So I entered thegreatamericanbooks 100 follower celebration competition and here's my entry:

I'm not quite sure Maple could be my Fursona because my OC Ceaderstripe is more like me, Ceaderstripe is basically part of me. But I think Maple deserves part of me to. Maple is more an OC than a Fursona. But she and I share a few things.

Maples back story:

Maple was born to parents Fawn and Shsde with two siblings; Dapple and Bark. They are a family of wild cats, like loners, but in a small group.
Maple hurt her back right leg when she was young, about 8 moons, falling off of a tall rock while playing a game her and her litter mates call 'Leader of the rock' where they have to race to the top of the rock and whoever gets there first is leader of the day. They play four rounds a day to make sure that its fair who wins.
The day Maple fell from the rock they were on the first round. Maple was still a bit drowsy from just waking up when they began, causing her to not be quite stable enough and loose her footing.
Maple fell and injured her leg, making it hard for her ever to use it the same again and not allowing her to participate playing leader of the rock any longer.
Maple learns how to get around using that leg as little as possible, making her limp.
Maples parents tell her and her siblings tales of dangerous cats living in the dark parts of the forest, telling them they should never venture into those parts.
When Maple is older, about 12 moons, she meets a cat named Hare, a tan tabby tom about her age. She and Hare quickly become friends.
Maple sneaks away from her families hollow to spend time with Hare.
She and Hare become very close, Maple having a crush on him and her thinking he likes her too.
Maple and Hare secretly become mates and she tells everything to him, he tells almost everything to her.
Whenever she asks Hare where he lives he always avoids the question, saying he wants to hear more about her, less about him.
Maple finds this odd but never puts much thought into it until one day moons later Hare begins leading her towards a part of the forest she'd never been before. The darkest, most dangerous part.
Maple continuously suggests that they turn around, that they shouldn't be here but Hare keeps going.
Maple knows she can't leave him here alone so she goes with him.
Suddenly Hare stops. They reached a muddy clearing full of dead leaves and rotten prey.
"This is where we live," says Hare.
Maple asks who he means and he says nothing.
Suddenly several cats begin flooding into the area, all mud streaked and dark pelted.
Maple begins to back up but Hare blocks her path, telling her she must stay for the initiation.
The biggest of all the cats comes to Maple and grabs her front right paw. He scratches deep into the pad an X.
Her paw hurts and she crys out to Hare, who now stands in the mud with the other cats.
The cat that had scratched her paw dips it into the mud and tells her that only he can heal it now and that she must stay if she wants to live.
Maple looks to Hare and tells him that she trusted him, and that she can never trust him again.
Hare seems ok with this and let's the large cat continue.
The cat runs his paw along Maples stomach.
"Hare has done well, bringing new kits to our group," the cat says.
Maple gasps and begins to weep, if she really were expecting kits she didn't want them to grow up here with these terrible cats.
The cats lead Maple to a small den and leave a guard with her at all times.
This goes on for three days, always a guard there except when the gaurd is fetching the next guard.
Maple creates a plan, when the guard goes to fetch the next guard she will escape.
When the current guard finally steps away Maple begins to run. She goes as fast as she can with her bad leg and scratched paw. This is not very fast.
She keeps running until she is out of the dark part of the forest and getting close to her home. Only Hare and one other cat following her.
Maple reaches her families camp to see that her family is gone. There is a pool of blood and a trail of it leading to a fresh mound of dirt and Maple knows what lies under it; her family.
Maple keeps running until only Hare remains behind her. She notices that he has a limp too, his front right paw not working as well as the others.
Maple knows he must have the scratch and she plans to use this knowledge against him. She begins climbing a tree, her scratch, which is now scabed over bursts open.
She has a hard time climbing with barely even three legs, as Hare starts to climb too.
Maple let's go of the tree, falling right into Hare and making them both fall to the ground.
Maple attacks Hares paw before he knows what's happening and then his eyes.
After she slashes his eyes she begins to run, stumbling through the forest.
She knows of a family of cats living nearby that will take her in.
Maple reaches the family, finding her brother Bark and her Mother Fawn there too.
Maple goes to the cat that is known as good with herbs and healing and asks if she really is expecting kits. She is.
A few moons later she gives birth to two she-kits, one with various orange and brown patches and the other a dark brown tabby.
She names them Dapple and Shade, in honor of her sister and her father.

Currently she lives with the group of cats and her two remaining family members, always fearing that she may run into one of the cats from the dark part of the forest, especially afraid that Hare may come for the kits.

That may be a little over the 300 word minimum. Lol. I hope you enjoyed that. And yes, I am now considering making a book about her. It would probably be more of a few chapter long story based on this back story.
