Ember's POV

I finally understood why Rain and Stella could be so serious sometimes.

War was a terrible thing, and for the first time, I could finally see why.

I should be happy, Irifash was dead.

But I couldn't be. Garroth was killed, Stella ran away and Rain was pissed at me.

And I deserved it.

Moon tried to make me feel better, but it wasn't helping.

I got up and began to sneak outside, careful not to wake anybody up.

Once I got out of the walls of Dreadfort, I hesitated. Now was the best time to run, but something told me to stay.

But I didn't deserve to stay either.

"Please help me," a voice said, and I turned to see a boy with a blue eye and a green eye staring at me, exhausted, he stumbled forward and I caught him.

"Are you okay?" I asked. "What happened to you?"

"I can't remember..." he gasped.

"Do you know your name?" I asked.

"Sure I do," he said. "It's—" then his eyes rolled to the top of his head and he fainted.

I didn't hesitate, I picked him up the best I could and ran back into Dreadfort, yelling, "SOMEBODY HELP!"

I heard the sound of people running, Lady Azura grabbed the young man and ran off to check in his health.

Everybody began to question me, but I shook my head, not wanting to answer, because I really didn't have any answers.

Luckily, Rain came to my rescue and told everybody to stop bombarding me with questions.

"Thank you," I said, and he nodded slightly.

Who was that young man?

If you remember the young man Damian attacked, this man is him.

He also has amnesia.
