Betty found herself tongue-tied when she opened the Amazon package. The ladies of the crafting club noted Betty's odd expression and peered curiously into the box containing a guide book and basic materials. Their reactions varied wildly. Melinda giggled and nearly spit out the latte she was sipping. Barbara looked disgusted, horrified even. A sly smile spread across Karen's face and Samantha didn't seem to get it.

"These are fairly heavy for a crafting project," Samantha said, lifting some of the supplies out of the box.

Barbara shoved Samantha's hand back into the box, looking left and right to see if anyone had noticed. She glared at Betty. Barbara ran the crafting club and the Facebook page associated with it. They met every Sunday afternoon at a coffee shop with large tables that wasn't terribly busy. They had started out learning crochet together, created some small quilts for the newborn nursery at the local hospital, knitted socks for a Christmas fair, and recently created macrame plant hangers like the ones popular in the 1970's.

"It looks like we will need more room for this one," said Karen, her eyes twinkling with mirth. "We can go to my house." This sent Melinda into a fit of hysterical laughter. People looked over at their table and Melinda struggled to regain composure.

"Absolutely not," scolded Barbara, a distasteful frown on her face. "My crafting club has standards."

"S-s-sorry," stammard Betty, her cheeks red with embarrassment.

"These must be large projects," said Samantha, fingering the colorful rope that she had unwrapped. "Maybe Karen is right. This table might not be big enough."

"What on earth made you think we wanted to learn this Betty?" asked Barbara.

"I-I just bought it yesterday on Amazon. D-didn't have time to go to Hobby Lobby during the week, b-because we had a deadline at work." Her eyes pleaded with Barbara for forgiveness. She loved the crafting club. A woman named Marge had gotten kicked out for cross stitching lewd pot holders last year. "I paid extra for next day delivery," Betty continued. "Amazon said customers who enjoyed Macrame for Beginners enjoyed this book and we enjoyed macrame, but I didn't read about it in detail..." She trailed off and looked down at the table in shame.

"Well I loved macrame and I think I'll love this even more!" said Karen smiling broadly. "Are you in Melinda?"

Melinda nodded 'yes,' still giggling.

Karen put on her coat and picked up the box. "Come on Samantha. Let's get out of here. We'll go work our way through Shibari for Beginners. Ever been tied up before?"
