2015

This whole movie is as gorgeous as Saoirse Ronan herself and is one of my comfort movies even though it made the rest of my family angry.

Honorable mentions: Inside Out, Room, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, The Danish Girl

2016

This will be with me for the rest of my life.

Honorable mentions: The Edge of Seventeen, Lion, Hidden Figures, Zootopia, Captain Fantastic

2017

2017 was full of comfort movies in a year I really needed them, but the top spot has to go to The Florida Project. It feels like a documentary about an area no one associates with poverty. And visually it's a color explosion.

Honorable mentions: Gifted, Lady Bird, Wonder, Summer 1993, Thor:Ragnarok, Guardians of the Galaxy 2

2018

This is also in my top five movies so it had to take the spot. More family drama than horror, it's just so good and renewed my interest in sign language.

Honorable mentions: Eighth Grade, Leave No Trace, Black Panther, Bird Box, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, Avengers: Infinity War

2019

This is the absolute superior adaptation and I could live in it forever and I never wanted it to end.

Honorable mentions: Jojo Rabbit, Just Mercy, Marriage Story, Avengers: End Game

2020

There were so few 2020 releases, this took the top spot almost by default BUT I really, truly loved it. It was the movie I needed so, so much at one time but it came a little too late.

Honorable mentions: Enola Holmes, Troop Zero

2021

I haven't seen most of the 2021 releases I want/plan to watch so this is actually tentative BUT for now it is Tick Tick Boom because I could honestly watch it every day.

Honorable mentions: At this time there aren't any

2022
TO BE DETERMINED

Recent movies I want to see that may possibly affect my 2020 and 2021 rankings are: Minari, Coda, Nomadland, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and In the Heights.
