“Hey, mind if I join you boys?” Collette had approached Marc and Nathaniel in the cafeteria. She hardly waited for a response before setting her tray down beside Marc. “Did you boys hear about the talent show auditions tomorrow?”

Nathaniel looked up from his drawing of himself, the Evillustrator, fighting crime with Delphine. “What talent show?”

Collette took a large bite of her pasta. “Auditions are tomorrow,” she stated as she pulled a flyer out of her jacket pocket and set it on the table. “I assumed you boys knew.”

“We aren’t the performing type,” Marc mumbled.

Nathaniel nodded, and began eating his own food. “We are the ones behind the scenes.”

Collette let out a laugh, “Let me guess.” She pointed to Nathaniel, “You’re the artist,” then to Marc. “And you’re the writer?” The two boys glanced at each other with colored cheeks, and Collette felt her face go pale. “Well, Tomato,-”

Nathaniel looked at her from behind a wall of his red hair. “Tomato?”

Collette continued as if he hadn’t interrupted her, “You can put your artwork on display, and Marc,” The boy with green eyes looked up with an eyebrow slightly raised. “You could write a skit. I can help you. I may not be a good writer, but I am not that bad.

The two boys were a bit concerned. After all, neither of them enjoyed much attention.
