This is the third anime I ever watched. (the second one was fairy tale and although it had a good storyline, it got quite repetitive and I got bored so I'm not going to make a chapter recommending it, but go watch it if you want).

Death Parade is easily one of my favourite animes of all time (and I've seen a lot). The way the story is presented is just amazing, yes it's gory, but it's very emotive and it's very much a jigsaw puzzle kind of anime, one where each episode brings a new piece and by the end you complete the puzzle and everything makes sense. (A little bit like DeathNote)

It's absolutely perfect for beginners and regulars alike, with it's dark but emotional storyline and twisted yet relatable characters, it's just amazing!!

Storyline - mild spoiler for the first episode.

When two people die at the same time, they awake in a place where they have no idea where they are, how they got there, or why they are there. They do not know that they are dead. They are taken into a room where they are greeted by the butler and host, Decim.

With no way to escape, they are forced to play a horrific game. For example, in the first episode a husband and wife were in a car crash and they both died. They then arrive in the world and are forced to play a game of darts. But instead of colours and, the dartboard is shown as different organs and body parts. When they throw a dart and hit a part of the board, whatever image they hit causes excruciating pain at that part of the other's body. However the point system stays the same, but the higher the points, the worse pain in the worst part of the body. (The triple twenty is the heart)

They are told that whoever scores the most points will be free, and whoever loses will die. So they have to cause pain to the other to save themself.

It's an amazing storyline and I cried at most episodes, but there is also some humour and mystery solving and it's just perfect. Definitely go watch it, it's defo in my top 3!!
