(This is a short time skip story, four years after Hoshiko and Kenji had Kazuhide. Hoshiko, Hitomi, and Kazuhide were at home on a winter day, waiting for Kenji to come home.)

Hoshiko was sitting in her chair, fixing up Hitomi's hair. Hitomi asks, "How long is Daddy taking at the winter meeting?" "He should be home any minute now Hitomi," says Hoshiko. Kazuhide comes, saying, "Mama, I'm cold and thirsty. I want some hot chocolate with gooey marshmallows." "Me too Mommy!" Hitomi says.

After pulling Hitomi's hair up, and putting her headband on, Hoshiko says, "Okay, you two. Let's keep some warm for your father, because he'll probably want some." "Are you guys planning on having hot chocolate without me again?" Kenji asks, standing in the doorway.

"Dad!" Hitomi and Kazuhide exclaim, running towards their father to hugs him. Hoshiko says, "Just in time Kenji. We were about to start making it." "Let's go play in the snow Mama!" Kazuhide says. Hitomi says, "Yah Mommy! I wanna play with Daddy as well!" "Let's put your winter gear on," Hoshiko says, dressing her darling little angels up in their winter clothes.

They went to play in the snow. Hoshiko helped Hitomi build a snowman. Putting a hat on the snowman, Hitomi says, "Thanks for helping me Mommy." "No problem Hitomi," Hoshiko says. Kazuhide throws a snowball at his mother and older sister. Kenji says, "Come on. Unless you're scared." "We're not scared Daddy!" Hitomi exclaims.

Hoshiko yells, "Snowball war!" Soon, Kenji and Kazuhide joined forces to win against Hoshiko and Hitomi. Of course, the boys won. They went inside afterwards. Hitomi says, "You guys cheated!" Putting his daughter on his lap, Kenji says, "Calm down Little Tyke. Your brother and I were just prepared."

Giving them each mugs, Hoshiko says, "Be careful. The hot chocolate is piping hot." The children said, "Yummy!" Hoshiko puts marshmallows into each of their cups. Kazuhide gets into her lap, drinking his hot chocolate.

"Mama, you make the best hot chocolate ever," Kazuhide says. Hoshiko kisses her son, saying, "I sure do Kazuhide. And Mama gives out the best kisses ever." Kazuhide says, "Mama. Stop it." "Get use to it, son," says Kenji, "because all mothers are like that." "So are all daughters Daddy!" Hitomi says, kissing her father's cheek.

Kenji says, "Okay Hitomi. Daughters too." "I enjoy spending winter with you guys, Mama, Papa, Onee-san," Kazuhide says, with a chocolate mustache on his upper lip. Hoshiko wipes his lip, joking as she says, "You're much too young for a mustache son."

"Mama!" Kazuhide says, laughing. Hoshiko, Kenji, and Hitomi laugh too. The family enjoys their hot chocolate. It was now night time, and Hoshiko, Kenji, and the kids have a camp out up front.

Hitomi and Kazuhide were peacefully sleeping in between their parents. Hoshiko, with Kazuhide next to her, whispers to her husband, "I'm having a great time with you and the children Kenji." "Same to you Little Star," says Kenji, with Hitomi settled on his chest.

Hoshiko gently kisses his lips, and says, "Good night Kenji." She kisses Hitomi and Kazuhide's foreheads, and falls asleep. Kenji smiles, and kisses his wife and kids' foreheads, saying, "Good night to you too, Hoshiko. Same to you two," and looks at his sleeping children. Kenji falls asleep himself, holding onto Hoshiko's hand.
