A/N: Hey guys! This is my third Dramione short story. As I said that I will publish it today, so here it is. Spoiler alert (not really, but yeah): So, there's one song mentioned in this story. Just take a guess- its name has four words, and the last word is girl, the second and third word start with the same letter. And, it's my favorite singer's song. If you guessed, then yay! If you didn't, then also it's okay. Also, Hermione and Draco are already living together in the Wizarding World. On with the story!

"Draco, wake up. Your mother is here."

He immediately woke up at this. Yawning, he asked her, "Where is she?"

"At the Manor." She answered, sitting next to him on his bed.

It took him a few moments to realize what she meant, but when he did, he scowled at her, "You said that to just wake me up, didn't you?"

She smirked at him. "Glad to know you finally understood. You weren't waking up when I simply said your name, so I decided to say that."

"And, I still wonder why aren't you in Slytherin." He said.

"Just because." She answered.

She pulled his cheeks, and added, "You do remember what happened the last time you forgot that she was coming?"

"How can I not forget it? She saw me sleeping on the bed, so in order to wake me up, she levitated me, went outside, and positioned me in the air above our pool and then released me from the charm." He scoffed.

"I still remember you shrieking when you landed in the pool." Hermione chuckled at him.

"It was during the winter season, mind you. The water was freezing!" He said.

"You should be thankful that she made a bubble on the floor of the pool, so you wouldn't go that deep. You basically just landed on top of it inside the pool, and kept bouncing on the huge bubble." And with that, she started laughing.

He glared at her, but then a second later, he allowed a small smile to make its way to his face. "It was a bit extra. I still can't believe how you just stood there, and did nothing to save me." He told her.

"Oh, come on. You totally deserved it. And, I didn't even get a chance to record it. You know what, one of these days, I am going to use the pensieve in McGonagall's office, take my camera with me, and use it to make a recording of that using my memories. Remind me to do that." She told him.

"Bold of you to assume that I will remind you." He rolled his eyes.

She smacked him on his arm, and said, "Get up, now. I'll make the breakfast." And, with that, she left the room.

He shook his head, and laid back on the bed. Just as he was about to close his eyes, he heard her shout, "IF YOU GO BACK TO SLEEP, I WILL REALLY CALL NARCISSA!"

Sighing, he got up from the bed. "She literally threatened to set my own mother on me." He muttered.

------------

"What are you making?"

He saw her standing in the kitchen. Taking a green apple from the basket, he stood next to her.

"Your favorite pancakes. And, some treacle tart." She informed him.

"Why? Is there anything special today?" He asking, taking a bite from the apple.

She stopped what she was doing, and turned to him. "Really, Draco? You forgot?" She crossed her arms in front of her.

It was then that she noticed he wasn't wearing any shirt, he was just wearing a pair of muggle jeans that she had bought for him.

He noticed her staring at him. "Really, Hermione? After all this time? Let me just say this, still liking what you see?" He smirked at her.

She shook her head, and went back to making the batter for pancakes. Draco chuckled, and placed his apple on the counter.

He stood behind her, and wrapped his arms around her. Kissing her cheek, he said, "I was just teasing you. How can I forget? Today's our first dating anniversary."

He turned her around, and placed his hands on her waist. "Happy anniversary, love." He said, and kissed her on her forehead.

"Happy anniversary to you too, Draco." She smiled at him.

He kissed her as she wrapped her arms around his neck. She pulled away after a few moments, and gave him a quick kiss before removing her arms from around his neck.

"Go and get dressed, we need to go to work soon." She told him, returning back to making their breakfast.

He dramatically sighed, and picked up the apple again. "I hate that we have to go to work on our anniversary, that's just not fair." He said.

"Stop complaining, Draco. And, besides, I already asked for permission from Kingsley for a half day, and he didn't have any problem with that. And, you can leave whenever you want, after all you're the boss of Malfoy Industries." She told him.

After finishing the apple, he waited for her to finish making their pancakes. As soon as she was done with that, Hermione was about to start making the treacle tarts, but before she could do so, he interrupted her.

"What happened?" He asked her, his hands on her upper arms.

"Nothing. Let me just make the tarts." She said, her eyes downcast.

He placed his hand on her cheek, making her look at him. "I know you want to say something, Hermione. You have got that look on your face, your eyebrows are furrowed and you're biting your lip. So, tell me what you want to say." He told her.

"It's just that, I feel like we haven't been spending much time together recently. We both are busy with our works, and..." She trailed off.

"And? Hermione, I won't mind. Just say whatever's on your mind." He said.

"And whenever we plan something, we get some urgent call, and then we have to go back to work, and most of the times, you get some urgent call whenever I plan something for us, be it a movie date or a simple hangout. We will be talking about something important, and then suddenly you will get a call, and you will go back to your office. You aren't even free to at least have lunch with me anymore. I booked tickets for at the amusement park last week because we haven't been able to hang out for a long time. I was getting ready, and then you called me to tell me that your friends invited you to play Quidditch, and you're going because you haven't met them for a long time, and that we will go some other time. You know how many times I have fallen asleep on the couch because I was waiting for you to come back home from work? I sometimes feel like I am not important to you anymore." Hermione ranted.

After she finished, she saw him simply looking at her. "I am sorry I said that. I was just being selfish and irrational-" She started but he cut her off by hugging her tightly.

"It's me who should be sorry, Hermione, and not you. You weren't being selfish or irrational. Hell, I am the selfish one here. I was so engrossed in my work, and meeting my friends, that I didn't realize I was ignoring you in the process. I ruined our plans because of a sudden call from my friends. I made you feel alone, so it's me who should be sorry here. I am really very sorry, Hermione. I am so sorry." He said.

Hermione squeezed him gently and pulled away. "Can we go out for dinner today, and then spend some time together?" She asked him.

He smiled at her, and said, " Of course. I promise that today, none of those things will happen today. I will pick you up from your work, and then we will come back home to get dressed, and then we will go somewhere special, okay?"

"And, where will we go?" She asked him.

"We will go to your favorite restaurant, the one near the beach. We can take a nice walk by the shore afterwards." He told her.

"If you don't mind, then I had some plans for us as well. I thought after eating dinner, we could go to the park where we went for our first date, take a walk there and then come back to our home. And then, maybe we could watch some movies?" She said.

"Hmm... Brilliant idea. We will definitely do that. Let me just-" He started but was soon cut off as they heard a his phone ringing.

He immediately picked it up. "Hello- oh, okay... Today? What time?... But wasn't it supposed to be tomorrow?... Fine. Yeah, I'll be there. Okay." He ended the call, and looked at her.

"My secretory just informed me that I have an important meeting today. It was first scheduled to be held tomorrow evening, but apparently the company's owners want to discuss this deal as soon as possible. They are coming at five o'clock in the evening today. I am really sorry, Hermione." He told her.

"It's not your fault. I know that if you had a choice, you wouldn't want to have that meeting today. We will go to that restaurant as soon as you finish your work, okay?" She smiled at him.

"Thank you for being so understanding as always. Let's make the treacle tarts now, shall we?" He kissed her forehead, and helped her make those tarts.

-------------

"Excuse me, gentleman." Draco said as he saw who was calling him. He immediately left his office, and pressed the phone to his ear.

"Hello? Love?" He asked.

"Draco. Is your meeting over?" She asked him.

He looked at his watch. Six o'clock. It had been an hour, and the meeting was no where near the end. The owners were as stubborn as him, and he wasn't going to give up.

"No. We are currently going over the merits of this deal, and it's taking a lot of time to convince them. I think it'll take another hour for it to end. What about you? Is your work done?" He asked her.

Hermione shook her head, and then realized he couldn't see her. "I was just about to leave my office, when a case came in. I am just going over the details right now, I'll look more into it tomorrow. So, I should be free in half an hour." She told him.

"Well, then you go back to home when you're done. I think I'll just apparate directly to the restaurant when I am done. I have some spare clothes here, so I'll just change and then meet you at the restaurant, at seven o'clock. I am sorry, Hermione. I feel like I am saying that a lot today." He apologized to her.

"It's okay, Draco. It's not your fault." She told him.

"I promise you, Hermione, I'll reach the restaurant on time, okay? And we'll celebrate our anniversary just like we planned. I love you." He said.

"I love you too, Draco." She smiled, and ended the call.

-----------

6 : 55

Hermione checked the time on her mobile, and apparated to the restaurant.

Having found the beach side view always breathtaking, she smiled at it. A waiter greeted her as she entered the restaurant. They always sat outside, but for some reason today, all the tables were full outside. So, she had no choice but to sit inside.

"Good evening, miss." The Manager greeted her.

"Good evening to you too. It looks like the restaurant's very busy today, the tables outside were full." She said.

"Ah, yes. Actually, a show was going on outside, so many people wanted to sit outside to watch it. It just ended about ten minutes ago." He informed her.

"Anyways, table for one?" He asked her.

"Actually, no. My boyfriend's just on his way here. So, table for two." She smiled at him.

He looked around for a few moments, and then saw an empty table in front of the window overlooking the beach. He led her to that table. "Would you like to order now or wait for your boyfriend?" He asked her.

"I will wait for him. He said that he would come here at seven o'clock, so we'll order then." She said.

The manager nodded and went away.

-------

Seven o'clock.

"He is probably just finishing his work." Hermione said to herself. She took her phone out, and smiled as she saw their picture. She really hoped that he would like what she had planned for them.

7 : 10

"Maybe the owners are too stubborn? I think that's why it's taking him so long." She thought.

7 : 30

"Where are you, Draco?" She muttered as she dialed his number for the third time, and he still didn't pick it up.

--------------

Meanwhile...

"Thank you for this deal, Mr Malfoy. We will see you soon." The owners shook his hand, and left the office.

He plopped himself down in the chair, and sighed. It was half past seven, and he was really exhausted.

They were just about to end the meeting, when one of the owners' brother joined them. Apparently, he too wanted to come to the meeting, but then he got some urgent call so he wasn't able to join them.

Draco knew that he had to convince him for this deal as well since he was also the co owner of that company.

"So, how did it go?"

Draco looked up from his desk to see Blaise leaning against the doorway. "I hate you." Draco told him.

"I love you too. Now, how was the meeting?" Blaise asked, sitting on the chair in front of Draco's desk.

"The owners were really hard to convince. But, at last I was able to convince them for this deal. It will really benefit us. And, by the way, why weren't you present in this meeting? You're the co owner of Malfoy Industries. I had to tolerate them alone, and I hate you for that." Draco said.

"You do know that I am a part time Healer as well? I was just helping them out with something. You can't guess whom I met there today." Blaise smirked at him.

"Who? Your girlfriend, Lovegood? Or her friend Weaslette who comes to St Mungo's at least once a month because Potter somehow manages to land himself in trouble?" Draco asked him.

"No. I met Pucey. Remember, Adrian Pucey?" Blaise asked.

"Yeah, he was two years above us in Slytherin. How's he? I haven't met him since after the battle when we were rebuilding Hogwarts." Draco said.

"He's good. He told me that he, and some of the other Slytherins are playing Quidditch tonight. He has a pitch outside his home, and he told me that I can join them, or bring someone with me join them if I want." Blaise told him.

"So, you're going?" Draco asked.

"No. I need to go back to St Mungo's. I volunteered to help in the pediatrics ward, and I just came here to ask about the meeting." Blaise said.

"Ah, I see. No time for your best mate, huh? Seems like you don't like me anymore." Draco said, shaking his head at him.

"Oh stop being such a drama queen. But then, of course you can't since it's your second nature to be one." He rolled his eyes. "Anyways, do you want to go and play Quidditch with them? I'll inform Adrian." Blaise added.

Draco thought for a moment, and then nodded.

He had a nagging feeling at the back of his mind, he knew he was forgetting something. I'll worry about that later, he thought.

"Yeah, tell him I'll be at his house in about ten minutes. I need to go back home to get my Quidditch gears." Draco said.

"Oh, don't worry about it. You can just transfigure your clothes. And, as for your broom and other things, Adrian already bought some. He wanted all of them to play with the same company items. Something about seeing who plays the best when they all have the same quality things, I suppose." He informed him.

Draco stood up from his chair. "Okay. I should probably go to his house now. See you tomorrow." He said as they both exited his office.

----------

Eight o'clock.

And he still wasn't here.

"Do you want to order now, miss?" The waiter asked her.

Hermione sighed. Might as well order now, she thought, Draco Malfoy, if you don't have a good enough reason to be this late, I swear...

"Okay. It will probably take ten minutes, so please wait for this." He said, and Hermione thanked him.

She looked at the other couples who were sitting there. She sighed, and looked out the window. She could see a couple sitting in her and Draco's favorite table.

"Draco, please pick up." Hermione said as she dialed his number for the eleventh time in the past twenty minutes.

Soon after that, the waiter brought the food. Hermione thanked him again, and started eating it. Halfway through that, she thought that she could call Blaise.

"What if Draco's in danger? Merlin, please keep him safe." Hermione muttered as she dialed Blaise's number.

He picked up on the sixth ring. "Hey, Hermione!" He said in his cheery voice.

"Hey, Blaise. Umm, I was wondering if Draco's with you?" She asked him.

"No, he isn't with me. I am at St Mungo's. Why do you ask?" He asked her back.

"He isn't picking up his phone. And, he told me that he would meet me in the restaurant at seven o'clock, but he's still not here." She told him.

"Restaurant?" He asked.

"Yeah. Today's our first dating anniversary. He told me that he would directly come to the restaurant from his office after finishing his meeting." She said.

"Oh, Salazar." She heard Blaise mutter.

"Do you know where he is?" Hermione asked him.

"Umm..." He started nervously.

"Blaise, please. Just tell me where he is. He isn't in any danger, right? Is he alright?" Hermione asked him.

"He's playing Quidditch, with some of our friends." Blaise said, preparing himself for her outburst.

"What?" Hermione couldn't believe it. Surely he must be lying.

"Yes, it's true. Adrian Pucey invited me for playing Quidditch, but I couldn't go, and so I asked Draco if he wanted to go, and he agreed. I am really sorry, Hermione. If I knew, I wouldn't have-" He started but she cut him off.

"It's not your fault, Blaise. You didn't know. Just do me favor, okay?" She asked him.

"You don't have to ask, Hermione. We're past those formalities. Just say." He smiled at her, though she couldn't see him.

"Don't tell Draco that I called you. Just tell him that I was waiting for him after he finishes playing Quidditch. Please." And without giving him a chance to reply, she ended the call. She called the waiter, and asked for the bill, taking out the money from her purse in the process.

And with that, Hermione left the restaurant, wiping tears from her eyes.

-----------

At home

"Prat." Hermione muttered as she furiously wiped her face. "I just wanted to spend some time with him, and he couldn't even do that. I never asked him for anything else. No gifts, no dates and nothing else. So, why is it that the first time I ask, he had to do this?" Hermione started as she saw the decorations she had put in their living room.

She hadn't even eaten her lunch because of this. She wanted to surprise him, so instead of eating her food in the lunch break, she came back home to decorate the room. She had placed his favorite candles, and flowers around the room. She had even prepared some apple pie for him that they could eat later, or during the movies.

She had even placed her gifts for him on the small table beside the couch. He had promised her that they would spend a nice time together.

She started putting all the decorations back in the box that she had conjured as she remembered their conversation while leaving their house.

He had promised her that they would spend a nice time together today, and he wouldn't attend any calls, wouldn't be late to meet her, and they will enjoy their anniversary.

Why did he have to break his promises? Or better, why promise in the first place when you intend to break it?

She never asked him to give her those extravagant gifts, take her to most expensive restaurants, or buy expensive clothes for her every time they go to a clothes' shop.

Then why is it that the first time she asked him for something, that too for just spending some time with her on their first anniversary, he decided to spend his evening playing Quidditch with his friends after promising her?

After she had done that, she locked the doors and windows so nobody except the person whom the wards recognized would be able to enter.

As she entered their room, she looked into the mirror. She had worn his favorite dress of hers. A simple knee length dress, with green at the top, and black at the bottom. She had paired it with her black heels, and a pendant that Draco had given her for her birthday.

After changing into her night clothes, she did her evening washroom rituals, and climbed onto the bed. Clinging to her pillow, she muttered, "Selfish prat," as silent tears rolled down her cheeks.

It hurt her a lot that he had chosen to spend his evening with his friends instead of her on their anniversary. If he didn't want to go with her, he could've just said that. She wouldn't have minded. Sure, it would have hurt her, but not more than the hurt she was feeling now.

-------------

One hour later

"WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO YOUR PHONE?"

Draco looked at the approaching figure as he talked to his friends after catching the Snitch. It had taken him one hour to do that, but the had finally ended.

"What are you talking about?" He asked as Blaise stood in front of him.

"What on Earth happened to your phone? Why weren't you picking it up?" Blaise asked him, and for some reason, glaring at him as well.

"Oh... Well, I put it into silent mode after I talked to Hermione during the meeting and I guess I left it in my office." Draco said, handing the broom to Pucey as everyone except Blaise and him walked towards the broom cupboard.

"I can't believe how selfish you are. Instead of spending time with her, you left her alone and came here to play this stupid game. Really, Draco?" Blaise glared at him.

"Wha- what are you-" He stopped as his eyes widened in realization. "Oh no. I was supposed to meet her at the restaurant. And, I forgot all about that." He smacked his forehead.

"Exactly, Mr Malfoy. She called me, you know. And, she was worried about you. She didn't believe me when I said that you were playing Quidditch, she thought that you were in some kind of danger." Blaise told him.

"Why didn't you tell me earlier?" Draco asked him.

"Are you kidding me, Malfoy? You weren't picking up your phone, and she requested me not to tell you that she called me until you finished playing this game. She was really hurt, you know. I could hear the hurt she was feeling in her voice." Blaise said.

Draco dropped to his knees on the floor, covering his face with his hands. "How could I do this? I was so exhausted after the meeting that it completely slipped from my mind. I had to put my phone on silent because the owners didn't like that I was talking to someone else during the meeting." He said.

Blaise put his hand on Draco's shoulder. "It's not a valid excuse for not meeting her." He said to him.

"I know, Blaise, I know. I know that I messed up pretty badly. I know that it doesn't excuse my actions. I am such a selfish man, Blaise. I made her upset because I forgot all about meeting her. What am I gonna do now? She wouldn't talk to me. Hell, she probably hates me right now. And, I wouldn't be surprised if she does. I know I wasn't perfect for her, but I tried, Blaise, I really tried. I tried to be good enough for her. She's the only light in my dark life, and I messed it up as well just as I mess up everything else. She waited for me, and fell asleep on the couch while doing that these past so many days, and you know what I did? I ignored her. Weasel was right, you know? I don't deserve her, and I would never be good enough for her, I'll fail every time I try to do something nice for her, and eventually, I'll ruin us." Draco said, on the verge of crying.

Blaise crouched down in front of his friend, and removed his hands from his face. "We both know that those things aren't true. Weasel is Weasel, he cannot tell the difference between sugar and salt. How can you expect the things which he said to be true?" He told him.

"And, it's never too late, you know. You can still make it up to her. Just go back home, and immediately apologize. If she doesn't listen to you, then plan something. Plan a surprise or something like that for her, which you know that she will like. Just don't beat yourself up. She's the light in your life, right? Then don't let it get dim. Go, Draco." He added.

Draco nodded and immediately apparated back to his home.

"What should I do now?" Blaise thought as he stood alone in the pitch.

A moment later, "Ah ha. A mistake is a mistake, Draco, whether it's done accidentally or intentionally. And, I know the perfect person or two who would like to give you your punishment for this." Blaise smirked at no one.

After he called the desired people, and told them everything, he said to himself, "Sorry not sorry, Draco. You deserved it."

 PART 2 ----->

A/N: That's it for part one. It was 4300+ words. Hope you guys liked it. So, when I had firstly planned this story, I didn't expect it to be this long. I'll publish part two as soon as I publish this one, so you can read it as soon as you finish reading this. Random question: If your patronus could be of any shape, what would it be? Answer in the comments below. Vote, comment and please share my story.
