Her bangs fluttered when the wind hit her face as she raced in the highest speed her legs could work in. Maintaining balance, she cycled her way through the almost empty road. She watched as milestones passed by, sign boards passed by, hills passed by. For a second she was so lost in the pleasant cool breeze, she had forgotten the sole single other soul behind her. Upon hearing the sound of his cycle bell, she returned to reality, shrieked with laughter and increased her speed. She looked back for a second and saw that he had by now caught up to her.

But the race wasn't over yet. As they saw the distance to the Platform decrease, using whatever stamina they had left, they sped towards it. She was short and cute, full of energy. He was tall and thin. Her energy compensated for his long legs and both of them reached almost at the same time.

But the race wasn't over yet. They abandoned their bicycles, letting it fall to the ground, and ran atop the steps to reach the top. Here however, his legs were an advantage to him as he sped past her. All she could do was watch. The newly crowned winner jumped up and down in joy and she shook her head in disapproval.

While he sat on a stone bench atop the Platform and wrote in his notepad, she moved her body to the music that blasted in her ears. Her hair danced in the wind as she gazed at the waves form in the ocean. He watched her for a minute before he stood up and walked to her, leaving the pen and notepad behind. Standing beside her, he too stood at the edge of the Platform that looked upon the ocean.

And then, he turned to her. She turned to him. He pulled off the headphones from her ears and placed them beside his feet. She held his hand and they stood still watching the ocean in silence. As a drop of tear escaped her eye, she felt him lift their intertwined hands and wipe it off with his thumb. With glistening eyes she turned to him and wasn't surprised to be received with the same from him. Suddenly he moved forward and kissed her forehead, hugging her tight. Not caring whether his t-shirt got wet or not, she hugged him even tighter. As they broke the hug and moved away, they felt a strange braveness within them. And they knew, it was time...
