A couple weeks passed after the chaos ended. Cub and Scar's 'final day' lasted for most of it, the pair reluctant to leave their friends again. Grian had been right about the huge party, which turned out to be a cleaning-up party in the shopping district. But it had gone surprisingly well, reconstruction beginning and a lot of the craters filled in. Ren decided the ruin of the crastle should remain as a monument to everything that had happened, and remained untouched. His royal outfit was replaced with his normal one, and the rest of the arena blown up spectacularly. Rules were laid out for skipping nights and avoiding triggers, a lot of which were now figured out. Mumbo returned for one day, was very concerned, gave Grian a huge hug while he explained everything that had happened, and then left to go cycling again.

Everyone agreed to play the most chaotic game of Total Chaos ever as Cub and Scar's final final day, which all the hermits, empires and bonus guests took part in (though the witches and strays were removed for Impulse and Grian's sake). Chat filled with death messages, Cub won (maybe because the others were intentionally avoiding attacking him), and everyone enjoyed themselves. Then Grian spent at least an hour crying, even though he'd promised to meet the pair regularly in safer worlds.

Then the Empires group had gone. Shelby had promised to supply any information she found on how to reverse the mob affect, while Grian offered to assist Xisuma in finding out how to fix the broken code and figure out how Ren had done it (or who helped him do it). Sausage and Joel had been reunited with Hermes, Oli had invented a song about it all, Martyn was on form with his rubbish puns about what had happened.

A couple days after they'd gone, Skizz and Impulse shared one final goodbye, both in tears.

'You stay safe here, Dippledop. Or I'm coming right back and saving your life again.' Skizz insisted. 'Ok?'

'I will. Don't worry.'

'Good...'

'What's going on here?' Impulse jumped as Tango appeared, turning to see him and Zedaph. Still spooked, he laughed.

'Skizz is just... saying goodbye.'

'You didn't know I was leaving?!'

'Impy, why didn't you tell us?'

'I just... I don't know. Still getting used to you being alright again.'

'Everything went according to plan.' Joked Tango. 'It's all fine now.'

'Yeah... fine.'

'Didn't I tell you you'd make it out alive?' Zedaph remember. Impulse laughed. 'Oh yeah.'

'Always trust your friends, Dippledop. We're here to help you.' Skizz reminded him. 'Now, keep staying safe.'

'I will.' The two hugged. 'I will. Don't worry.'

He stepped again, giving a nod to the reunited Team ZIT before disappearing.

Skizzleman left the game

'Well... I'd better go continue working on my base.' Impulse stepped away.

'Come on, Impy... you don't need to avoid us.' Tango's expression changed to something sadder. 'We're still your friends, even though we have weird powers and sometimes try to kill people.'

'I just... can't forget everything that happened. I'm sorry. I miss Pearl, and I can still die...'

'Tango, if he wants to be alone it's alright.' Zedaph replied. 'We can wait for you to be happy.'

'Thanks.' Impulse smiled. 'You're still my friends. I just... need more time to recover.'

'We understand. Tell us when you're ready... Maybe we could try and fight a raid.'

'No!' Impulse burst out, even though he knew it was a joke. 'I'll see you two around.'

'Bye, Impy!'

He took to the air, not looking out as he flew towards his base... looking for messages in chat as...

He let out a yell as the tree appeared in front of him, crashing stupidly.

ImpulseSV experienced kinetic energy

Sighing at his own stupidity, he respawned, slipping from his bed,

impulseSV: can someone grab my stuff?  It's near xB's base

xBcrafted: on it!

impulseSV: thanks

He grabbed a spare elytra and some fireworks, just as another message came in

Grian: Impulse, can I talk to you?

impulseSV: sure. Where are you?

Grian: at my base

Realising it was probably important, Impulse only grabbed some old armour before flying towards Grian's base.

Grian: I'm in the rock with skulk on it

The extra information was helpful, and he found the location quickly, gliding in through a hole in the top. The only other non-hybrid was there, smiling as he landed.

'What was it?'

'I've... been having nightmares. About everything.' Grian confessed, pacing slightly. 'I thought you of anyone might understand and... I wanted to tell someone.'

'Ok... would it help to explain them?'

'Yeah... yeah...' Impulse searched for some blocks they could sit down on in his inventory, already having forgotten that he had nothing on him. Grian was faster than him, remembering where the thicker pieces of wall were at the back and-

Click.

Grian frowned as he stepped off the pressure plate. The entrance hole sealed shut.

'Grian what was that?' Impulse frowned. 'Grian... oh no... ohh no...' He started pacing, panicking as mobs began to spawn. 'Do you have any torches on you?'

'I don't know!'

Defenceless, Impulse punched at the zombies, but Grian killed them with a bow, eyes wide.

'Thanks... do you have a sword... or decent armour... on you? Can you break us out of here?'

'One thing at a time!' Shot back Grian, slaying a couple of spiders. 'There are so many of them!'

'There are no other spawning spaces outside... because it's daytime... because it can't become night time or all the hybrids will go mad... ow!' Impulse turned on the spot, shooting another couple of skeletons, before a zombie dragged him to the ground. He didn't even have any food on him, and fireworks would do nothing.

'Grian! Help!' He yelled. This was where he was going to die. 'Please...' But he was too busy fighting. 'Food! Now! Please!'

'GIVE ME A SECOND!'

'Grian I don't have a second! Please! I'm... I'm dying.' Another couple mobs down. Grian started placing the torches he'd found on him, trying to find the spawning points. 'FOOD!' Impulse pleaded.

'I don't have any food on me!'

'Why don't you have any food on you?!'

'Because I have 2 braincells and Mumbo has both of them!'

Impulse sobbed, bleeding, trying to find a joke in all of it. The mobs were no longer spawning.

'Hey... Grian...' the two looked at each other. 'Enjoy being the last non-hybrid.'

'I will.' Grian laughed back, stepping over. 'Yeah...' he fell to the ground next to Impulse, and hugged him. He too was crying, staring over at the one place he'd missed in his spawn proofing where a skeleton stood. 'Impulse?'

'Yeah?'

'It wasn't Ren.'

It fired

'It was me.'

ImpulseSV was shot by skeleton

THE END

MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA

MY MASTERPLAN FROM THE START

REMEMBER KIDS, IT CAN ALWAYS GET WORSE

(I'm literally shaking IRL from the adrenaline of finally writing this)

OH, ONE FINAL THING

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE WHEN YOU REREAD DON'T SPOIL THIS FOR OTHER PEOPLE.

I WANT IT TO BE A SURPRISE FOR EVERYONE READING (unless they guess it correctly earlier on, which I'm so glad no one did)

For various reasons you probably won't hear some random interjections from mr again, but I am still slaying - the almighty giants one.
