterheads. I know. There's supposed to be four to a boat in the books. But, I mean, that was in 1997! I say that after the Battle of Hogwarts, they got bigger boats.

I know. I said James was handsome. I am aware. But I never asked for him to 'like me' {(At least according to Dominique he does) I don't think so (Then again, the only boys I'm around are the ones in my books, I would have no clue)} and I have never had anyone like me before! I don't know what to do! I look back into my memories of the last thirty minutes, hoping Dominique was wrong.

Earlier that day:

Gracie and the light ginger head sat next to Dominique, leaving me to sit next to James. Of course. It turned out that the ginger was Dominique's missing brother, Louis. We talked about what house we were going to be in and placing bets on who would be a Slytherin (James idea). Gracie looked a bit distant so I decided I should talk to her.

"Are you a Muggle-born? You seem a bit confused about what's going on."

She held a small grin.

"Yeah, when I got my letter, I was a bit surprised to find out I'm magical."

I laughed, "I bet! What did your parents think of it?"

"They took it a bit hastily. We all thought it was prank mail!"

I laughed again and muttered, "I feel like I know you from somewhere, I just can't put my finger on it. Do you have that feeling too?"

She suddenly looked very serious and whispered,

"As a matter of fact, I do."

Suddenly there was a long sentence of silence in the room. Until, of course, James broke the silence by bragging about his family's heirloom, that was given to him.

"... It is made from Demiguise hair and is the only true invisibility cloak left in the world!" He said proudly.

I looked at the item with awe while Dominique and Lewis looked at it with pure envy.

"Seriously!" Dominique cried, "I was always on my best behavior around Uncle Harry and Aunt Ginny, hoping they would give it to me, I always did the dishes! Now it's for nothing!"

James and I laughed and he put it back into his hand luggage bag. As I slowly scooted closer to James, he put his arm over my shoulder. I did my best not to flush as I pulled up my glasses while smoothing out my wavy, blonde hair.

"So, Swangirl," James commented, "Do you have any siblings?"

I grinned, "Unlike you Potter-Weasleys, I am an only child, I hope it stays that way."

"Not a big fan of people then," James smirked.

"I have always done best when I'm by myself," I said, a bit too harsh.

"That ought to change," He said teasingly, "At Hogwarts, you do a lot of 'teamwork'," James said, quoting with fingers.

As I turned to look at Dominique and Louis, they stared at me and James awkwardly. I gave Dominique a 'what' look. She pointed her eyes to the door while moving her head in that direction.

"Halle and I are going to see where the trolly is," She declared.

We opened up the door and stepped out of view."What is it," I insisted, "Did I say something or what?!"

"It's just if I wasn't mistaken, James Potter was just flirting with you."

I looked at her with the 'really! Wait...is that a bad thing?' look. Thankfully, she got it and explained,

"James never talks to girls that way. If he even talks to a girl, it's to insult her, not to make nice conversation. Also, Swangirl, really? I knew I shouldn't have introduced you two. But still, Swangirl, that names pushing it a bit too far in my opinion."

"Really?" I said, "I thought that was how all boys acted"

"I'm afraid not," she said, rolling her eyes, " First, I can tell you don't get out with people much."

I nodded. It was true.

"Second, I can't tell you how many times I've gotten insulted just for asking to go to the bookshop or something like that."

I laughed, "I'm sure it's just you not being around when he does acts like this. I mean, I don't stand out in ANY way. I'm basically the same as everyone else! Why would he chose me?"

She shook her head and I followed her back to the car.

When I walked in, I saw everyone munching on sweets. The trolly must have come while we were out 'looking' for it.

"Hey, Swan! Hi Dom. Want some sweets?" James asked.

I came sat down quietly, not saying anything.

"I thought I told you not to call me that," Dominique retorted, "Only my friends can call me that."

"And your cousin isn't your friend?"

"Not you."

I winced. Dominique must have not been kidding back there. That's pretty icy for such a sweet girl.

Gracie walked into the car with her robes on and said that there were ten minutes till we got to Hogwarts and that we probably should go change. We all hurried out and got into our brand new robes.

Present:

I frowned and glanced at James. There was no way he was as bad as Dominique said. It was impossible that someone so kind and thoughtful could be as rude and conceited as Dominique said! I think I will just be as nice as I can, I hope, I don't think it will happen after everything I've heard. What do you do when you like a guy, and he likes you back, but everyone hates him for, in your perspective, no reason?
