"Assalam alaikum Hameeda Habibti," he said in a perfect accent. The voice I heard yesterday. It was now I understood it was a fulani accent. I was told fulani men that know how to speak english have a natural accent but it was only now I believed.

I pinched myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming and when I understood it wasn't a dream. When I understood Najib left, didn't contact me over a year and came back calling Hameeda Habibti, I slammed the door at his face. How dare he? I could hear Uncle Nour asking me, "is that Najib?" I ignored him and ran to my room.

After few minutes of pacing around and thinking, I remembered the promised I made to myself. I had closed that chapter of my life. I was not going to open it again.

"Those Nasiha's are borrrrriiiiingggg,"Rukky slammed the door, jumped on my bed and groaned. Turning around, I laughed at her face that was stained with tears.

"Trust me, when your time comes you will get tired of hearing the word hakuri." It was a tradition that when a person is getting married, the elders in the family will sat him down and get him/her advices and nasiha's on marriage.

She was still complaining when the twins knocked and entered the room.

"We want to spend some hours with our favorite sister before she goes to her husband's house,"they said.

"What are you talking about?" Hassan asked.

"Dajjal," I answered with an evil smirk. I wanted them to let me have some alone time with my sister that was leaving in few hours too.  I thought of a topic that they wouldn't want to talk about, and dajjal was the first thing that came to my mind.

Surprisingly instead of turning around and running out of my room, the young men walked into the room.

"I could love to join the conversation, that was what our Mu'alim talked about last Saturday" Hassan said kneeling down on my carpet.

"He said it's the greatest fitnah that would happened in this world. All other prophets warned their people about it or him," Hussain added sitting beside his twin.

Anas b. Malik reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: There is never a prophet who has not warned the Ummah of that one-eyed liar; behold he is one-eyed and your Lord is not one-eyed. On his forehead are the letters k.f.r (Kafir).

Sahihi Muslim Book 041, Hadith Number 7007.

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: May I not inform you about the Dajjal what no Apostle of Allah narrated to his people? He would be blind and he would bring along with him an Image of Paradise and Hell-Fire and what he would call as Paradise that would be Hell-Fire and I warn you as Noah warned his people.

Sahih Muslim Book 041, Hadith Number 7014

It was then Uncle Nour joined us, he was quite surprised to hear the topic we were discussing that afternoon. Nevertheless, he gave his contributions.

An-Nawwas b. Sam'an reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) made a mention of the Dajjal one day in the morning. He sometimes described him to be insignificant and sometimes described (his turmoil) as very significant and we felt as if he were in the cluster of the date-palm trees. When we went to him (to the Holy Prophet) in the evening and he read (the signs of fear) in our faces, he said: What is the matter with you? We said: Allah's Messenger, you made a mention of the Dajjal in the morning (sometimes describing him) to be insignificant and sometimes very important, until we began to think as if he were present in some (near) part of the cluster of the date-palm trees. Thereupon he said: I harbour fear in regard to you in so many other things besides the Dajjal. If he comes forth while I am among on, I shall contend with him on your behalf, but if he comes forth while I am not amongst you, a man must contend on his own behalf and Allah would take care of every Muslim on my behalf (and safeguard him against his evil). He (Dajjal) would be a young man with twisted, contracted hair, and a blind eye. I compare him to 'Abd-ul-'Uzza b. Qatan. He who amongst you would survive to see him should recite over him the opening verses of Sura Kahf (xviii.). He would appear on the way between Syria and Iraq and would spread mischief right and left. O servant of Allah! adhere (to the path of Truth). We said: Allah's Messenger, how long would he stay on the earth? He said: For forty days, one day like a year and one day like a month and one day like a week and the rest of the days would be like your days. We said: Allah's Messenger, would one day's prayer suffice for the prayers of day equal to one year? Thereupon he said: No, but you must make an estimate of time (and then observe prayer). We said: Allah's Messenger, how quickly would he walk upon the earth? Thereupon he said: Like cloud driven by the wind. He would come to the people and invite them (to a wrong religion) and they would affirm their faith in him and respond to him. He would then give command to the sky and there would be rainfall upon the earth and it would grow crops. Then in the evening, their posturing animals would come to them with their humps very high and their udders full of milk and their flanks stretched. He would then come to another people and invite them. But they would reject him and he would go away from them and there would be drought for them and nothing would be left with them in the form of wealth. He would then walk through the waste, land and say to it: Bring forth your treasures, and the treasures would come out and collect (themselves) before him like the swarm of bees. He would then call a person brimming with youth and strike him with the sword and cut him into two pieces and (make these pieces lie at a distance which is generally) between the archer and his target. He would then call (that young man) and he will come forward laughing with his face gleaming (with happiness) and it would at this very time that Allah would send Christ, son of Mary, and he will descend at the white minaret in the eastern side of Damascus wearing two garments lightly dyed with saffron and placing his hands on the wings of two Angels. When he would lower his head, there would fall beads of perspiration from his head, and when he would raise it up, beads like pearls would scatter from it. Every non-believer who would smell the odour of his self would die and his breath would reach as far as he would be able to see. He would then search for him (Dajjal) until he would catch hold of him at the gate of Ludd and would kill him. Then a people whom Allah had protected would come to Jesus, son of Mary, and he would wipe their faces and would inform them of their ranks in Paradise and it would be under such conditions that Allah would reveal to Jesus these words: I have brought forth from amongst My servants such people against whom none would be able to fight; you take these people safely to Tur, and then Allah would send Gog and Magog( Yajuju and Majuju) and they would swarm down from every slope. The first of them would pass the lake of Tibering and drink out of it. And when the last of them would pass, he would say: There was once water there. Jesus and his companions would then be besieged here (at Tur, and they would be so much hard pressed) that the head of the ox would be dearer to them than one hundred dinirs and Allah's Apostle, Jesus, and his companions would supplicate Allah, Who would send to them insects (which would attack their necks) and in the morning they would perish like one single person. Allah's Apostle, Jesus, and his companions would then come down to the earth and they would not find in the earth as much space as a single span which is not filled with their putrefaction and stench. Allah's Apostle, Jesus, and his companions would then again beseech Allah, Who would send birds whose necks would be like those of camels and they would carry them and throw them where God would will. Then Allah would send rain which no house of clay or (the tent of) camels' hairs would keep out and it would wash away the earth until it could appear to be a mirror. Then the earth would be told to bring forth its fruit and restore its blessing and, as a result thereof, there would grow (such a big) pomegranate that a group of persons would be able to eat that, and seek shelter under its skin and milch cow would give so much milk that a whole party would be able to drink it. And the milch camel would give such (a large quantity of) milk that the whole tribe would be able to drink out of that and the milch sheep would give so much milk that the whole family would be able to drink out of that and at that time Allah would send a pleasant wind which would soothe (people) even under their armpits, and would take the life of every Muslim and only the wicked would survive who would commit adultery like asses and the Last Hour would come to them.

Sahih Muslim Book 041, Hadith Number 7015.

"Please lets change topic,"Hassan begged.

"Ya Allah take my soul before this time comes,"I prayed and heard my siblings muttering ameen.

"The thing is most of the signs of the last day are here and Allah has warned us in his book that it may come all of a sudden," Rukkaya added.

187. Yasaloonaka AAani alssaAAati ayyana mursaha qul innama AAilmuha AAinda rabbee la yujalleeha liwaqtiha illa huwa thaqulat fee alssamawati waalardi la tateekum illa baghtatan yasaloonaka kaannaka hafiyyun AAanha qul innama AAilmuha AAinda Allahi walakinna akthara alnnasi la yaAAlamoona

187. They ask you about the Hour (Day of Resurrection): "When will be its appointed time?" Say: "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord (Alone). None can reveal its time but He. Heavy is its burden through the heavens and the earth. It shall not come upon you except all of a sudden." They ask you as if you have a good knowledge of it. Say: "The knowledge thereof is with Allah (Alone) but most of mankind know not."(7:187)

"Ya Rukkaya which of the signs has appeared?" Hassan asked and Yaya Rukkaya explained that they are major and minor signs. None of the major signs had appeared yet but most of the minor signs had. She told us the 12 major signs.

"Almost all the minor signs have appeared,"Hussain cried out.

"Just look at how time passed rapidly. I can't believe its already 2022, 2017 feels like last week,"

"And do you know something?" Uncle Nour asked and we shook our heads.

"Immediately some of the major signs start appearing, the door of forgiveness will be closed and faith will not benefit those who have not previously believed nor those that have not derived any good from their faith"

We all kept quiet thinking about death, qabr and day of judgement. 'Jikin kowa yayi sanyi' It was Uncle Nour who broke the silence.

"I am not afraid of death, I am just afraid of my good deeds. Are my good deeds enough to take me to Jannah? Are my good deeds enough to protect me from the punishment of qabr and that of the day of judgement?

Will I take my book in my right or left hand? Will my sweat reach my feet or waist or will it cover my whole body? Will I passed by the siradi like a light, like a horse or like a tortoise? Will my Lord look at me? Will my Lord be happy to see me? On that day?" By now Uncle Nour was in tears. With tears rolling down in his eyes he started reciting these ayas

فَإِذَا جَاءَتِ الصَّاخَّةُ

33. Faitha jaati alssakhkhatu

33. Then, when there comes As-Sakhkhah (the Day of Resurrection's second blowing of Trumpet),

2. Yawma tarawnaha tathhalu kullu murdiAAatin AAamma ardaAAat watadaAAu kullu thati hamlin hamlaha watara alnnasa sukara wama hum bisukara walakinna AAathaba Allahi shadeedun

(22:1&2)

"I am not sure if it's authentic but I heard that some companions wished they would be turned into birds so that on the day of judgement they won't be judged. Imagine that? Those sahabas spent their lifes in the way of Allah, some whom spent their whole weath in sadaqah and zakkat, some among who lost their life for His sake, who were martyred, some from among them were promised paradise. Imagine that?

What do we have to say for ourselves? We commit sins everyday. We normalize haram. We don't even perform all our obligatory acts. What will we tell our lord? " I whispered.

"What are all of you doing here?" My mom had those mom's questioning look on her face when she entered my room and saw all of us quietly seated.

"Go and get ready please, our inlaws are coming in less than two hours"

"Are you done with packing Rukkaya?" Mama asked and Rukkaya nooded her head sniffing a little bit.

We all lazily stood up. The others left my room while I went to the bathroom and took a warm bath. By the time I finished getting ready it was already magrib. I prayed magrib before going downstairs. I peeped in Rukky's room and saw it empty except for the furniture and a box by the door. Everyone including the bride was ready when I went downstairs. I checked on the food at the table before slumping down next to the twins.

About thirty minutes later, a knock interuptted our conversation. Thinking it was Aheed's family, I went to open the door. But unfortunately for the second time that day, I met a handsome face. This time he was wearing light blue Kaftan with a black dara cap and polished black shoes. His hands were behind his back as if he was hiding something. I wondered how he knocked. He gave me his dazzling dimpled smile again and I slammed the door at his face for the second time that day.

"Someone is here to see you Uncle Nour". When Uncle Nour left, I turned to Yaya Ruqqaya and asked,

"Why is he here?" She knew who I was talking about before I even mentioned his name. I had told her how close we used to be and how he left without saying goodbye.

I could hear shuffling of leather and Uncle Nour going upstairs and coming back. Danmaula or should I call him Danburni said his salams and entered the living room. He shook hands with the twins, greeted Yaya Rukkaya, gave me a breathtaking smile and sat down next to Uncle Nour, opposite to me. I kept my eyes glued to my phone pretending to be engrossed in it. Hassan was roaming through the TV channels, he stopped at a channel that was showing .

"I think I have watched this movie before"

I took the remote and switched off the TV. Everyone except Danmaula gave me a clueless look. Danmaula just gave me his ravishing smile.

"Our in-laws are here" I said pointing at the door. I opened the door welcoming our in-laws. Umma, Abba Yaya Aheed and Salma, Muklis' younger sister all looked beautiful in their sa oufits. When Aheed saw his wife he gave her a side hug and a kiss on the cheeks before whispering,'I am finally taking you home, just yesterday to today seems like a hundred years to me. I missed you so much."

We headed straight to the dinning room. The food was scrumptious. We ate the dinner while the elders talked mainly about politics and the situation of Nigeria. Throughout the dinner the couple kept doing cute cute things and all I thought was if only I was in their shoes. I kept catching Danmaula staring at me. I ignored him focusing on the lovely couple, what the elders were taking about and my food.

We had a really good time with our new family members. The food was incredibly delicious. Even though I didn't really join in the conversation, I listened attentively and found it very interesting.

At about 11pm, our in-laws decided it was time to leave, time for Yaya Rukkaya to go to her new home. An hour ago Danmaula left. Before I knew it, I felt a lump in my throat. Even though we had so many misunderstandings, she was my sister, my bestfriend, my role model, the only person I completely confide in. I had no idea how much I would miss her.

"Uncle Nour will you please help me with my luggage? "Ya Rukky was looking everywhere but our faces.

Uncle Nour brought down her trolley and pulled it outside. The Lamido's family went out next. With tears in everyone's eyes we quietly followed after them.

"Are you ready to go?" Aheed asked Yaya Rukky while holding her hand. She turned around and looked at us, that was when the waterworks started. She ran to Baba first and hugged him tightly that for a moment I thought Baba had changed his favourite.

"Be a good wife, like your mom" he said wiping away her tears. He then looked up to Aheed " She is my princess, take good care of her".

Aheed gave Baba a tight smile before answering " in sha Allah with all my life". Rukky then walked to Mama next, she hugged her and cried on her shoulders. They stayed like that for some minutes until Mama broke the hug and said,

بَارَكَ اللَّهُ لَكَ وَبَارَكَ عَلَيْكُمَا وَجَمَعَ بَيْنَكُمَا فِي خَيْرٍ

("May Allah grant you Barakaat (blessings) and descend His blessings on both of you and keep you united".)

She gave her a kiss on the forhead before moving to me. My tears immediately started flowing. "I will miss you," I whispered embracing her tightly. After we finished ruining our clothes with tears, she hugged the twins and ruffled their hair saying, "I will miss you two naughty boys". She hugged Uncle Nour next, he held her hand and put it into Aheed's.

"I entrust her to you,". They shook hands and he waved at us. He led the crying Ya Rukky to the passenger's seat and opened the door for her. With one last wave at us, Yaya Rukky entered her husband's car. Ya Aheed went back to his side of the car and followed his parents out of our gate. We kept waving until the gateman closed the gate. I sighed. It had been a long weekened.

We sadly went inside our house. You know that feelings? When something is missing. Well it was sad.

"One daughter gone, one more to go. You are next even though I would like to keep you for a very long time," Baba joked.

"Don't worry Baba, I will stay with you for as long as you want, so " I joked back.

I was quiet exhausted, I lazily headed to my room. I was lazy to even switch on the light. I changed to my pjs in the bathroom and jumped on my bed. I was surprised to fall on a leather and heavy something. I used my phone's flashlight to check what I fell on. I was flabbergasted to see a box of my favorite chocolates. Baba didn't tell me he bought chocolates for me. When I looked up that I saw a bunch of flowers next to it. I ran to the door and switched on the light. And right there in the middle of my bed was a box of chocolates, bunch of flowers and an envelope. I ran back to my bed and took the envelope. At the front it said,

"Flowers and chocolates wins the heart of every girl and makes unforgivable things forgivable things to her, I am sorry.

Why did those sound like my words? I turned the envelope around and found another writing at the back.

' I wish she has a glance at this
So she can free her prisoner with ease

She is the remedy you sort for
For in her love you will be found

Stop wandering and go to her
With your bowl of love to gift her

Perhaps she's there waiting for you
A little courage and you all will be safe. '

Now that she has a glance at this
I hope she could free her prisoner.😁

I needed a better reading position. I folded my legs on my bed, opened my windows and opened the envelope. It had quite a number of papers inside. I picked the first one, with nice breeze blowing through my window, I started reading the letter.

25th August 2016

Assalam alaiki Roohi(My soul),

I am writing this because I can't say this to your face. How I wish I could. Lol, soon in sha Allah. You have no idea how thankful I am that you came into my life and brought me light, happiness and joy. These two weeks I spent with you made me realize the feelings I have for you. I will forever keep these memories in the depth of my heart. I don't even want to remember how I am leaving you tomorrow. It could be just so difficult to leave someone I love like that.

Your Habibi.

26th August 2016

Assalam Alaiki Roohi.

I still can't believe it. I still can't believe I left without saying goodbye to you. I just hated goodbyes. Believe me or not, this is much more harder for me than it is for you. You have no idea what I felt when I walked out of the hall. Each step I took broke my heart. I kept seeing the beautiful smile you gave this morning even as our plane landed I really wanted to tell you I am leaving but I just couldn't. I am so sorry.

Your Habibi.

2nd September 2016

Assalam Alaiki Roohi,

Are you wondering why I still haven't contacted you? Well I told Muhammad Nour about the feelings I have for you and we reached an agreement. The agreement was that I could not contact you throughout my stay here. And if by the time I come back and we still both have feelings for each other he would talk to Baba. Cliché much?

The first week in Uk wasn't so bad. It's just that I miss you so badly. I think about you every single second since I left.

Your Habibi

30th September 2016

Assalam alaikui Roohi

Want to hear about how I started having feelings for you?

Well it wasn't only your beauty and memerizing voice that made me attracted to you but also your love for deen. I probably started having feelings for you during Ramadan when we were coming back from masjid. Remember how you clearly decleared your love for me that beautiful night? I still perfectly remember the night as if it was yesterday.

Your Habibi.

5th November 2016

Assalam Alaiki Roohi.

I didn't realize my feelings for you until months later though when I saw Umar in your house. I became so worried about you that I had sleepless nights. I decided no matter what danger I will get my self into I would protect you. Imagine how I felt when I saw your text saying you were going to go and find out yourself. I was in the middle of doing something very important but I quickly left whatever I was doing and went to see you. Up till then I realized I have feelings for you but I had no intention of marrying you. Why? because I didn't think it is possible.

How have you being? I hope you haven't started forgetting about me. For my part I haven't forgotten about you for a single second since I came here.

Your Habibi.

26th December 2016

Assalam alaiki Roohi,

The time I made the decision to marry was those two weeks before I left Nigeria. But even now I still have some insecurities. You were born with a silver spoon and you're used to an extravagant life while I am poor. Will I be able to give you all you want and need? Will your family allow you to marry me? And most importantly do you love me and want to marry me?

Your Habibi.

4th March 2017.

Assalam Alaiki Roohi,

Have you ever wondered why I came here? Well it's because of you.

I came all the way to Cambridge just because of you. I want to study and become educated, rich and eligible for you to marry. I have lost hope to become anything in life but immediately I met you, everything changed. I had given up hope of ever suceeding in life but after I met you I felt the need to become someone, someone educated and well off, someone you could marry. Immediately I realized the love I had for you, I applied for scholarship and with the help of the Almighty I got one. Yes you changed my views. You light me up. You are my love.

Your Habibi.

3rd August 2017.

Asslam Alaiki Roohi,

Guess what happened today Well someone asked me why I am studying for this exams. Do you want to hear the answer I gave him? I told him I found my Halal princess, the one I want to spend the rest of my life with and that's why I'm here. In a far away country studying for this stupid exams.

Because of my good results, Bilal's dad gifted me with a brand new car and a two rooms apartment. Do you think I should accept it? I am already counting down to the day I will see you again.

Your Habibi.

27th November 2017,

Asslam Alaiki Roohi,

You look so beautiful, OMG you have no idea how I felt when you opened the door Yesterday afternoon. It reminded me of the first time I saw you. I understood it was time.

Hameeda I want to ask for your permission before doing this. Do you give me the go ahead to go and ask Baba for your hand?

Your Habibi.

I felt hot tears trickling down my cheeks, there and then I made my decision.

The End!

Don't worry there's an epilogue. I won't leave you at a cliffhanger will I? They are some that will slap me if I do.
