Chapter4-Lip reading

I give him the journal and he reads the first two journal entery's I already read. "Wow so your mother kept you a seceret for a reason" Barry says. I nod and reply "I don't get the part about the nymph". I glance out the window and say dazed "its gonna storm soon". He notices my dazed look.

I open the fridge and grab a can of coca-cola. I click the can open and walk upstairs. I hear Max say in a dazed voice "its gonna storm soon". She kinda sounded lost in thought but who am I to talk. I knock on the side of the doorway and Barry and Max look at me. "Hey so I was thinking you guys want to go out for ice cream" I ask. Barry shrugs and says "sure let me grab my wallet". Max didn't answer she was looking out the window again.

"Nice view? Or are you just staring out the window for no reason" I say. She sighs but doesn't answer. I walk over to her and try to look at what she was looking. She was looking at the dark clouds like she was looking at a childhood picture. I sit next to her on the bright pink bed that I can tell she dislikes alot. I sigh and lay my hand on Max's sholder.

I look over at Wally but then I look back at the dark storm clouds. "You want ice cream" Wally asks. I sigh but finally nod. I stand up off my bed and follow him down the stairs. Barry was already waiting for us and since it is a nice day we decided to walk, also the ice cream place in the mall wasn't that far from there house. 

"So Maxine whats your favorite ice cream flavor" Barry asks. I shrug and and say casualy "cookie daugh".  We go into the mall, where the food court is. We just order our ice cream when an explosion goes off two shops down. "Stay here Max" Barry wispers and runs away with Wally. 

I sigh and walk into the bath room. Then I focus on a steady rythm of of a rainforest and my powers turn me into a gothic fairy. I run out of the bathroom and go towards the explosion. I could tell that the two speedsters were shocked I didn't listen to them, but I ignored them. I ducked from a punch that came from a villan named Mister Freeze. I try to  punch him but he jumps out of the way. 

Finally the two heros brake out of their shock to come help me fight the villan. I then decied its best that I use my powers, but I seriously don't now how to use them. I guess fighting without powers will have to do.

"Flash you got a girl to do your dirty work" Mister Freeze jokes cruely. "She isn't doing our dirty work" Wally who is now Kid Flash says. Mister Freeze shoots his ice gun towards me, luckly my black fairywings flew me away from the ice. "Not gonna happen" I taunt as I grab a knife off one of the tables and throw it at him. It hits the glass of Mister Freezes mask and the glass cracks. The frosty villan slams me into the wall, hard and I go unconsions.

Mister Freeze body slams Max in the wall and my blood started boiling. Is she dead? I can't really tell because her body has no movement but I can she her uneven breaths. I lunge towards the cold hearted crimanal and starys to beat the crap out of him. Finally Barry pulls my off the now bloody body. "Don't kill him, the cops will want him" Barry says.

The cops come and we take Max in her magical form back to the house as fast as we could. "Max wake up please" I shout tears streaming down my face. Barry is trying to covor up the huge gash on her forehead.

"Wally she is in a comma, she most likely can't hear you" Barry says.He wipes the blood thats streaming out of her ear with a cloth. About three days finally past, she would've looked dead if it wasn't for the uneven breaths she let out. Her breathing is starting to become more even now promising that she will wake up from the comma soon. Then Max opens her eyes and stares up at me.

"Oh my god Maxine your up. I thought you were dead" I say really fast. "Huh? Wal...Wally slow down" she says her voice had a touch of confusion in it. I slowly say "I'm happy your alive". She replys after a few minutes "Wh..Why wouldn't I, I can't leave that easily". Somthing seemed off and it was taking her a few minutes to speak, also her lip is trembling.

"Whats wrong, your acting weird" I say. She says "n..No, nothings wrong". I gasp and say "are you reading my lips? Oh my god you can't hear me, can you!!?". She looks at me for a whole fifty seconds and says "y..yes beacause I can't hear you or anything else". I noticed her clothes changed back once we got back to the house three days ago. If she can't hear then she can't use her powers.

I look at Wally watching his lips move trying to figure out if he is talking to me or his lips are trembling because of this discovory. "I..I, wait no we can't tell anyone about this" I say trying to think if I'm saying it right, because I can't hear my words I say. Wally quickly says "but Barry could ask one of the leaugers to help you". I shake my head and say "n..no they got more bigger problems then helping a pathetic girl who lost her hearing".

Wally looks at me shocked and says "spoken like a true hero". I roll my eyes and he says somthing to fast for me to understand, let alone read from his lips. "Re.. Repeat what you said and say it slower this time" I say. Wally repeats "I said Barry should know". I look down and say "fine go tell him".

He walks away and I pick up the electric guitar. I don't need hearing to tell what I'm playing. I can feel the rythmatic vibrations as I strum the guitar. I start to play Pens and Knives by Black Veil Brides.  I serilusly love BVB (it means black veil brides if you didn't know).
