Last Time On Monster Hunter Railgun............

"To make it easy to explain, it allows me to control lighting that comes from body. I can use it to control any Iron Sand and lift anything metal related. I can use this power to flick anything with my hand at super fast speed. It earned me the title 'Railgun'." Said Mikoto.

"I see. So Mikoto...... you sure you can't remember how you got here? To this planet I mean." Said Winda.

Mikoto closes her eyes for a second. "Well.... It is all hazy but I can remember something. I remember hanging out with my friends like any normal day that goes on in Academy City. On that day, my friend Kuroko told me that some strange black stone pillars with ancient markings appeared in the Nature Park in Academy City. " Said Mikoto.

"Black... stone pillars? With ancient markings?" asked Winda.

"Yeah. It was weird. Then suddenly, without any warning.... a massive black storm with blue lighting come out of it, and the cloud was even touching the ground, begins to approach the city. Everyone tries to get inside before the storm came. I was about to get into a building for safety but a strong powerful wind coming from it begins to push against me and launches me into the storm. Once I entered that cloud.... everything was happening so fast that I couldn't make out what was happening before my eyes. Next thing I know, I landed in that jungle where you came to save me from those monsters that were about to eat me." Said Mikoto.

"Hmmm......." Said Winda as she had her hands on her chin as she begins to think.

"What's wrong Winda?" asked Mikoto.

"Mikoto..... I think what ever brought you here, and those strange black stone pillars appearing in your Academy City might be totally related on what's going on here. So I might be right from before. The sudden increase of the monster population and the thing that brought you here are somehow might be related." Said Winda.

"But what does it all mean Winda?" asked Mikoto.

"That... I don't know. But for one thing, it gives a lead for us to look into. For now, just get some rest Mikoto. We resume our journy back the base when it is night time." Said Winda.

"Okay......" Said Mikoto before closing her eyes and begins to take a nap.

Winda watches Mikoto go to sleep. She then smiled. 'Mikoto..... no matter what happens, I promise that I will find a way to help you get back home.' Thought Winda. She then keeps a watch out for the sleeping Mikoto until it is night time.

Mikoto, Winda and Rathy have taken refuge in a cave. Mikoto asked Winda about her past and how did she meet Rathy. It was a sad story when Mikoto heard it. It was then Mikoto turn to tell Winda something. She remembers a little bit on how she got here but nothing on what happened when she was pulled into that strange cloud. Winda now believes that the mysterious increase in the Monsters population and the strange cloud that somehow that brought Mikoto here are indeed connected somehow.

Night Time..............

As the sun continues to cast light on the desert area, the hours go by faster as the sun slowly begins to set on the horizon. As soon as the sun begins to set, the moon begins to rise and the sky becomes dark with the stars shining in the sky.

Back in the cave, the two humans and the Rathalos were still resting in the cave. Winda somehow fell asleep herself. She slowly opened up her eyes and shakes her head to get rid of any sleepiness in her eyes.

"Oh boy.... I must have fallen asleep." Said Winda as she rubs out the tiredness from her eyes. 

She then noticed the still sleeping Mikoto right next to her. Winda gives Mikoto shoulders a little shake. "Mikoto. Wake up." Said Winda.

Mikoto eyes slowly opened up. She slowly stands straight up and lets out a loud yawn and stretch her arms.

"Is it night time already?" Asked Mikoto.

"Yep. The desert area and the air itself should be at a acceptable temperature for us to travel again right now." Said Winda.

"Good lets.... huh?" asked Mikoto as she just noticed something.

"What's wrong?" asked Winda.

"Is that large tunnel?" asked Mikoto as she points to the large tunnel that goes deeper at the end of the cave they are currently are in at the moment.

"Oh... yeah I forgot to mention this..... IN the desert area, there are some caves that have tunnels that can connect to one to another or connect to a large underground caverns." Said Winda.

"Are there.... any monsters that use these tunnels?" asked a worried Mikoto.

"Yes..... I think I get what you are saying Mikoto. A Monster could have snuck up on us when we were resting in here during the day. But not one single Monster species did that." Said Winda.

"Why do you think that?" Asked Mikoto.

"Hmm... Its possible that.... something must be going wrong. Want to check it out?" asked Winda.

"Yes. Wake up Rathy as well okay?" Asked Mikoto as she begins to walk into the tunnel.

"Rathy! Time to wake up buddy." said Winda as she calls out to her friend.

Rathy slowly opens up his eyes. He saw that Winda and Mikoto are walking into the tunnel. He slowly begins to stand up and begins to walk after them.

Just as Rathy was the last being to walk into the deepest part of this cave, he stops for a moment. He turns his head around when he though he heard something. This confused Rathy as he didn't see anything behind him.

"Rathy! Come on!" Said Winda as she called out to him. Rathy turn his head back forward and resume his walk and catch up with Mikoto and Winda.

Had he stay for a extra few seconds, Rathy would have indeed noticed something. Just outside, by the entrance of the cave, something large was approaching the cave entrance. And a large foot stomps right infront of the cave. A small growl was heard, as for who ever that large foot belongs to, it is on the hunt.

Deep With The Cave............

"Wow...." Said Mikoto as she walks in the longest cave tunnel. She sees tons of glowing crystals hanging down from the ceiling.

"I know. Nature sometimes have amazing sights to behold." Said Winda as she walk right next to Mikoto. Rathy continues to walk behind them.

"So where do you think this tunnel leads to?" asked Mikoto.

"At best guess....... some large opening in the cave. Possible a best place for a Monster to rest or make a nest." Said Winda.

"A nest? Underground? Your serious?" asked Mikoto

"Yeah. A Monster creates a nest to lay their eggs. They make nest anywhere where they believe it is safe for them." Said Winda.

"You world is weird and strange." Said Mikoto.

"Not as weird as yours." Said Winda.

"Hmmmmmmmm.......... You may have a point." Said Mikoto.

They slowly begin to reach the end of the tunnel. As they exit the tunnel, they begin to walk down some kind of stone ramp that goes downward in a large part of the cave. On the cave ceiling, their is a small hole that is connect to the surface. A bit of moon light is coming out of the small hole and lighting up the middle of the large cave area.

In the middle of this large cave area, there is a large nest. In the nest is a large creature that is sleeping. It has some of the characteristics of a Rathalos but has green scales. And it doesn't have the markings on the wings like a Rathalos does. And it has moss like fur on its back and on its wings. It has poison spikes on the end of its tail. A Rathian.

"What is that?" asked Mikoto.

"Rathian. Member of the Rath family. The female species for Rathalos. But... something is wrong here." Said Winda.

"What do you mean?" asked Mikoto.

"Look." Said Winda as she points at the Rathian.

Winda is right. There is something wrong with this Rathian. It has tons of scratches and cuts on its armor wings and head area. Like she is recovering from a massive fight.

"She..... she is wounded." Said Mikoto as she carefully walks over to the Rathian.

"Yes indeed." Said Winda as she walk with Mikoto.

Mikoto walks up to the face area of the Rathian. Mikoto noticed how hard the Rathian is breathing and how much damage is on the Rathian face. And Mikoto can see how deep some of those cuts and slashes are on the Rathian body and face.

"What do you think happened to her Winda?" asked Mikoto.

"With the sudden increase in monster population, it is possible that strong monsters are starting to take over certain areas as their territory. And it looks like that this one is an example of it." Said Winda.

"But what kind of monster species would do these kinds of wounds?" asked Mikoto as she moves her right hand over on of the cuts on the Rathian neck area.

"I don't know." Said Winda.

Suddenly, the Rathian eyes opened up wide. The Rathian slowly gets up and spreads her wings out and took a defense stance. The Rathian begins to growl. Rathy begins to growl back and roars at the awaken Rathian.

"Whoa whoa..... Take it easy. We are not going to hurt you. Right Winda?" asked Mikoto.

"Indeed. Now just take it easy their Rathian." Said Winda.

The Rathian didn't listen to them. At all. But it is still growling. But... the way it is looking straight forward, the Rathian is not growling at them.

"Um...... what is the Rathian looking at?" Asked Mikoto. Her answer was the sound of a large dangerous growl coming from behind them.

"Its... behind us... isn't it?" Asked Winda in a nervous tone.

"Yep." Said a nervous Mikoto.

Winda, Mikoto and Rathy slowly turns around to see what made that growl. Coming down from the stone incline bridge was the monster in question. The creature had blue spikes on its back and has small spikes on its head with two on its head positioned like horns. It has a huge blue blade like tai. It is a Glavenus.

Glavenus looks at the prey and foes infront of him. He takes a deep breath before releasing a very loud roar.

"Scatter!" Said Winda. She, Mikoto and Rathy barely got of the way just as the Glavenus begins to charge at the Rathian.

The Rathian spreads her wings and flaps into the air and begins to dive bomb at the Glavenus with her talons ready to strike.

The Glavenus tries to bite the Rathian and bring her back to the ground. But the Rathian keeps dodging the bite attacks and begins to slash at the Glavenus face.

The Glavenus mouth begins to glow really red. It then breaths a stream of fire that nearly hits the Rathian, if she didn't dodge it in time. The Rathian then tail slap the creature really hard on its side. Even though it didn't do enough damage, she hopes to at least get some poison damage on the Glavenus.

The Glavenus was not faced by the attack or the poison attack as well from the spikes on the Rathian tail. The Glavenus brought the tip of his tail near his mouth. It bite on the blade tail and begins to sharpen it with its mouth. The tail begins to glow red. The Glavenus then jump into the air and did a tail slash at the Rathian.

The Rathian couldn't dodge in time and got a huge slash on her chest. The sudden attack caused the Rathian to lose its balance with flying in the air. The Glavenus took this chance and bite on the Rathian tail and begins to spin around until it launch her into the cave walls really hard. SO hard that the Rathian was knocked out cold.

The Glavenus then slowly turn its attention to the two humans and Rathy. He narrowed his eyes at them before releasing a battle ready roar with its blade tail still glowing.

"At least we know about what Monster that was responsible for those cuts that were on the Rathian. So.....Winda Got any info about this type of monster?" asked Mikoto as she draws out her sword.

"A Glavenus. A very dangerous Monster. As you just saw, it has a blade like tail that can get sharper if its bites on it. Hunters usually have to be in a group to take on a monster like this." Said Winda before pulling out her weapon.

"Well.... got any tips on how to defeat this?" asked Mikoto as she as a little bit nervous at this moment.

"Well first thing to do is..... DUCK!!!!!!" Said Winda. She and Mikoto duck down to avoid a incoming tail slash.

Rathy narrowed his eyes in anger before releasing a large stream of fire from his mouth and directing it to the Glavenus. The Glavenus blocks the incoming attack with its tail.

"Okay? Any other tips that I should know?!" asked Mikoto.

"Well... we can cut the tail off..... only when the Glavenus tail is glowing. When it is not glowing, we can slash it as much as we want to and it won't cut off. And even if we try that plan, it won't be easy to land attacks on its tail since the Glavenus use its tail as its primary attack. I am for one not wanting to try that risking idea." Said Winda before using her sword to block incoming attack from the Glavenus tail.

"Great..... Well, I am going to try cause some damage on its back." Said Mikoto before she jumped on the creature back, carefully landing between one of the spikes on its back and begins to stab as much as she can. The blade is only creating tiny scratches on its back. "Its back is too tough to even stab or make slash marks on it."

"Of course it is. The spikes on its on its back isn't for show. It shows that its back area is really hard to even damage as well." Said Winda before the Glavenus grabbed Winda right leg with its mouth and throw her right next to the knocked out Rathian.

"Winda!" Said Mikoto. Glavenus begins to shake its body really hard. Hard enough to cause Mikoto lose her balance and was knocked off the creature back. The Glavenus then tail slapped her to where Winda is.

Rathy begins to charge at the Glavenus. Rathy release a stream of fire and then did a hard tail slap. The Glavenus blocked the fire attack with its tail and grabbed Rathy tail with its mouth. In a small spin, the Glavenus tossed Rathy where the others are.

"Rathy...." Said Winda as she saw her friend defeated as well. Rathy looks at Winda with a sorry look in its eyes. Rathy feels sorry for not being strong enough to defeat this Glavenus.

"Is this really how we are going to go down? By a powerful Monster that is just too smart, powerful and has a blade tail?" asked Mikoto as she watches the Glavenus slowly approaching to them.

"Yeah... but hey... at least we will go down fighting..." Said Winda as she struggles to hold her weapon up.

"Yeah... you got that right." Said Mikoto as she did the same. Rathy slowly gets back on his feet and gets into a defense stance.

Just before the Glavenus could even get near the humans, the Rathian and Rathy, it stopped. The reason it stopped because it just heard a roar that is sending chills down it spine. It then noticed that the small hole in the ceiling was leaking out some kind of black mist. Seeing this mist has Winda eyes open up in fear. She is not the only one, the Glavenus took a few steps back in fear.

"What is happening?" asked Mikoto.

"I..... I....  don't believe it.....it... can't be..." Said a scared Winda.

"What? What is it Winda? Do you know what is happening?" asked Mikoto.

Before Winda could even respond back to Mikoto question, the cave ceiling broke apart, creating a much larger hole in the cave ceiling. As this happened, a large dust cloud fills the entire large cave room. The Glavenus was turning around in every direction trying to see what is going on.

Just before it could see it, something attacked it from its left side. The force of the attack was so powerful that it forced the Glavenus to be on the ground hard. The Glavenus tries to get back up, only to be pinned by its face. The Glavenus eyes could only make out of in the dust cloud. Some kind of large figure that is pining him down. Just before the Glavenus knows it, the mysterious creature strikes again.

"What is going on?" asked Mikoto as she can hear some kind of slashed and painful roars from within the dust cloud.

"It...... it is here..." Said Winda in a more worried voice.

"What is here!? Winda! Please tell me!" Said Mikoto. Winda didn't respond but simple passed out. Mikoto quickly caught her before Winda fall forward to the ground. "Winda! Hang in there."

Mikoto then heard a scary roar that made her skin had goosebumps. She slowly turned her head to see a large shadowy figure in the dust cloud. She saw the creature spread its wings and fly's into the large hole in the cave ceiling and flies away.

When the dust cloud settle down, Mikoto and Rathy saw a sight that scared her to her core. The Glavenus on the ground cold dead. But that is not what is really scary. The Glavenus had multiple deep slashes on its stomach and back. Its eyes and face...... well, it is too gruesome to explain. Lets just say.... that the Glavenus head is badly damaged. Also its tail blade was smashed into tiny pieces.

"We had a hard time to even land a single cut on this creature.... and yet.... something.... powerful.... easily killed it." Said a scared Mikoto.

Mikoto saw something near the dead Glavenus. She gently place the knocked out Winda right next to Rathy. When she approach the dead Glavenus, she picked up what she saw. A small black scale that is slowly creating a black mist before it stopped doing that.

"What could have caused this? And why did it scare Winda so much?" asked a confused Mikoto as she stares in the large opening in the cave ceiling.

Mikoto, Winda and Rathy travels deeper into cave to find a wounded Rathian trying to rest and recover. From there, they were ambushed by a Glavenus. The Glavenus easily beat the Rathian and the rest. Just it was about to finish them off, something attacked and killed the Glavenus before it could even notice. Who was that creature and why does it frighten Winda so much?
