Our whole lives we've been fighting a seemingly endless war that would have proven to be pointless no matter what we did. All the monsters that we've killed, all the lives that were saved and lost... Did it even make a difference?

In the end, there will always be another case to solve and the pain will never stop. The world, as we all know of, is cruel in that way and it seems as though being a 'Nephilim' myself only proves to make life all the more difficult.

I was an abomination to the 'angels,' so they wanted me dead. And the 'demons' only wanted me for my great source of power. During this time, I was going through severe depression and had even made a couple of suicidal attempts.

Thing is... I was one of the few kids who happened to be abandoned by her parents. Putting it in simpler terms, I'm an 'orphan,' so being chased from place to place by both 'heaven' and 'hell,' definitely couldn't have made matters any worse.

A couple times, I thought it would have been better if I had just ended myself. Seeing as I didn't have much of a purpose in life other than just waiting to die, maybe life would be better off without me. But then... The 'Winchesters' came along and changed everything.

I remember that day as if it were yesterday. It was 'May 4th, 1993' and all the kids around fourteen-years-old were gathered in the waiting room, waiting to be interviewed by a family. And that family just so happened to be the 'Winchesters,' including a father and his two sons.

I wasn't too excited about the possibility of getting picked since there was a 1 out of 99% chance that I would get chosen anyways but I kept my fingers crossed. When I first met the family, my first reaction was, well... I thought they were a pretty normal decent looking family. But boy was I wrong!

*Flashback*

MISUMI: "Hello?"

Introduced to me was the father, 'John' was his name. He seemed like the 'Military' type, so, I knew what I was getting myself into, but... That's not what caught my eye. The fact that there was no woman by his side made me curious as to what could have happened to her.

???: "Hello!"

One of the boys chirped back and immediately I had taken a liking to him. 'Sam Winchester,' was his name. He had to have been at least ten-years-old at the time and next to him stood John's eldest son, 'Dean Winchester,' who happened to be the same age as me.

SAM: "What's your name?"

Shyly I shuffled my feet.

MISUMI: "Misumi. Misumi Hawaitorozu."

The little boy only beamed in response.

DEAN: "Interesting name."

Dean compliments and I gave a quiet "thank you" in response before John spoke up.

JOHN: "Nice to meet you, Misumi. I'm John and these are my two sons, Dean, and Sam."

I smile.

MISUMI: "It is very nice to meet you too, sir."

John just nods before moving on to the questions.

JOHN: "So tell me. What are your plans for the future?"

I paused to recompose myself before answering honestly.

MISUMI: "To save as many people as I can and protect those who are close to me!"

This seemed to have been an answer that John was hoping for because his stoic expression softens.

JOHN: "That's a very good dream, Misumi."

I nodded in response before Dean decided to ask a question.

DEAN: "What type of music do you like?"

Another pause.

MISUMI: "Classic Rock and Hard Metal, of course!"

Immediately a beaming smile had lit up on Dean's face at that.

DEAN: "Me too!"

He exclaims. I only laughed in response before it was Sam's turn to ask a question.

SAM: "When's your birthday?"

Instantly I responded to the question.

MISUMI: "January 23rd, 1979."

Visibly all of their eyes widened.

DEAN: "Wow, really? Mines January 24th which means you're a day older than me."

There then came a beeping noise, signaling that my turn to talk to the family was over.

???: "All right, Misumi. Your turn is over."

The Foster Lady spoke snobbishly.

MISUMI: "Hn. Yes, Jaakuna Majo." (Evil Witch)

I replied with a smirk and noticeably her eyes widened before she scowls.

JM: "Don't. Call. Me. That."

She snarls and at this I couldn't help but let out a bitter laugh before becoming deadly serious.

MISUMI: "Why? It's what you are, is it not?"

For a few moments we just stood there in silence, glaring at each other until she looked away.

MISUMI: "Ha! I win!"

I beamed. Then I turned towards the 'Winchesters.'

MISUMI: "Have a great rest of your guys's day."

The 'Winchesters' all just nod in response before I exit the room.

MISUMI: "Stupid Jaakuna Majo."

I muttered incoherent words as I went up to my room and once there, I started researching on how to kill 'Witches.' Unknown to me, the 'Winchesters' were 'Hunters' and unbeknownst to them, I was one too.

As I was skimming through a book about 'Witches,' I felt my chest tighten and I started sweating profusely. It was hard to breath and immediately I knew that it was the work of the Jaakuna Majo.

I tried screaming but all that came out were sharp and ragged gasps before I dropped to the ground. As this all happened, a knock came from the door.

DEAN: "Hey, Misumi! You in there? We have some good news!"

I didn't answer, no, I couldn't answer which immediately brought tears to my eyes.

JOHN: "Misumi?"

They knocked again and when I didn't answer, they decided to try the door handle which I thankfully kept unlocked.

SAM: "Misumi!"

Immediately Sam and Dean had rushed over to my side while John started searching for the hex bag the Witch had placed somewhere in my room.

DEAN: "Shhh. It's going to be okay. Shhh, I'm here now."

His words were slightly comforting to me but time was running out. My eyes start to roll back while I desperately try gasping for air.

DEAN: "Damn it! Hold on just a little longer, Misumi! Just a little longer!"

Weakly I grasp onto his flannel, trying to get a grip of myself but it wasn't enough. My hand drops and my eyes close and right as I was about to welcome death, air fills my lungs. Gratefully I gulped in the air, unaware of my surroundings, too fixed on trying to gain back my breath.

DEAN: "Oh, thank god."

He sighs in relief and slightly I relaxed, knowing I was safe and that I was not alone.

SAM: "What's this?"

Sam had found the book I was reading and there came gasps.

JOHN: "You're a Hunter."

John pointed out rather than asked and slightly I nod in response before I was suddenly embraced by him.

JOHN: "You're safe now."

He reassures me and slightly I returned the embrace before letting darkness consume me. Afterwards, John had ganked the 'Witch' and they adopted me. To say I was happy is a complete understatement, I was overjoyed. Dean also seemed slightly hyped to have me join them along on their hunts and adventures and I was too.

I finally had a purpose, I finally had a family that I could love and protect. "Saving People, Hunting Things, The Family Business." I realized that the 'Winchesters' were my reason for living, nothing more, nothing less. If it means giving up my life to keep them safe and alive, I will gladly do so.
