Sonnet 20: The Poet
(Inspiration 9)
Thy love is like a sprout that stands alone,
A treasure to be sought within the storm
And sought because the seeds of spring are sown
In thee, the object of this great reform.
The greatest quest of long-forgotten ages,
The search for truth and love, doth make it so,
Since truth and love are trapped inside their cages
Until a revelation makes them grow.
And grow they shall, beginning with thy sprout,
Into a blooming sweet I hope to see
That never wears thy blooming treasure out,
Believing what I pray one day to be.
I see that sprout of love and doubt it not,
Nor give those doubting skeptics care or thought.
