This will be a little different from the Manhua, I hope you like it.

The 18th year of the Region of Yuanzhen, Cloud Recesses.

[Author's Pov]: Earlier...In the Jin Dynasty.

It was a beautiful day for mother nature to hear the birds chirping, the flowers started to blow, and the scenery of Gusu showed more entity than any other place in the world; however, in Cloud Recess, Near a wooden bridge were five teenagers who were all the age of 16 in which they continued walking with each other as one of them asked: "Huh?... I'm wondering," said the young teenager, whose description was very easy to describe. His eye color was a mix of blue, gray & purple hues while his long black hair had a red ribbon that was tied into a high ponytail, and his clothing was in black, gray, and red:

*Wei Wuxian: the son of Cangse Saren & a past friend of the Yummeng-Jiang Sect's Leader Jiang Fengmian, and the head disciple of the Yummeng Jiang sect*

"Why did your Sects send you here?" Wei Wuxian asked. He crossed his arms over his head when his friend started to scratch the back of his head by giving Wei Wuxian a nervous smile, but the companion's description differed from his. His clothing was dark gray with yellow linings, and his eye color was bright brown mixed with a golden color as he held onto his paper fan with his right hand by answering his friend's question: "I was sent here by my brother. He continues telling them:

*Nie Hauisang: The second master of the Qinghe-Nie Sect, his older brother is Nie MingJue*

This teenager, who calls himself Nie Hauisang, smiled nervously to his friends as he continued to tell them: "He heard of that Senior Lan Quiren of the Gusu-Lan Sect has brought up so many excellent disciples of the Lan Sect."

But there were only two disciples from the same Sect as their master, who told his other disciple: "They all say that those who've studied a year or two in his classroom, no matter how utterly useless they were when they went in, when they come out, at least they'd look proper."

This made Wei Ying smirk at himself and said: "Don't I look proper enough right now?" He asked, who turned over his shoulder to see another teenager, whose description was also different from the others: his hair was lifted in a whole bun except for his bangs along with a small braid behind his head, and his clothing was in dark gray and purple linings, and his eye-color was purple; However, he gave Wei Ying a stern look by crossing his arms and answered him:

*Jiang Cheng: The son of the Yummeng-Jiang Sect's sect Leader, Jiang FengMiang*

"You'll definitely be a mark of shame within the teacher's career," he told him with a grin. Nie Hauisang smiled at Wei Ying and told him, "The Jiang Sect's Lotus Pier is much more fun, isn't it?"

"It depends on how you have fun." Wei Ying smirked and continued, telling him: "There definitely aren't as many rules; we don't have that to wake up this early either."

Nie Hauisang, on the other hand, beamed in excitement along with his companions, who beamed: "When do you wake up? What do you do during the day?"

This made Wei Ying's smirk grow even bigger, while the others got curious about it too, "Him?" Jiang Cheng pauses for a second and points at his brother by crossing his arms: "He rises at nine and sleeps at one," he continues: "After he wakes up, he doesn't meditate or practice his sword. He fools around with the water, picks out lotus pods & hunts down for pheasants."

Wei Ying chuckles at Jiang Cheng's remark by placing his hand on his shoulder and saying: "No matter how many pheasants I hunt, I'll always be the best!" "Next year, I'll go to Yummeng to study! Nobody is going to stop me!" Nie Hauisang said with confidence. Wei Ying then laughed at his friend's over-confident words until one of Qinghe's companions spoke to him:

"Nobody will stop you, he says: "It's just that your brother will break your legs." Nie Hauisang, on the other hand, tensed himself as a sigh came out of his mouth while the others started laughing at him: "To be honest, Gusu is pretty fun as well." Wei Ying tells them for Jiang Cheng, who raises an eyebrow at his younger brother with a confused look.

Nie Hauisang then grabs Wei Ying's shoulder by saying: "Wei-Xiong here's a piece of sincere advice for you, he tells him worriedly: "During your time in Gusu, you must remember not to provoke a certain person."

"Who? Lan Quiren?" Wei Ying asked him by tilting his head to hear him properly. "Not the old man. The one you should watch out for is his proudest disciple, Lan Zhan." *sorry for the sneaky details of this story😅*

It took him a moment to remember this 'proudest' disciple he had encountered; he made a 'hmm' sound, "Lan Zhan, one of the Two Jades of Lan? Lan Wangji?" Then Wei Ying finally remembers the guy and gives a questionable look at Nie Hauisang: "Is he a boy who looks quite handsome?" He continues describing Lan Wangji's clothing: "Dressed in all white, wearing a ribbon on his forehead, carrying a silver sword on his back? The only thing is that, with his sour face, he looks like he's at a funeral."

Nie Hauisang nodded. "That's him!" He exclaimed: "But he's been doing secluded meditation for the past few days. You came here yesterday; when did you see him?"

"Last night." Wei Ying said quietly.

As for Jiang Cheng, he widens his eyes in shock and asks, "Last...Last night! There's a curfew at the Cloud Recesses. Where did you see him? Why didn't I know?" Before he could ask his brother more questions, he pointed at the rooftop and answered, "Over there." Then, they all keep quiet for a while until Wei Wuxian begins telling the story to his friends.

Flashback to last night's event by WWX's story.~

' "Last, I was tossing & turning, and I finally couldn't help it anymore, so I went down the mountain & brought back two jars of them from the city. Just as I flipped over the wall, before I even had the chance to get both my legs inside, I got caught by him." '

' Emperor's Smile! I'll give you a jar, so could you pretend you never saw me?' I told him. But he kept quiet by glaring at me and said: 'Liquor is prohibited in Cloud Recess.' He said coldly. His face was sour, and his golden eyes pierced my soul, but I didn't care; I tried to mess with him.

---

"He said as well." Wei Ying told his brother, who said, "And then?" Jiang Cheng asked, "And then, he said..."

---

'Alright, I continued telling by raising the two jars of Liquor: 'Liquor is prohibited in the Cloud Recesses. Then if you don't go in & drink on the wall, that wouldn't be a violation, right?' So I finished it in one gulp right before his eyes. Then we started fighting, and we even broke two jars of Emperor's Smile.

Flashback to Wei Wuxian's story ended~

"What a shame!" Said the Quinghe Sect disciples, including Nie Hauisang, while Wei Wuxian's lips curved into a bright smile at them as his brother Jiang Cheng told him:

"...Fighting without permission is prohibited in the Cloud Recess," he continues: "Violating three rules in just one night, you are a special snowflake, aren't you?"

"Lan Zhan's moves were quite good!" Wei Ying points out to his friends until someone grabs his wrist by saying:

"You're gonna die, Wei-Xiong!" Nie Hauisang exclaims: "Lan Zhan has probably never been at such a loss before. He'll be watching you for sure!"

Before Wei Ying could say anything else about it, Nie Hauisang squealed in fear and pulled Wei Ying's sleeve in front of him: "Umm.....B-bro W-Wei," he stuttered out: "It-think there's something down there and I-I-I t-t-think-k it's a dead bo-MMPH!"

A hand covered his mouth so no one from the Orchid Room could hear. As for the others, they have gotten a little closer to the body, along with the sect leader's sons, whose faces were shocked to see that the body was a woman. They dashed down near the riverbank, with their eye wide in shock to see an unconscious maiden (from another's perspective), who was floating around the riverbank without anyone knowing about it.

Wei Ying, however, finally jumped down from the bridge as he pulled her up to the surface and kneeled to check her pulse. Her description showed her beauty (not as handsome as Wei Ying, of course!) and elegance: She had an oval face, her skin was white as porcelain, and her clothing was light blue & white, but it was soaking wet as her jet-black hair was floating in the water.

Suddenly, she widens her eyes as she tries to attack Jiang Cheng, who moves away from her fist. She gives him a low growl and then completely faints on Nie Hauisang's lap.

He tensed up when her head lay down on his lap; this made Wei Wuxian smirk as his brother Jiang Cheng, who then took out a talisman from his robes and placed it onto her chest as it began heating her body: "Take her to our room and make sure no one sees her, o-okay?" Wei Ying ordered as Nie Hauisang's companions nodded by carrying her body when Jiang Cheng also spoke out to them:

"These two talismans will make both of you invisible," he continued: "Stay in our dorm until we come back, clear?" And so they did.
