I'm not entirely sure what's going to happen in the next couple of days or, I guess even, weeks. I know it's only been a few days since I last wrote, but it's felt like months. For a summation of things, I'm starting a new life here, one that hopefully isn't as dangerous as the past.. and even though Kila is no longer around, I still have Gage and I'm starting to get to know Troy more. With Troy's idea to get situated and what not.. I hope that means I'll start to meet other people as well. I'm still not sure how I feel about the whole idea or even what he had meant.. but I'm sure it'll go well.
~ logged on a morning.. I've gotta ask for the day

My eyes wandered over the page a few times, checking over for spelling errors and such before I finally turned them up at Troy. He stood at the oven, cooking breakfast or something. We hadn't gotten the chance to talk yesterday evening as planned since he ended up being too busy but honestly, I didn't mind. It had given me some time to think.

"Hey, what day is it by the way?" I asked, shifting a tad on the table.

"It is.." His voice strained as he leaned to look at the calendar on the fridge. "Friday, the 17th. Of March."

"Thanks." Without hesitation, I scribbled the day down beneath the last entry. When I went to close the book, I flipped through a few pages and noticed my sketching practices. It had definitely been a while since i practiced..

"So, I was thinking, for you first challenge, or I guess 'job' you could help out at that little coffee shop you mentioned about earlier. Seems like a good place to start." As he spoke, Troy turned to the table with a plate in hand of eggs and toast.

"The coffee shop?" The brief memory of Ging and I stopping by to ask questions popped into my head. Almost immediately I felt a pang of cringe enter my system.. "Ahh.. why there?"

"Well.. I mean, I assume it'd be easy.. it's a coffee shop and the other workers there are pretty nice. It could help you get used to being in a town like environment." Troy added in, using his fork to emphasize his point.

After a moment of consideration I let out what felt like a shaky sigh and hesitantly nodded. I just hoped that no-one there would recognize or remember me.

"Aren't you that guy who came in a few days ago?"

  Who could've known.

"Ah.. yea. I did.. come in." I forced a feeble smile to my face as I felt my ability to talk dwindling into nothing. It was as if my words were stolen and this onslaught of anxiety took it's place. The girl who spoke was stood in front of me, an odd look creeping onto her face before she nodded.

"Okay.. well, we could use your help stocking up things in inventory. Marc can show you what  to do." The girl implied, gesturing to a burly man in the corner. hunched over a bunch of boxes as he seemed to be humming to himself. It was like he was in his own little world.

"Cool. Thanks." With a brief nod, I turned and approached Marc.

At first, I wasn't sure how to get his attention, seeing as he was as preoccupied as he was. So, I cleared my throat, hoping that would do the trick. "Sir.? I was told to come help you.?"

The burly man perked up, his eyes landing on me in an instant. The face was contorted into a scowl, seemingly upset at me for interrupting his work. During this few moments of silence, I felt like I was being examined, judged or something along those line.

"That's lovely lad! Could always use an extra hand r' two. Grab yerself a box and follow me to the back."

I stood there for a second in shock as the man's entire demeanor changed. He seemed to light up; a broad smile filling his face and his bushy eyebrows raising with enthusiasm. His accent was thick and even though I couldn't quite figure out where it could be from, i didn't dare ask.

From that point on, the day went smoothly regardless of how awkward every single conversation went..

I stood in front of the building I started at, staring up at it with longingness. Never in my entire life had I wanted to lay down as much as I did right now.. Yet there was a buzz in the back of my brain.

My legs tended to walk to my room on their own as my brain began to mull around the new life of mine for what felt like the millionth time.. however the thoughts didn't seem bad. In face I felt like they began to feel the opposite

There was an excitement in the air.. and I was ready for it.
