One day, after a troubling dream on the night of his birthday, thirteen year old Maverick Anderson has been excited for finally reaching the day he'd get a Pokémon. After meeting up with Alex and his sister, Rika, the three headed off to the edge of town where a kind man by the name of Professor Rowan was having the distribution event. It was an event where all upcoming Pokémon trainers will receive their starter. Alex has chosen the water type Piplup, while Rika has chosen the fire type Chimchar. After hearing what the grass type starter has been through, Maverick vowed to Turtwig that they'd grow stronger together to reach new heights. With such a declaration under his belt, Maverick chose Turtwig.

With the three finally having their starters, it's time for them to finally start their adventure. But first...

"The Sinnoh league finals!" Alex and Maverick yelled out in joy. Piplup and Turtwig looked at each other in confusion. It was around four in the afternoon in the Sinnoh region. It's been a while since they've been given their trainers at the bi-annual Pokémon distribution event. They were inside the Anderson household in the living room, with the television tuned into Pokémon Battle News Network where they will hold the last two rounds of the Sinnoh league, the semi-finals and the finals.

What got Alex and Maverick so hyped about this next battle was the competitors. Ash Ketchum was apparently going to be facing off against the troublesome Tobias, who reportedly single handedly took down the league with just his Darkrai.

"It's almost time, I wonder if Ash will win this. It's the farthest he's ever been in a league so far! Tobias though, I feel like he's up to something. Just using Darkrai only? A legendary or mythical Pokémon at that?" Maverick gazed, interested at the current events. The father, John, agreed.

"Yeah.... normally mythicals or some types of Pokémon of high stature wouldn't be allowed to compete. Something is fishy for sure."

"The league officials, wouldn't they do something about that then?" Alex asked. "If it wasn't allowed, why are they just now allowing it? Surely the league officials would've taken notice, even Cynthia for that matter..."

"That is strange. But with Charles Goodshow literally just sitting up there and now doing nothing about it has me thinking that it's okay now." Rika commented. The camera was panning all around the stadium, showing the audience and the executives from the bleachers and the battle field.

They all decided to leave off the thoughts about Tobias at the current moment of time. That's when the camera made an overhead cast, signifying the match to start......
