-How they metttttt:

-Evan and Jared had always been close as little kids.

-Their Moms got together all the time to play at the park, or go on play dates, or to the movies, or to the grocery store-pretty much anything.

-Evan always used to think Jared was the coolest person alive. He knew big sciencecy words ((which he picked up from his Momma Charlotte and Peter but had no idea what half of them meant)), he could tell actually funny jokes, he had lotes of friends, etc.

-Evan was actually pretty smart as a little kid, being some of the first of his class to start reading. But that didn't get him any friends.

-Inside Jared loved Evan, he was smart, kind and even kinda funny.

-And handsome but he'd never admit that to anyone. EVER.

-But outside he was a prick sometimes.

-He had really low self esteem growing up cause his grades were never the highest or he was never the fittest in class. Evan seemed to have it all together so Jared would constantly bring him down or outright spend days ignoring him.

-At the time it made him feel better but he almost immediately regretted it.

-Evan still stuck by Jared, he decided one sorta mean friend was better than no friends at all.

-Then in high school Evan starts becoming 'sorta friends??' with Connor, Alana, and Zoe.

-Jared joins and soon they're all one big friend group.

-Anyways Jared realizes he has a crush on Evan with the help of Connor.

-He's just complaining about something stupid and Connor outright asks him if he loves him.

-Jared denies this but later that night he can't stop thinking about Evan.

-Jared is suddenly very confused and startled and starts avoiding Evan.

-Mostly because whenever he's around him Jared turns into a blushing mess.

-Evan is just confused and kinda hurt that his family friend seems to be avoiding him so much.

-He slowly starts realizing how much he misses things like Jared's big smile, his cute laugh or his beautiful eyes. Or how soft and warm Jared's hands were when they brushed against each other's when they walked.

-And how maybe he wanted their hands to be more than barely touching.

-Then one weekend Heidi, Dr. Charlotte and Cordelia plan a surprise picnic at the park.

-The entire picnic is just really awkward for the both of them.

-When Evan asks why Jared's been so weird Jared confesses how he's always had a crush on Evan.

-Evan starts to tear up because he's not sure if Jared's playing a prank on him.

-Jared gives him a huge hug and tries his hardest to convince Evan that what he's saying is genuine.

-And then Evan confessed that he really liked Jared too but he was just afraid that Jared didn't feel the same way.

-Jared is so happy he kisses Evan on the spot.

-They start dating soon after.

-Assorted Headcannons:

-The first people they tell about this is Heidi, Jared's Mom's, Connor and Zoe.

-Heidi is ecstatic that her son found love and supports them 11/10.

-Zoe is very happy for Evan and she even gives Jared the whole 'if you break his heart I break you' talk.

-Connor is just like "I fucking called it!"

-But Alana is the last to find out.

-And for the longest time Evan and Jared are just like 'we're family friends'. They use that excuse even when Alana finds a picture of them kissing on Instagram.

-Eventually she just asks Zoe if they're dating and Zoe just smirks and says 'obviously'.

-Jared will ramble for hours and hours and Evan will just hang on to every word and fall deeper and deeper in love.

-They go for morning walks in the park every Saturday. Jared usually votes to stay in bed longer but he goes to spend more quality time with his boyfriend.

-Jared sings to Evan during/before/after a panic attack to calm him down, usually 'You are my Sunshine' but it can vary.

-When they go out to eat Jared usually orders for both of them.

-Jared tells Evan bad puns to cheer him up.

-Any night can be a cuddle night as long as they're both up for it.

-They have picnics all the time.

-Evan is taller than Jared by like a head.

-Jared always declares himself as big spoon and Evan doesn't usually put up a fight.

-For the promposal Jared drives them both to McDonald's.

-"Jared why are we here?"

-"Evan, I know it's usually fries before guys, but I say fuck it. Let's have both."

-And he orders seven large extra large fries.

-"Soooo-prom?"

-Evan bursts out laughing and says yes.

-They split the bill on the fries and eat them together.

-They both agree on wearing tuxes but on the day of prom Jared's pants rip.

-So he goes to prom in baby blue boxers.

-Evan is embarrassed and blushes all night long.

-But they have a great time.
