Morning happens and
The clock starts tick tick tick
Till night falls sudden
Like dousing a candle wick

The sun rises and
Shines through the window
Then the night turns inky
And the moon begins to glow

Days pass slow
Months pass fast
Diaries get filled till
We've reached the page last

But most often we're stuck
In this ebb and flow of time
Going over and over
Like a repeated clock chime

Do something different today
Pick up that new game
Hum a tune, sing write, laugh
Every day needn't be the same

The world is around you
Just out of your finger's reach
Extend your mind beyond
And these years have a lot to teach

So today take a pledge
To not get caught up with the flow
