Sonnet 44: Interlude 1
(Crown of Sonnets 2)

Before he takes her soul with cunning lies,
He holds her gazes, courting just her face;
Then, once he hath control, he takes the prize
And centers on her eyes his subtle grace,
Until she cannot help but be astounded
At such an act so expertly pulled off;
With his advances yet to be confounded,
Herein he risks it all without a scoff.
This prince of vows imparts through heavy sighs
His sorry journey through a life misspent;
He spins his tale; the hapless damsel cries,
Imprisoned to his sorrows' gentle vent.
      And so her first suspicions he disarms,
      Becoming master-tamer of her charms.

(To be continued...)

A/N: Okay, here's the 2nd sonnet in this Crown of Sonnets... 5 more to go... ( ^_^ )
