Guilt

My head spun faster than when I was in a carousel. I didn't know where I was nor who I was with. In this lonely world, I had never thought of something like this happening to me. The last thing I remembered were some names...Jared, Rolen and someone who I was familiar with but just couldn't make out. Not knowing what they were going to do to me, I prayed to God to just make this the end so that I didn't need to see any more of it. They could do anything to me but just take my soul away from here, from people whom I don't know to the only person I know on earth and the heavens...my mother.

Disrupting my thoughts, a pair of hands lifted my face and I found myself staring at a pair of brown, hazel eyes.

"Ian?" He nodded guiltily.

"Are you the one behind all this?" I asked.

"I'm sorry Em. It was all mom's doing. I was about to warn you but you were already..."

"Ian, why did you do this?"

"I'm really sorry, Emma. I had never stood with my mother for doing this. She just wants money from our Dad. She thinks if she can kidnap you and ask Dad for a huge sum through these guys, she will have all the money that she needs."

"Won't Dad give her whatever she wants? Why does she have to become such lowly for this? Disgraceful woman!"

"Please Em. Let's not talk about that now. Let's get out of here before those guys come back."

"I'm not going anywhere."

"You can't keep running off on your own and not sharing your worries with anyone else. It'll just make your heart heavier."

"I..."

One look into his eyes told me that he was guilty of this whole thing so I decided to go with him in the hope that he would protect me as a brother always. But there was something else in his eyes that I couldn't make out. All that mattered now was he had actually come to save me and even said sorry for which I'm thankful. My stomach was roaring like a lion and my hands were ice-cold.

"Come on Emma. They're here"
