Luka wakes up inside a funny tray.  The first thing that comes to mind is agh, the pain. He wonders why he is still alive. Then, he laughs.  He should have known the wound was not a deadly one. He kicks his way out.  He notices the place smells bad.  He makes bloody footprints across the floor as he heads toward the exit.

He runs outside and sees a sign that reads, " Paris Morgue " across it in bold letters.

He thinks that could only mean one thing someone mistook him for dead.

Meanwhile, there is a knock on the door to the Cuffaine residence.  Kagami thinks it sure is rather late for any visitors. She answers the door and says, "Yes."

"Mrs. Cuffaine, is it?"  An officer asks.

Kagami nods her head.  She has no idea what this is all about anyway.  She only woke up from the noise the police made outside her home.

"Do you know the whereabouts of your husband, Luka?"  The officer asks.

"Sure, he went on a business trip for two weeks. See the number to the place is right here," She says as she hands the officer a slip of paper.

"I  am afraid I have something to tell you,"  The officer says gently.

Kagami takes a seat.  She has this feeling something horrid has happened.  Why else did the officer come to see her? It makes no sense though because Luka is away for work.

"Mrs. Cuffaine,  I am sorry to inform you, but your husband is dead.  We got a tip from someone who went to the location found his body and it was taken to the morgue,"  The officer explains.

"No, there must be some mistake," Kagami protests.  Her eyes feel up with tears.

    Kagami's  POV:

Luka and I got married two months ago.

She shakes her head at the police officer's words.

She refuses to believe her Luka is dead.

"Sorry, Madame, but facts are facts.  Your husband is no longer among the living," The officer repeats himself.

He sees her tears so he hugs her.  He hates to be the bearer of bad news.  It is times like these that make him question why he ever joined law enforcement in the first place.  He steps away and asks,  "Is there someone I should call for you?"

"You do not get it do you?   There is no one!  No one, you here?"  Kagami says as the tears roll down her cheeks.
