As the sun slowly descended, and the camp grew silent, Moon quietly tiptoed out of camp. She didn't even know why she was doing this. Moon shook her head, trying to focus. The thick layer of fog covered every single bit of air. It was hard to see. The night became colder. The snow was damp. Moon could hardly stand the constant freezing water on her paws. Without hesitation, she climbed her way up a very slanted tree. Moon rested there.

A twig cracked. Alarmed, Moon climbed higher into the tree. Paw steps sounded closer and closer, only making Moon crawl higher and higher. The twig cracked again, but it was not the twig. Moon found the branch she had her grip on was breaking. She suddenly realized that if she fell, she would be in great danger. A large, stick pointed upward. It was sharp enough to stab strait through her helpless body. Moon worried the branch would not hold her weight, and would collapse under her, and it did.

The branch fell, bringing Moon with it. Moon opened her mouth in a scream, shutting her eyes closed, waiting for a wave of pain, but she didn't. Confused, Moon opened her eyes. The stick pointed right at her eye. If she had fallen an inch further, the branch would have pierced through her fur. She curiously looked back, eyes wide in relief. Something was holding on her neck.

Moon could see huge pair of scarred jaws, pulling her up. She could feel the warm breath touch her fur. Indeed it was Scar. Something was strange. Why was Scar popping up in different places all of the time? Why did she even see him? Scar pulled her down safely on the snow. Moon quickly sat up and faced the alpha, observing him. She noticed that he had been observing her, too.

But as Moon took a closer look, she could see that he was not Scar. It was Dark. He tilted his head. Moon frowned. Dark had the same scars as the Blood Pack alpha. Why would he look like that? Even more thoughts ran into her mind. She did not notice Dark's angry face. He looked as though he wanted to talk to Moon. "Ahem," Dark scoffed. Moon went straight back to Dark, a bit embarrassed. "Wh-what?" Moon tried to say politely, but the words came out rude.

Dark growled, "You know, Moon, I want to talk to you. Is that okay?" Moon shuffled her paws. She looked all around her, trying to remember every single tree so she could find this place later. Moon then focused on her current situation She nodded reluctantly.

"Star and Nightfall don't love you. They gave most of their time to keep you happy. They made you believe that you were loved. Do you know why? They aren't your real parents. And when you figure out who your real parents are, everyone will hate you. Even Blue. That is going to break you. I will break you," Dark whispered. Moon shrunk into a ball, stunned by fear. Was Moon just imagining things? Was this real? "They-they are my real parents! They took care of me when I was born!" Moon cried.

Dark let out a chuckle. Moon started to feel uneasy. She expected him to attack her at any moment. "I'll go, but wherever you are, I will be watching you. Be careful on who you trust," Dark muttered under his breath. The wolf disappeared into the bushes, leaving Moon by herself. Or was she by herself? Moon pricked her ears. She could hear the voices of two wolves.

"I-I can't! Neither can you. But you need to keep this pup. I'm sorry. Maybe the rest will think that someone else is their father. I cannot are care of her. Now, go before they kill you!" A familiar voice caught Moons attention.

The other wolf slid into the darkness. Moon had guessed that one was the father of the pup, and the other was the mother. But she wasn't sure. Not everything makes sense. Another image flashed into her mind.

"We'll name this one Moon. After all, she was born under a full moon," a white she-wolf muttered. But Moon knew who that wolf was. It was her mother, Star.

"A perfect name!" A dark male wolf yipped happily.

Another vision flashed into her mind.

"Star, you shouldn't be here. I told you to never come back on this territo-" The same dark wolf was cut off by Star

"Blood, I-I need your help! Ark Pack is in danger! Please bring someone to help us!"

Blood? What was Blood doing with Star? Blood hesitated, giving Star a glare.

"No," he growled.

Star lashed her tail.

"You said you would help us no matter what happened! You promised!" Star yelped, "I'll get Scar myself then!"

Star bounded toward the entrance, but Blood stopped dead in front of her.

"No! We won't help you!" Blood yowled in anger. The next instant, the dark wolf pinned Star to the ground, grabbing her paw, then biting as hard as he could, crimson blood dripping from his maw. Star let out a cry, struggling to get free. Blood couldn't stand the screeching, instead, he let go of her. He had never realized what he was slowly turning into. I'm so sorry, Star. Blood thought, running back to the camp.

Moon blinked, seeing the snow rest on her paws. What happened? She sat confused. White flakes drifted slowly to the ground. The bright sun blazed in her eyes. A patrol had came back, prey in each of their jaws. Moon yawned, stretching her back as she lifted herself up to the ground. It was definitely a dream. She thought. It had felt so real though. But, it didn't seem like just a dream. Maybe Star knew something?

"I-I can't! Neither can you. But you need to keep this pup. I'm sorry. Maybe the rest will think that someone else is their father. I cannot are care of her. Now, go before they kill you!"

The words echoed. Moon winced. The words hurt.

"Moon! Glad your awake. It's time to start training," Star padded up to her. She seemed a lot more friendly than last night. Moon ignored her mother for a second. "Er... I have something to tell you first," Moon muttered, the fear held all her confidence back. Star tilted her head, "Is that so? What happened then?"

Moon had explained everything. She explained how Dark had told her that Star and Nightfall were not her parents, and how he was going to break her. She explained how Star had encountered Blood.

Star nodded, fear building up in every word Moon had said. Why was she so afraid? Star looked at her, nodding. "I had a dream last night. I was talking to my father. He said he had accidentally sent a false message to you. It was meant to be sent to Blood, but he had died right when my father had sent out the message. It passed onto a different wolf. That wolf was you. So, really, there's nothing to worry about," Star explained. Moon had guessed she had not made it all up. Her mother sounded confident, like she was actually new what had happened.

But could she believe her mother? Was Star telling the truth? Questions circled in her mind. "A-alright. Can we go training now?" Moon interrupted the silence. Star nodded. "Bring Blue," The alpha ordered.

Moon obeyed, looking for the Blue wolf. She stopped at her tracks when she saw her friend chatting with Dark, Crow, and Shadow. Even though Dark acted like a terrible and blood thirsty wolf in her dream, Moon still trusted him. It was a false message after all.

The two approached Star. "Are you ready?" She asked. Moon nodded, looking at Blue. Blue nodded as well. She hoped that they would not get caught.

"If you want to find out the answers and make it out alive, then you're gonna have to disguise yourself," Her mother told them. "Blue, cover yourself in snow, your fur is noticeable here. Blue obeyed, rolling in the snow. Moon thought for a moment. Blood Pack has a secret, and I'm willing to fight just for it.

Moon shut her eyes. Why was she thinking about fighting? "The will for a fight defines your future! You will become an enemy one day!" Her mother's voice rang into her head. Moon remembered when she had attacked another wolf when she was a pup. What if I become a killer?

Scar popped up in front of here. "You do not kill for the bad! You kill for the good!" He said. What? Scar's back? Was the alpha saying that she was a killer who killed for the bad, and that she should kill for the good? Or was he saying that she killed for the good, and that she didn't kill for the bad?

"Are you coming?" Star growled.

"Sorry," Moon responded, heading for the others.

"You should be," Star gave Moon a disappointed look. Moon quickly and quietly crept into the forest. Snow crunched under her paws. She could see Star and Blue in front of her. A moment later, they had reached the scent of two Blood Pack wolves. Moon made her way to the ledge next to her pack mates. A familiar dark wolf was sitting in front of a shadow. Red eyes gleamed from the figure.

"I told you! Let me free!" The shadow yowled.

"I-I don't want to lose my soul! Creek lost his and now, he turned into-into a terrible wolf! He lost his soul and turned into a complete psychopath!" Nightfall growled.

"Fine! Then I'll find someone else who will."

"No one will let you free."

"Nightfall, you lost your parents to those wolves. You lost your sister and... your brother.  Don't you want them back? Don't you want to get revenge on those...terrible monsters? They show no mercy, and they would kill anyone."

"They-they aren't murders."

"I know what your thinking. You know that those wolves are murderers, and that they show no mercy. They will never spare the cutest pup in their claws. But you are convincing yourself that they are good. But they are actually heartless, ruthless psychopaths."

Nightfall stayed silent.

"They killed everyone. They ruined everything you loved, everything you wanted to happen. They ruined your future. Now's the time to change them and see them feel the pain that you had. You can finally be happy again," The shadow wolf said.

Nightfall stepped forward, still uneasy.

"Am I right, Blood Skull?"

"You are. And I will join you to get revenge. But don't call me that! If you call me that one more time, I'm leaving. And don't even think i'd come back if you did,"

The shadow frowned, anger flooding him.

"If you are truly with me, then let me go," he muttered

"I don't want to turn into Creek. I just want vengeance. I wan't to live a life in peace after."

The shadow wolf narrowed his eyes. He sighed.

"Very well then. If that's what you want. I should go now. I don't want you to get caught. Have this elk so you are ready to attack. I will bring an army to help."

The shadow wolf disappeared into a bush and came out with a massive elk. Nightfall dipped his head down to eat. "Thanks," He smiled. The wolf took many bites before he had finished. "The rest is for you. I know you don't need to eat at this state but it is nice to finally eat food again," Nightfall told the shadow wolf, pushing it with his paws.

"No thanks, I will be going now,"

"Wait! Don't leave me, I still have questions!"

"I won't be answering any questions at the moment. Maybe later."

Nightfall turned away. He was about to hop into the bushes.

Crack!

The twig snapped under Moon's paw. The white she-wolf hopped back in alarm. "Everyone, head back to camp. Now!" Star yowled. Nightfall bared his teeth, but the group had already left. Moon was running behind Star and Blue. Suddenly, the claws of the shadow wolf wrapped around her snout. She struggled, trying to yowl for help, but the words didn't come out. The shadow wolf was struggling as well. It couldn't hold Moon for long. It released its grasp on Moon. The she-wolf hurried back to camp.

Moon burst into camp, letting the fresh scent of prey fill her nose. Panting, she padded to her den. She ignored Dark, who was staring at her. Star came up to the she-wolf as Moon stood in the entrance of her den.

"Moon? Are you okay? What did they do to you? The last thing I saw was you with the shadow," Star said worried.

"I'm fine. That was just... startling. I thought I was going to die," Moon huffed.

"But why was Nightfall with that wolf? Who did he want revenge on?" Blue pushed through the two.

"I know why. Long ago, Stone Pack had attacked us. We lost many lives. Nightfall got angry that he had lost his mate, so he wanted to kill them," Star told them.

"What do you mean Stone Pack? And aren't you Nightfall's mate?" Moon tilted her head.

Her mother stepped back in fear.

"Sorry, I get confused. I meant to say Blood Pack. And I meant Nightfall's sister, not mate,"  Star said. shaking her head.

Moon didn't believe her mother. Why was she like this? Was this true? Moon stayed silent. Blue seemed to have the same thoughts. He was as confused as her. But Moon didn't say a word. She didn't want to make Star uncomfortable.

"Okay then, we should go hunting. We need as much food as possible in this season," Blue spoke up, trying to push away the conversation with Nightfall. Moon liked Blue. She liked that he was always looking after the wolves. She liked that Blue always found a way to cheer other wolves up. Moon nodded. Star gave Blue a warm smile, but Moon could see the unease in her mother's face. She had guessed that Star was afraid of meeting Nightfall again.

"Let's go then, just act like nothing happened," Star added sternly.

The three made their way out of the camp. The other wolves saw them, whispering. Moon shivered. What were they talking about? She really wanted to know, but she had to hunt for the pack.

***

The blinding light pierced her eyes. Moon winced. The sun seemed to be brighter in the winter for some reason. Star would have sent out another wolf to hunt with them, but she didn't. Moon knew that if Star sent out another wolf, he or she might be curious in why they left camp. She might have to reveal what they did. Spying on camps was something bad. It made the wolf god, Light, angry. No one dared to...but the three of them. The pack would kick them out if they were caught. They could exile them, though Star was the alpha.

Moon wandered off onto the snowy grounds of the forest. The group split up, but stayed a little close in case something happens. There was less prey out, so she needed to listen carefully. This season was colder that any other time. At least that's what Moon thought. She pricked her ears. She could hear light steps from somewhere below. The she-wolf raked her claws against the soft snow, curiosity flooding her mind.

At last, she stopped as she dug through a tunnel. Footsteps were lined in the down the path. The she-wolf followed the trail, wondering what had just came across. She turned to the left, and saw a rabbit. Moon quickly pounced on the helpless creature, biting its neck, she killed it. Perfect. She thought, tasting blood in her mouth. This would satisfy her mother.

She left. There was nothin else in that tunnel, nothing. It only led into another part of the forest with very little prey. She needed to find more. Maybe an elk? Could she hunt one alone? Moon sniffed the air and wondered deeper into the forest. There was an elk! Now it's time to test my skill.

She came closer, following the scent. And even closer until she saw one walking ahead of it. It quickened its pace,  seeming to know that Moon had come. I must kill it! She ran toward it, launching herself onto the huge prey. Moon sunk her teeth onto its back, fresh blood entering her mouth. They soothed her taste buds.

The elk kicked her off, and Moon landed onto the snow. But she wouldn't let it go. She jumped again. The elk hopped out of the way. Hunting one was harder than she thought. Moon managed to get her claws on the elk. She wouldn't let it throw her off this time. She bit it again, adding an even bigger mark on its back. Her claws raked across its body, blood gushing from the gash. Finally, it's legs gave up, falling to the ground.

She ended the animal quickly, slicing its neck. Now, she needed to find a way to bring it back home. I didn't think this through. Maybe she could, just very slowly. She slowly dragged it across. After minutes, she was not even a quarter the way there. She wasn't used to this, it just wasn't what she did. She didn't call the others, because the probably hunting, so she continued.

***

At last, she had made it back home. The sun showed bright. She was quite proud, knowing she had made it here faster than she had thought. Star and Blue had returned, with a few hares and birds. They had surprised looks on their faces when they say the elk.

"You managed to kill that on your own?" Blue questioned.

"She good at hunting for her age!" Crow said.

"This is the best you have ever been. Hunting an elk on your own and carrying it back, yet one your own. You deserve a fair break!" Nightfall greeted her.

The wolves were proud. The whole pack was proud of her. They were impressed. Of course, she wasn't the first one. Many others had done it before. Everyone was praised when they hunted an elk by themselves. Moon felt embarrassed. All that cheering made her feel, nervous. Now that they knew what she did, they expected more from her. She knew they wouldn't be as impressed if she did the same again.

"Silence!" Dark hissed, shoving many other wolves.

Star turned to the wolf, narrowing her eyes.

"You shouldn't praise some stupid delta. She is a high rank! We should expect more from her! Hunting an elk is nothing compared to the attack from Blood! She failed to resist that attack horribly!" Dark snarled.

"How dare you say that about my daughter! Your own pack mate!" Star bared her teeth.

"Oh, your going to hurt me? Just because I said that about some little comment about Moon? I'm you beta for god's sake," Dark growled in response.

"Yes, but in a different way. You should be ashamed of yourself," a voice howled.

A silence ran through the crowd. Moon was shocked. What would they think of her? Would they hate her for the rest of her life?

"Dark," Nightfall finally spoke.

Dark stayed still, his paws were glued to the ground.

"Go hunt," he muttered, "Now. Bring back three elks. I want to see if a true beta can do it."

The wolf snorted. "You think I can't do that? You thought you can make me embarrassed? I'll go do it! It's easy!"

"Very well,"

Dark headed out of camp, his paws crunched in the snow. Did he really just do that for her? Did he punish Dark just to make him feel bad? "I will follow him!" Her father said, heading out of camp. But he headed a slightly different direction. Moon felt uneasy. Was he going to talk to the shadow wolf again? Was he going to plan out his vengeance?

Moon headed out of camp, ignoring the other's yowls. Star didn't want her to go, but she knew that Moon wanted to find more answers. This is a bad idea! Moon thought, stopping at her tracks as she stopped dead in front of Nightfall.
