Summary- Extremely shy Lars (Ryan Gosling) finds it impossible to make friends or socialize. His brother (Paul Schneider) and sister-in-law (Emily Mortimer) worry about him, so when he announces that he has a girlfriend he met on the Internet, they are overjoyed. But Lars' new lady is a life-size plastic woman. On the advice of a doctor (Patricia Clarkson), his family and the rest of the community go along with his delusion.

This was so much better than I was expecting it to be. Ryan Gosling was fantastic! I definitely want to watch more of his movies now.

I did get a little bit of secondhand embarrassment from this at first, but I really started to feel for Lars and his desire for some human connection despite how difficult it is for him.

I got really emotional and was crying by the end of it. This rollercoaster ride of a film. I did not expect it from a movie about a guy and his sex doll. (Don't worry, there's no sex featured in the film).

It was so touching to see how the entire community came together to support Lars, even if his situation is unconventional.
