Away away
Far away
Off you go
On your way
Walk walk
Night or day
Chase your dreams
In your own way

But somedays on that path
You'd find yourself all alone
Without people to listen
Would you talk to trees and stone?

Talk to the trees
Hop on the stones
Tell them I'm more
Than just flesh and bones

Nature actually listens
Someday the winds speak too
The darkness will sing a lullaby
Whispering soothing words to you

But be careful of what you say
Because the darkness always hears
The friend you found in nature
May make a nightmare of your fears

A howl here
A bark there
A sudden shadow
Raises your hair

A rustle of leaves
Quick feet on grass
The red crescent moon rises🌙
Like a sickle made of brass

It watches you sleep
Stars by its side
Little gust of wind
And under the blanket you hide

You wear the blanket
Upto your neck in the cold
And listen to the midnight gong
Of faraway bells so old

They remind you of a song
You heard last week
Trying to find it again
Your mobile phone you seek

But you left the phone at home
To enjoy nature at peace
Technology is a distraction somedays
On others it's an ease

So you give up the search
And start humming the tune
The crickets start chirping
Like little musicians on the grass strewn

Ants start to dance
Spiders play their web
Slowly the jungle rises
To do a perfect dab

And you join in with
A bow of your own style
The moon smiles down at you
The stars wink awhile

They form a tight circle
Drag you on to dance
All the while you deny
"No, no, not a chance"

But they're not to easy to throw off,
They push you onto the stage so
The fireflies form your lime lights
The other creatures line up in a row

And then the moment comes
When 'you' finally sway
And just like that, the night ends
With the sun's first ray

But then the birds come twittering
Demanding another round
Your eyes are drooping with sleep
But they keep making sound

With half open eyes
You extend your hand
And turn off the alarm
With your magic wand

And you stare at the drawn curtains
At the light of another ordinary day
"It was a good dream," you sigh
At least I dared to go my way 😋

A/N This is the 100th Poem in a journey that started towards the ending of the 2019 and carried through to see the ending of 2020...in the midst of this journey I started out writing alone just like everyone does. Thanks to Chinmay, I soon realised that there can be other ways to make a poem than just sit with your loneliness. What started as a four liner to and fro conversations actually led us to write 11 poems together in rhymes. This is the 12th...For him it wasn't new but for me it was. The entire thing seemed innovative and spontaneous and fun...  These were a really magical part of my writing journey so far and I hope to have more of them 😊
